Either way, I kept this in mind as the season went along, and then lo and behold Ncuti Gatwa left. I assumed RTD learned this news late or after season 1 given the reshoots, and I also remembered the timing of the interview and how random it felt, and just couldn't shake the feeling RTD was bitter that Ncuti left. That Ncuti wouldn't allow himself just be strung along the rest of the seasons just for Doctor who. To ignore his career just to fit RTD's plans. And then in June 2025, guess what was released? The scripts for some of the episodes and they had crying or tears for the Doctor, which contradicts the interview.

“C’mere,” he said.  She shook her head vehemently and he grinned.  “I solemnly swear I ain’t gonna use you as bait or try to drown you.  But this here is something you should know how to do.”

“But it’s up to your neck.  It would be over my head.”

He glided towards her, getting his feet under him and standing up so his shoulders and upper chest were clear of the surface.  He caught her gaze slipping there, but then she focused back on his face.  “My feet are on the ground here.  It’s all right.”

Like soothing a spooked horse, he coaxed in, step after step.  He didn’t really think about how it must look, his mean old Ghoul persona being all nice and helpful, especially after ripping her a new asshole following Novac.  But in the long run, he’d told her the truth; she needed to know how to at least keep herself floating.  

I call this one: "What If? A Night in Vegas."

That lovely feeling of the Missing Scene. The extra and stolen moment. A softness and a silent admission. ❤❤❤

people are going to look back on this and ask, why were there only 21 episodes before an indefinite hiatus?
