I just realized something!

For weeks, something has been bothering me about Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. No matter how excited I was when I saw the trailer, no matter how excited I still am, something just felt wrong. Something felt off. Something felt missing.

And at first, I thought that it was the lack of the characters that we all know, love, and grew up with. And that’s a huge part of it. But even then, something else was still missing. And it was gnawing at me. I’ve rewatched the trailer so many times that I have the thing memorized. I’ve gotten excited and emotional every time. But again, something was missing.

And then I realized what it was:

Hogwarts.

I miss Hogwarts.

I want to go back to Hogwarts.

I don’t want to go to 1920s New York City. I’m sorry but I don’t. I don’t care about 1920s New York City, even if it’s still a part of the Wzarding World. It will never be like Hogwarts. It will never be our own little place, our home…

I don’t want to go to 1920s New York City.

I want to get back to Hogwarts.

It was the place where our characters’ stories truly began. It was the place where the readers’ journeys truly began. We’ve spent over a decade talking about Hogwarts, imagining ourselves at Hogwarts, imagining our characters at Hogwarts. Hogwarts was our home. Hogwarts still is our home.
