watching the flare-up of discourse around AI in fics and fandom culture (specifically on twitter) is interesting in that I feel like there is so much historical revisionism happening... accusations that "these days" people cluster around big fics and fandom personalities... maybe it's just that the median age of many of these folks is like 23 but I can promise you this was happening in the 2010s and 2000s too. I was there for snowqueens icedragon. I remember the not-even-that-ancient texts.
