After so many years of being a student/trainee, it is very weird to cold email people with my CV and have them respond with YES, LET’S TALK.

One of my grad school friends called it a total mindset shift and it really is

I talked to the clinic director at a hospital this week and she was like, well. We have nothing open now, but I like your experience, so let me talk to our leadership and see if we have the budget to open a position

I’m a little gobsmacked

I had interviews! And I think they went well

And someone at the…ok, do not want to say name the org because it would be really easy to dox myself. But I do lots of evals for this study and you have to do a training on the gold standard assessment. The folks who develop it just reached out to me and said, hey want to test (/try to break) out our new training program. And the answer is YES absolutely the old one was buggy as hell

Apropos of all of this:

I have two job offers. One will require me to move back to new england. The other is in the city where I live now.

I am entirely torn. And I have to make a decision by Tuesday.

my dad is not necessarily a hockey fan, but he’s a general sports enjoyer. His main hockey opinion is that Canadian teams should always win, which I’m adopting both for the playoffs and Worlds. Anyway. Go Oilers, Leafs, Jets (in no particular order) and Team Canada.

(We are not Canadian, by the way. My dad is very much an Old New Yorker)
