Billy antis seem to be quite immature and only like characters who are squeaky clean morally. Good forbid a character is morally complex.

I’ve seen a few people talk about this but Billy falls into many typical feminine tropes which makes it easy for girlies to relate (me included)

Feminine rage/ hysteria:

Billy is messy emotionally. He cries a lot. He yells, throws fits and isn’t stoic in the slightest. This differs with the typical masculine way of handling emotions that men were taught to display in the 80’s. This leads me to believe that Billy would’ve been better off with his mother, as deadbeat as she was, because she could have given him a chance to display these “feminine” (in 80s standards) emotions in a healthy way.

The whore:

You always see that girl in a horror movie. The hypothetical “slut” who sleeps with a man and almost instantly gets horrifically brutalized. Think about the meat hook maiden in chainsaw massacre. Billy is similar in many ways. He is hinted at being promiscuous, able to get any girl he wants and rather loose in morals. Then he’s brutally killed by the meat monster and dies a slow agonizing death.

Femme fatal:

Billy knows how to get what he wants and it always includes his body. Which is pretty problematic for a 17-18 year old but hey the Duffers never explored that concept. Anyway, Billy obviously has mommy issues, being abandoned as he was and that’s why I believe he latched onto Karen. In their first meeting scene he switches on/off so quickly between flirting with her and sitting in his car after. I believe that Billy saw a use in Karen (information, attention) and used her for his own gain. Karen isn’t innocent by any means. Her behavior towards Billy was predatory. I just don’t think Billy loved her, or any girl for that matter. With Heather, Billy can be seen luring her into the showers, although it was against his will, Billy’s body was used as a honey trap to get another victim for the mind flayer. If this isn’t femme fatale behavior idk what is.
