heâs your bodyguard on your sudden arrest and containment on Alcatraz.Â
| SUMMARY
For some reason, you got a massive bounty in your head since youâre affiliated with your uncle who has a syndicated network.
You didnât knew about his âdirtyâ affairs. You know him as a sweet father figure who took you in when your dad died a âmysteriousâ death. There were absurd rumors that your uncle and your mom was supposed be married.
But none of that matters when your headâs like splitting to two, an IV connected to you, a grade two sprain in the ankle and soldiers swarming outside your room as if youâre a cold blooded criminal.

~ PROLOGUE -
The thunderstormâs been endless and unforgiving since the clock struck:
2000.
Lightning bolts in like a heartbeat after few seconds, lighting up the sky briefly before the dark black clouds swallows the air again. Then the rain keeps falling, piercing and drumming the ground and the hard roofing of the worldâs most known, secluded and high profile prison; Alcatraz.
The team had just finished a quick dinner.Â
Soapâs conversing with the prisonâs head nurse regarding about [Your name]âs current condition. Priceâs roaming at the control room, seeking his solitude there as he monitors the inmates along with the guards and officers. Meanwhile, Alias and Templarâs at the Armoryârefining and building their arsenal.
And Ghost had just finished a short mission call from the HQ.
âKeep Zakhaevâs niece in your custody. Sheâs now a valuable asset. Further instructions will be provided soon.â
The Task Force 141 of GTSS was supposed be hunting and trailing; Imran Zakhaev. Not this. It wasnât considered be like this.
The mission was clear from 48 hours ago: Take or execute Imran Zakhaev along with his men.
Yet, none of them had been close an inch in accomplishing such. The team got an intel that Imran Zhakaevâa malefactor seeking to restore Russia to the days of the Soviet Unionâhas a niece around the city theyâre deployed in.
Itâs [Your name].
Who got abducted by underground forces whoâs also seeking Zakhaevâs head on a stake or maybe seeking his hand for alliance. The HQ then reinstated their mission: Extract and contain the niece. Weâll be needing her.
And as the intelligence unit works, it was verified and confirmed. [Your name] is indeed a valuable asset in this high stakes mission.Â
Apparently, Imran is [Your name]âs father figure and it seems he doesnât want the world to be aware that aside from his sonâhe also treasures someone else.
Ghost then began descending the stairs, walking tall with an unhurried pace, shoulders squaredâswaying a bit as he saunters. Boots heavy but silent on the ground. His skull carved balaclava remains on and cracks his neck both sideways.
A tactical vestâs put up within his black fitted combat shirt that wraps his frame perfectly from the neck, his torso and biceps.Â
More to that, an AK-47âs clinging diagonally on his back above the vest. The pockets in front are containing pistols and combat knife. One holster at the thigh of his cargo trousers.Â
âShe not awake yet?â he simply asked, native accent thick as he halted from his tracks. Two steps away from Soap whoâs within the vicinity of [Your name]âs prison cell frame.Â
Soap shrugged. His arms crossed around his chest while leaning by the frame, his one ankle crossed to the other.Â
âRile hasnât barked yet. So, no. Unless the lady knows how to bloody tame your âsupposedâ dog, mate.â
Ghost raised a brow behind his mask. He turned his head towards the cellâs door. Thereâs no movement there nor a sound creeping in.Â
And heâs very aware heâd deployed his dog there for an extra eye.Â
âSo,â Price starts again with that grin. âHow would you think this lass would comply with us as we find Papa Imran?â
Ghost isnât a man who pries himself off in someone elseâs perspective nor is someone who gives a verdict. Heâs a specialized and seasoned soldierânot a law enforcer.Â
But it doesnât mean he lacks a good judgment.Â
âEither sheâs aware of his uncleâs business or sheâs just daft. Might be prolly tad gutted first when she wakes.â
Soap nods and the thunderstorm hasnât stopped a beat. Itâs continuously ramming the place and eating up the deafening silence on the hard walls and steel of the prison.Â
Then a bark.
Both two soldierâs head snapped at the door.Â
Itâs Rile and the ladyâs definitely had been awake.Â
Meanwhile, [Your name] woke up confused. This is not the last place registered in her memory. She was abducted. Almost harassed. Almost stripped off her dignity.Â
But she got welcomed by a foreign massive room with blinding fluorescent lights. The huge dark tinted barred metal windows are displaying the cold weather outside.Â
Then thereâs an IV line, a smell of antiseptic and a bandage on her ankle.Â
And a dog...?
The heavy door then openedâchoking out two soldier looking men approaching her.Â
[Your name]âs brows furrowed as she pushes herself to sit.Â
âWho the hell are you?â
âTheyâre not the one who abducted me. Certainly theyâre men in black. Faceless. Not someone with an overgrown beard and a partner with a... weird skull mask.â
Soap took another step forward by the edge of the bed and shows his issued GTSS badge in the air.Â
âTask Force. Employed by the government. Iâm Soap,â and he jerks his thumb towards Ghost whoâs standing a few feet away with the dog looking up at his owner.Â
âThatâs Ghost.â
âAre you kidding me? What the fuck are those names? And what do you even want from me?â
âYouâre Zakhaevâs niece.â that man named, âGhostâ stated. His voice was flat and hasnât moved a limb out towards her.Â
[Your name] looks more than confused. That didnât answered her question. He just stated a truth.Â
And because of [Your Name]âs irritation and frustration amongst the confusion, she canât help but snap. It had been a whirlwind of week for her.Â
Her momâs abroad.
Her dadâs long dead for almost a year now.
[Your name] has no siblings.
His uncleâs out of the country as well. Says he landed a contract.
[Your name] angled her gaze to where this apparently âweirdâ looking man in her sight after.Â
âWhy the mask? You ugly or something?â
Soap almost chokes on his breath, stifling a laugh that didnât remain stifled. Whilst, Rileâs head tiltedâlooking at the people around him.Â
Maybe thinking of a treat heâs overdue of.Â
âQuite the opposite.â
Then Ghost pulls a nearby chair and planted it few meters away from [Your name]âs bed. He spins it easily and swiftly with one hand and sat, manspreading. His posture all relax as he rests his back. Rile sat then on the ground where the space of his thighs had left a space.Â
Heâs a very tall man especially for [Your name]âs perspective. The chairâs barely containing his whole posture.Â
And by his recent action, it appears as if the whole room dwarfed. Soap just crossed his arms again, his hip leaning on the nearby wall.
A thunder clapped.
And the night seems longer with the thunderstorm that never passed yet.
While [Your name]âs simultaneously suspended in a place she doesnât know where is.Â
With two men whoâs looking at her like a cold blooded criminal.

Leon Kennedy, your partner | October 2026, Raccoon City Syndrome
âŤâŤâŤâŤâŤâŤ
The chopper blades sliced through the ash-heavy air over what remained of Raccoon City.
Twenty-eight years after the nuke, the ruins still bled.
Twisted metal skeletons of buildings clawed at the sky and faint traces of the old T-virus lingered in the soil like a bad memory that refused to die.
[Your Name] tightened the strap of her tactical vest as the bird descended toward the makeshift landing zone on the outskirts of the quarantined zone.
The Department of Special Operations (DSO) had pulled her in fast in another wave of âRaccoon City Syndromeâ cases, survivors from â98 suddenly deteriorating, turning violent, or simply vanishing.
The side door slid open.
A familiar figure waited below.
Blue eyes scanning the perimeter even before the rotors slowed:
Leon S. Kennedy.
[Your Name]âs partner from four years ago.
The man whoâd seen every kind of hell the world could spit out and still showed up with a dry one-liner and a loaded pistol.
He offered a hand as she jumped down, grip firm and steady. âYouâre late,â he said.
âThought you overthrew the bird on your way here.â
[Your Name] clasped her forearm briefly and answered with a grin, âMissed you too, Kennedy. Briefing said the situation escalated.â
Leonâs expression darkened. âIt did. Come on.â
He led {{user}} through the cordon, past BSAA checkpoints and into a reinforced mobile command trailer.
Inside, the air smelled of stale coffee and gun oil.
A man in civilian clothes, mid-forties, nervous eyes, rumpled jacketâsat at the table nursing a cigarette he wasnât supposed to have.
âHughes,â Leon introduced without warmth.
âFormer Umbrella researcher turned reluctant whistleblower. Heâs the one who fed us the intel on Gideon.â
Hughes stood quickly, offering a shaky handshake.
âAgent [Your Name]. Good to finally meet you in person. I... I gave everything I had to Kennedy two days ago. Victor Gideon isnât just experimenting on Syndrome carriers. Heâs weaponizing the latent strain. Turning the survivors into something worse. Heâs got a facility, old ARK remnants under the city. If he releases the new variant...â
Leon cut in, arms crossed.
âWe stop him before that happens. Hughes already confirmed Gideonâs using infected test subjects as vectors. We move in quiet, extract any viable intel or survivors and put Gideon down.â
He then added, âRules of engagement are simple: anything that used to be human but isnât anymore doesnât get a second chance.â
[Your Name] met Leonâs gaze.
The weight he carried was visible.
The slight tension at the corners of his eyes.
The way his hand never strayed far from his holster.
Raccoon City Syndrome had been gnawing at survivors for years.
âSame playbook as always?â [Your Name] asked.
A ghost of his old smirk appeared. âYou know me. Improvise, adapt and try not to die. But this time... we end it.â
Hughes slid a encrypted drive across the table.
âCoordinates, security layout and what I could pull on Gideonâs security detail. Heâs expecting company but not you two together. Use that.â
Leon pocketed the drive and checked his revolver with practiced ease.
âGear up. We move in ten. Stay close. Gideonâs creatures donât play fair and neither does he.â
As the two of them stepped back into the ruined city air, Leon glanced sideways at her.
âGlad Iâm working with you again, [Your Name]. Letâs make sure we both walk out.â
[Your Name] nodded, falling into step beside him as the ruined streets swallowed the command post behind them.
The mission on the first day then had been a brutal slog.
Gideonâs outer patrols.
A handful of Raccoon Syndrome-afflicted carriers that had already turned.
And a collapsing service tunnel that nearly buried both of [Your Name] and Leon.
By the time [Your Name] and Leon staggered out of the ruins into the decaying outskirts of Elbridge.
A half-forgotten satellite town that had once served Raccoon City workers.
The sun had long since disappeared behind the poisoned horizon.
[Your Name]âs legs burned.
Leonâs shoulder was aching like hell. Though, he waved it off like it was a paper cut.
âSafe house should be two blocks up,â he muttered, checking the cracked GPS on his wrist unit.
âHughes said it was still standing. Low profile. We regroup, patch up and push for the ARK access point at dawn.â
The âsafe houseâ turned out to be a sagging two-story hostel called The Elbridge Rest.
The sign was half-burned but the building was intact enough.
Reinforced doors.
Boarded windows.
And a generator humming in the basement
The elderly caretaker took one look at their DSO IDs, accepted the encrypted payment chit and handed over a single key with a tired shrug.
âOnly one room left,â he grunted. âBeen a lot of... activity lately. Take it or leave it.â
Leon exhaled through his nose, the sound almost a laugh. âOf course there is.â
The room was small, cramped and smelled faintly of old wood and disinfectant.
One bed.
One threadbare couch that looked like it would collapse if a Licker sat on it.
A single lamp cast a weak yellow glow over the faded wallpaper.
[Your Name] dropped her pack by the door and rolled her aching shoulder.
âIâll take the couch.â
Leon was already peeling off his jacket, wincing as the fabric stuck to the dried blood on his arm.
He glanced at the couch then at [Your Name] then at the bed.
The exhaustion on his face was deeper tonight.
âDonât be stupid,â he said, voice low and rough.
âWeâve shared worse. That thing looks like itâll give you a concussion by morning. Bedâs big enough for the two of us.â
Leon paused, reading [Your Name]âs expression and offered a tired half-smirk. âRelax. I wonât bite. Unless something in here does first.â
And they both knew damn well that the real reason for the hesitation wasnât propriety.
It was the weight they carried together.
The Raccoon syndrome symptoms that had started creeping in lately.
The knowledge that one bad night could turn into something the other might have to put down.
But sharing a bed after a day like today felt...
Intimate in a way missions rarely did.
Leon tossed a spare blanket onto the bed and headed for the tiny attached bathroom to clean his wound.
Over his shoulder he added, âGet some rest, [Your Name]. Iâll take first watch. We move at first light.â
"If loving Her Majesty's a sin then let me have the life of a sacriligeous man."
A court jester and a crowned princesse in the year of one thousand four hundred seventy.
ââąŕźťđĽ¸ŕźşâ°â
Torches hissed along the Highreach Castleâs stone ribs, casting long shadows that danced like conspirators across tapestries heavy with the deeds of forgotten kings.
The court of Arden had gathered not for feast or masque this eve but for sharper sport.
The unmasking of a fool.
Javier stood at the circleâs heart, bells silenced for once upon his motley of crimson and shadowed gold.
In his hand fluttered a sheaf of parchment.
Sketches seized from his private chamber by some watchful courtier with more spite than sense.
Charcoal lines upon the page spoke what words dared not.
The graceful curve of a neck beneath a crown, eyes hollowed by duty yet lit from within, lips parted as though on the verge of a secret.
Portraits of [Your Name].
Again and again.
The princess rendered not as distant icon but as living flame.
The Lord Chamberlainâs voice cut the air like a poorly whetted blade.
âWhat means this, Fool? These drawings? Her likeness captured in every stroke. Dost thou fancy thyself more than jester? Dost thou admire the Princess Royal?â
A murmur swelled, venomous and delighted. A baroness leaned forward, fan fluttering.
âOr is it love, baseborn? A foolâs heart leaping toward the sun? âTis near to sin, this presumption.â
The Chamberlain was relentless, âShe is promised to the Crown Prince of Wales, alliance of blood and realm. To look upon her is to covet what heaven and law forbid.â
Javierâs smile was a razorâs edge, sharp enough to draw blood from the very air.
He tilted his head, bells whispering faintly, as though even they feared to laugh.
âMy lords, my ladies, ever do you see treason in a line of charcoal? I am but the courtâs shadow, tasked to mirror what beauty the world offers. Should I blind myself to the rose because thorns guard it? Or cease to sing of the moon because she belongs to the night sky?â
Javierâs gaze flicked not to the accusers but to the dais where [Your Name] sat, still as carved ivory.
[Your Name]âs fingers tightened around the stem of her goblet, wine dark as old secrets.
In her eyes he read the echo of stolen garden afternoons, before his house fell and his name became jest.
âAnswer plain, Javier. Do you burn for her? A lowborn fool mooning after royal blood? âTis close to blasphemy. To treason fresh.â
âThe kingâs own fool, forgetting his place.â The Chamberlain pressed on, voice oily with satisfaction.
âOne word from Her Highness and these pages burn. One word from us and thou may join them.â
Laughter rippled, cruel and eager.
Javier bowed low, theatrical as ever, yet when he rose the mischief in his eyes had sharpened into something fiercer.
âDo I burn for her, you say? What fool would not? Princess[Your Name] is the single slash of crimson in this gray and frozen realm. Yet fear not, good sirs. I know the bars of my cage. The sins and blasphemy you had breathed.â
His voice dropped, meant for her alone amid the clamor.
âBut, in thee, in the name of a foolâs honesty, I do not need salvation. If loving Her Majesty is a sinful act then have me the life of a sacrilegious man.â
[Your Name] did not speak.
She needed not.
The faintest curve touched her lips. Hidden from the court, seen only by the man who had drawn it a hundred times in secret.
The hall buzzed with fresh gossip, the drawings passed from hand to eager hand.
Yet in that moment, between the fool and the princess, something far more dangerous than ink had been revealed.
A thread of longing that no decree, no betrothal, no threat of sin could fully sever.
For in the year of our Lord fourteen hundred and seventy, even a jesterâs heart could topple kingdoms, if only in silence.
The faithful butler and the left heir living with the aftermath of his young ladyâs tragic loss.
ââ ââ đ¤â â ââ
Rain lashed against the tall mullioned windows of the Manor, a relentless silver curtain that blurred the night into something primal and unforgiving.Â
Thunder rolled low in the distance, echoing the storm that had taken her parents three years earlier.Â
Inside the master chambers, [Your Name]âs twisted in her sleep, silk sheets tangled around her legs like restraints.
Her breathing came in sharp, fractured gasps.Â
In the dream she was back on the ship, lightning fracturing the sky, her motherâs scream cut short, the sickening lurch as the world inverted.Â
âSweethearâ!âÂ
The voice cracked and dissolved into static and rain.Â
[Your Name] reached, always reachingâŚÂ
⌠but her hands closed on nothing.
The heavy oak door to her chambers opened without a sound.Â
Nolan stepped inside, a shadow in a perfectly tailored black suit, carrying a small silver tray with her midnight espresso and a single dose of the mild sedative he only offered on nights like this.Â
The discreet errand, a quiet meeting at the old docks to finalize the quiet removal of a shareholder who had grown too bold with sensitive documents which required them to leave by midnight.Â
He had timed it to the minute.
Nolan then crossed the room on silent steps, intending only to wake her gently as he had done on a handful of previous nights.Â
But the moment he reached the side of the four-poster bed, he froze.
[Your Name]âs face was twisted in silent agony, tears slipping from beneath closed lashes. Her fingers clawed at the sheets.Â
A broken whimper escaped her throatâsmall, raw, nothing like the composed heiress the world saw.
âMy mistress,â he murmured, voice pitched low beneath the drumming rain.Â
He set the tray aside instantly.
He did not hesitate.
Nolan removed his leather gloves with precise movements and laid them on the nightstand.Â
Then he sat on the edge of the bed, the mattress dipping under his weight, and rested one steady hand against her shoulder.
â[Your Name].âÂ
The use of her first name was rare, reserved for these moments when the walls between them thinned.Â
His grip was firm, grounding, the kind of touch that said:Â I am here and I will not let the dark take you.Â
âYou are safe. It is only a dream. Come back to me.â
She jerked awake with a gasp, eyes wide and unfocused still half-trapped in the nightmare.Â
For a second she thrashed and Nolan simply drew her forward into his chest, one arm wrapping around her back while the other cradled the nape of her neck.Â
The embrace was enveloping, almost maternal in its protective certainty.Â
His body playing a solid wall between her and the memory.
Rain hammered the windows like accusatory fingers but inside the circle of his arms the storm felt farther away.
âBreathe with me,â he said quietly, his voice a low anchor. âIn⌠and out. Good. Again.â
He held her until the trembling eased, one hand making slow, soothing strokes down her spine.Â
Never lingering.Â
Never crossing the line.
Only offering the contact she needed.
When her breathing steadied, he spoke again, his words woven through pragmatic calm.
âYour parents are gone but you are not. You survived what destroyed them. That is not luck. That is strength they gave you and that you have honed every day since.â
His tone carried no pity, only quiet reverence.Â
âThe world took them. It will not take you. Not while I draw breath.â
[Your Name]âs fingers curled into the front of his waistcoat, anchoring herself in the familiar scent of cedar and starch.Â
Nolan pressed a single, chaste kiss to the crown of her head.Â
Reverent, almost ritualistic. Â
And then eased back just enough to meet her eyes. His steel-grey gaze held steady, worship and resolve braided together.
âThe meeting at the docks can wait,â he continued. âOr I can handle it alone and bring you the outcome before dawn. You have carried enough tonight.âÂ
Nolan brushed a damp strand of hair from her cheek with careful fingers.Â
âTell me what you need. More time here? Warm tea? The lights on? Or simply me staying until the rain sounds like rain again and not like the end of the world?â
Outside, thunder cracked but inside the chamber the only storm that mattered was already beginning to quiet under the steady, unwavering care of the man her grandmother had chosen.Â
And who had chosen [Your Name] in return.
Nolan would bend the night itself if it meant she could face tomorrow unbroken.
He waited, patient as the rain, ready to give her whatever piece of himself she required.

[Your Name]âs home sat on the outskirts of the city like a steel-and-glass tomb.
Cold.
Pristine.
And almost always empty.
Their parents, Dr. Alfred and Dr. Serene were brilliant rift researchers.Â
Famous.
Respected.
And almost never home.
[Your Name] grown used to the silence.Â
The trusted maid, Anna, was the only constant presence in the house.Â
Tonight, though, something felt off.
They watched from the shadowed hallway as Mara carried a covered basket down the restricted basement stairs.Â
They never went down there.Â
No one did.
Parents said itâs restricted due to âfailed experimentsâ and âcontaminated equipmentsâ.
The basement was always locked with a heavy mag-tech bolt your parents claimed was for âsensitive equipment.â
Curiosity and a strange unease won.
[Your Name] waited until Anna left then they crept down.Â
The lock was complex but theyâd picked worse during their rebellious teenage years.Â
A few careful twists, a soft click and the *door swung open.*
The basement was not what [Your Name] expected.
Dim blue emergency lights hummed overhead.
Research papers covered every surface.
Diagrams of lunar energy patterns, rift fracture theories and notes on âsubject stabilityâ.
Red string connected photos and hypotheses in a chaotic spiderweb across one wall.Â
At the center of the room stood a reinforced containment cell with glowing electrical bars.
And inside it...
A young man.
He was sitting on the edge of a narrow cot, elbows on his knees, head lowered.Â
Messy black-and-silver hair fell over his face.Â
Wolf ears twitched at the sound of the door. When he lifted his head, [Your Name] saw the striking mismatch in his eyes.Â
One icy blue, one burning gold.
Both of them froze.
[Your Name] wasnât aware of like this.
Something like this breathing under their noses.
Their home.
Ever since [Your Name] had kissed the dust on their ânormalâ world...Â
Somehow, they got reincarnated in a universe that was considered as fantasy to their native world.Â
Which was almost ridiculous at first.
They survived many, countless challenges in their past life and somehow; surviving feels second to breathing.Â
[Your Name] adapted well and had concluded;Â This is better than heaven or hell or the purgatory.
But this...?
What words can they said outright?
And Isaac? He had memorized exactly three faces in the last eleven months of captivity.Â
The cold male scientist.
The colder female scientist.
And the silent maid who brought food.
No one else ever came down here.
He didnât know the family had a child.
[Your Name] didnât know their parents were keeping a kind of him locked in their basement.
For three full seconds, neither of them spoke.
Isaac rose slowly, chains rattling faintly at his ankles.Â
He was shirtless, wearing only dark pants, his muscular frame tense but unmarked.Â
No scars.Â
No visible wounds.Â
Just restless energy rolling off him like heat.
His ears were pinned back, tail, partially shifted, lashing once behind him.
â...Youâre not them,â Isaac said, voice low and rough from disuse. âWho the hell are you?â
[Your Name] took an instinctive step back, heart hammering.Â
âThis is my house. What are you doing here? Why are you...? Why are my parents keeping you in a cage?â
Isaacâs mismatched eyes narrowed. He studied [Your Name] like they were a new variable in this context.Â
Wary.
Almost disbelieving.
The person in front of Isaac looked nothing like the clinical detachment heâd come to expect from this house.Â
There was real shock in their eyes.
Real confusion.
He let out a short, bitter laugh that didnât reach his face.
âWelcome to the family business, whatever your name is.â His ears flicked. âYour parents didnât tell you they have a pet wolf in the basement?â
âOr maybe they just forgot to mention the part where theyâve been pumping me full of rift serum for the last year.â
[Your Name] glanced at the wall of frantic notes.Â
âSubject R-17 stability failing... emotional anchors needed... Moon-Blessed mutation unstable...â *then* back at him.
He looked beyond restless. Not broken. Not docile.Â
Just... tired.
And perhaps dangerous?
Isaac stepped closer to the electrical bars, close enough that the blue light flickered across his sharp features.Â
His voice dropped, quieter now.
âIâve only seen three faces down here. Never yours.âÂ
He tilted his head, silver streaks catching the light.Â
âSo either youâre really good at hiding... or theyâve been keeping you in the dark too.â
He searched [Your Name]âs face for a long moment, something unreadable flickering behind the guarded gold-and-blue stare.
Your ex, trying to get back 3 years later after choosing his career over you
° âË â§Â áŻâ˝ď¸ âË.
The Madrid air welcomed Bjornâs, immediately, as he stepped foot to his new home.
Heâs finally stepping and living the life he thought was just a dream before.Â
Being scouted by one of the biggest soccer club is beyond him. He canât even find the right words nor had this new reality had completely sink in him.Â
Though, as he begins adjusting for almost a week now... he canât still deny that unignorable ache sitting in his chest.Â
This will be his home now.Â
Yet, it still feels too far away from whatever âhomeâsâ supposed to be.Â
Bjorn closes his foreign language materials. Itâs throbbing his head. Why do spanish people have certain words to use for a male and a female? Bloody hell.
His chamomile teaâs brewing in his head and he canât wait to clutch into his bikeâs handlebars and revved it through the pavement of his new city.Â
He needs that aroma to settle his senses.
And in a ridiculous point, heâs thinking he should start making a bucketlist composing of:Â A European tour.
Bjorn feels like a nomad. A proper one. He thinks.Â
Because as far as he assesses, heâs not someone who had settled from one place. Heâs born in London, yes. Only then migrating to Bradford in freshmen years of college and to nowâon his last yearâheâd moved again.Â
Here, in Espaùa.
Itâs not that Iâm complaining. Itâs just like thereâs something more that needs to be somehow... fulfilled.
He packs his things and had decided to retire the massive library of the university. Thereâs no point for Bjorn pretending that the words heâs reviewing arenât registering in his head.Â
Itâs making me feel like sum bloody gutted nutter.
Although, before he reaches the lot, some of his schoolmates recognized him.Â
Brilliant.
Heâs not the introvert type nor is a type of person who vanishes in a crowd. Heâs used to it. Heâs an athlete and he loves conversing with different lads and lasses.Â
It even came to a good jest that he should be a politician instead of an engineer.Â
But for the first time? The real reason he truly wants to bolt is because...Â
Spanish is sounding alien to his ears.
Bjorn just finds himself nodding along with one lad to another when the conversation intensifies or when the âuniversal languageâ slips away and the lads will turn into their mother tongue in most of his social ventures.
And now that heâs seeing these varsity players of his uni? Heâs already mentally rehearsing his line of:
âSorry, Iâm currently busyâ in his perfect and not trying too hard of a Spanish tone.Â
Though his usual âsocialâ confidence got blown along with the afternoon breeze as he saw a familiar figure on the pathway.
Too familiar.
Way too familiar.
Itâs [Your Name].
Apparently, his first love.
First everything.
His âhigh school sweetheartâ.
No, scratch that. It had been years, Bjorn. He firstly thought. Sheâs still so breathtakingly gorgeous. It makes me feel like a total wanker standing here.
That said schoolmates then finally approached Bjornâcutting his line of attention to [Your name].
He flashes his practiced smile meant to answer the chatter but he feels way too performative right now.Â
And as he finds the right words to say, {{user}}âs somehow walking down to his path withâwhomâhe assumes is the coach of the uniâs soccer team.
Weâre really a foot apart right now.
He feels like the oxygen had been neglecting him.
[Your name]âs translating the coachâs questions about him.
Bjorn answers with the usual way. That âcharmingâ smile and eased expression. Heâs stating his honesty and his advice without a hint of arrogance (apparently for what he believes).
Then they finally left.Â
And he just canât let her go just yet.
Not like that.
âHola, [Your name]!â his grin widening as he followed her with an unhurried pace. His hands falling to his pockets.Â
âTanto tiempo!â
Blimey. My tutoring is actually paying off hard, innit? I actually said the words right like a natural.
He walks beside her now. That grin not leaving his face. âShould I have bloody started with âHiâ instead of âHolaâ, [Your name]? And have said âlong time no see, loveâ instead?â
[Your name] didnât even throw him a glance as she continues walking.
âNow that Iâm thinking of it... and apparently Iâm bit strugglinâ with rolling my tongue the âSpanishâ way... can you actually help this *suffering* lad with the culture difference, love?â
Bjorn tilts his head. His eyes glinting with more of a final nod of mischief.Â
As if he didnât had a history with {{user}}.
As if he didnât been a total bugger on that day.
Leaving her without a word nor a proper reason on his departure three years ago.
Heâs indeed a jerk for it. Maybe even more.Â
But the way heâs acting right now says the otherwise.Â
It just... feels somewhere in between finally and maybe finding the right balance on the hollowness heâs feelinâ despite having everything.Â
Despite being on the top.
And Bjorn? He had been following [Your name] for more than a minute now around the campus. Talking like as if heâs a business entrepreneur or a close acquaintance of [Your name].
As if the very gravity thatâs holding him will quake beneath if he wonât get to answer the whims of his heart.
Bjorn, continues walking beside her, not stepping in to her personal space (yet) as he keeps talking about his negotiation thatâs being unwelcome by {{user}}âs grace.Â
He doesnât mind if she wonât answer.
What matters most is the kind of warmth heâs feeling since he saw her.
That face.
That voice.
That specific scent.
Those; *that used to make him feel grounded* and not suspended on his footing before.
Bjorn chuckles lightly as he glances at her, still all mesmerized.
Still lookinâ like a devoted lovesick bloke all these years.
âCâmon, what should I do to make you bloody say yes, [Your name]?â
The thunderstormâs been endless and unforgiving since the clock struck:
2000.
Lightning bolts in like a heartbeat after few seconds, lighting up the sky briefly before the dark black clouds swallows the air again. Then the rain keeps falling, piercing and drumming the ground and the hard roofing of the worldâs most known, secluded and high profile prison;Â Alcatraz.
The team had just finished a quick dinner.Â
Soapâs conversing with the prisonâs head nurse regarding about [Your name]âs current condition. Priceâsroaming at the control room, seeking his solitude there as he monitors the inmates along with the guards and officers.
The mission was clear from 48 hours ago:Â Take or execute Imran Zakhaev along with his men.Â
And heâs very aware heâd deployed his dog there for an extra eye.Â
âSo,â Price starts again with that grin. âHow would you think this lass would comply with us as we find *Papa Imran?*â
And because of {{user}}âs irritation and frustration amongst the confusion, she canât help but snap.
The great cathedral of Highreach echoed with hymns that tasted of ash.
Beneath vaulted stone that had witnessed a hundred royal unions and a thousand broken hearts.
Princess [Your Name] stood as a bride.
Her gown was the color of winterâs end. Ivory silk shot through with threads of gold, heavy with pearls and the weight of kingdoms. A veil of finest lace shadowed eyes that had not known true rest in weeks.
The Crowned Prince of Wales waited at the altar, tall and dutiful, his face handsome in the way of well-polished marble.
Cold, unyielding, correct.
The court filled the nave like bright poisonâvelvets, furs, jewels glinting in the stained-glass light. They whispered of alliances sealed, borders secured, a golden future.
None saw the single slash of crimson hidden among the shadows of the transept.
Javier.
He wore his motley as armor, bells muted with black ribbon so they would not dare to sing on this day. In his sleeve he carried the last sketch he had not burned.
[Your Name]âs face turned toward candlelight, lips parted as though whispering his name.
Now he watched as another man took her hand.
The bishopâs voice rolled like distant thunder. âDo you, [Your Name] of Arden, take this manâŚâ
Her âI doâ was soft, steady, a blade slipped between ribs.
Javier felt it enter cleanly.
He who had juggled stars for her smile now stood powerless as those stars were chained to anotherâs crown.
âLook at meâ, Javier begged in the silence behind his painted grin.
âOne glance, my lady. Let me carry the memory of your eyes before they belong to him.â
For the briefest heartbeat, [Your Name] did.
Across incense and candle-flame, across the gulf of rank and ruin and holy vows, their gazes locked. In hers he read the same ache that clawed his own chest.
The gray world closing in again, the color draining as the ring slid onto her finger.
A single tear slipped beneath her veil, perhaps from joy, the court would say.
Javier knew better.
It was the last free thing she gave him.
The prince leaned to kiss her.
Polite.
Political.
Possessing.
Javierâs fingers crushed the parchment until charcoal smeared like old blood across his palm.
âThe Princess, [Your Name], was never yours to lose,â he told himself.
The old lie.
Yet every bell he had ever worn seemed to toll inside his skull:
Fool.
Fool.
Fool.
A jester from a fallen house, marked by treasonâs shadow, daring to love the sun.
It was sin, they had said.
Blasphemy.
Close enough to treason that one whisper could see him hanged.
And still, God forbid, he would have burned every kingdom in Arden if it meant one more stolen moment beneath the yew trees of their childhood, [Your Name]âs laughter in his ears instead of these hollow vows.
âCall, name, let them put a ring into it. If being merely a human, sinful and wrecked is the consequences of loving the princess⌠then theyâll have to see the mess of a restricted man who only knows her beyond the name she carries.â
A fool is not always a fool.
Fools are directly called âfoolsâ because theyâre stubborn, shallow and frivolous.
âBut maybe I am indeed a fool. A sinful one. And the salvationâs in her hands. And I, yes and will rather live as a sacrilegious man if such divinity is not graced by the heavens.â
As the newlyweds turned to face the cheering court, Javier stepped back into deeper shadow.
His smile returned, bright and bitter, the performance flawless. But inside, something vital had cracked.
The fool who had once brought crimson to her gray world now felt that color bleed from his own veins, leaving only winter.
Outside, the bells of Highreach began to ring in celebration.
Inside Javierâs chest, they tolled a dirge.

a court jester and a crowned princesse in the year one thousand four hundred seventy.Â
| SUMMARY:
Youâre the current crowned princesse of England.
The yearâs 1470s.
Odd enough, the princessâs not with the usual dynamics of the palaceâs hierarchical structure because youâre always accompanied by the court jester and his theatrics and whatever antics he has in his sleeves amongst his dark, cruel pastâs thatâs masked with his easygoing persona.
However, as your coming of age had lit up your innocent worldâthe weight of the crownâs truer and heavier than ever.
Youâre betrothed and expected to marry the Crowned Prince of Wales on which isnât part of your plan. Truthfully, you canât actually live a life you didnât choose nor plan.
But what can a princess do anyway? Itâs a given duty before your first breath. besides, royalties have no bearing to be... selfish.
~ PROLOGUE -Â
Torches hissed along the Highreach Castleâs stone ribs, casting long shadows that danced like conspirators across tapestries heavy with the deeds of forgotten kings.Â
The court of Arden had gathered not for feast or masque this eve but for sharper sport.Â
The unmasking of a fool.
Javier stood at the circleâs heart, bells silenced for once upon his motley of crimson and shadowed gold.Â
In his hand fluttered a sheaf of parchment.Â
Sketches seized from his private chamber by some watchful courtier with more spite than sense.Â
Charcoal lines upon the page spoke what words dared not.Â
The graceful curve of a neck beneath a crown, eyes hollowed by duty yet lit from within, lips parted as though on the verge of a secret.
Portraits of [Your Name].
Again and again.
The princess rendered not as distant icon but as living flame.
The Lord Chamberlainâs voice cut the air like a poorly whetted blade.Â
âWhat means this, Fool? These drawings? Her likeness captured in every stroke. Dost thou fancy thyself more than jester? Dost thou admire the Princess Royal?â
A murmur swelled, venomous and delighted. A baroness leaned forward, fan fluttering.Â
âOr is it love, baseborn? A foolâs heart leaping toward the sun? âTis near to sin, this presumption.âÂ
The Chamberlain was relentless, âShe is promised to the Crown Prince of Wales, alliance of blood and realm. To look upon her is to covet what heaven and law forbid.â
Javierâs smile was a razorâs edge, sharp enough to draw blood from the very air.Â
He tilted his head, bells whispering faintly, as though even they feared to laugh.Â
âMy lords, my ladies, ever do you see treason in a line of charcoal? I am but the courtâs shadow, tasked to mirror what beauty the world offers. Should I blind myself to the rose because thorns guard it? Or cease to sing of the moon because she belongs to the night sky?â
Javierâs gaze flicked not to the accusers but to the dais where [Your Name] sat, still as carved ivory.Â
[Your Name]âs fingers tightened around the stem of her goblet, wine dark as old secrets.
In her eyes he read the echo of stolen garden afternoons, before his house fell and his name became jest.Â
âAnswer plain, Javier. Do you burn for her? A lowborn fool mooning after royal blood? âTis close to blasphemy. To treason fresh.â
âThe kingâs own fool, forgetting his place.â The Chamberlain pressed on, voice oily with satisfaction.Â
âOne word from Her Highness and these pages burn. One word from us and thou may join them.â
Laughter rippled, cruel and eager.Â
Javier bowed low, theatrical as ever, yet when he rose the mischief in his eyes had sharpened into something fiercer.Â
âDo I burn for her, you say? *What fool would not?* Princess [Your Name] is the single slash of crimson in this gray and frozen realm. Yet fear not, good sirs. I know the bars of my cage. The sins and blasphemy you had breathed.âÂ
His voice dropped, meant for her alone amid the clamor.Â
âBut, in thee, in the name of a foolâs honesty, I do not need salvation. If loving Her Majesty is a sinful act then have me the life of a sacrilegious man.â
[Your Name] did not speak.Â
She needed not.
The faintest curve touched her lips. Hidden from the court, seen only by the man who had drawn it a hundred times in secret.
The hall buzzed with fresh gossip, the drawings passed from hand to eager hand.Â
