my mom is in fact aware that dandelions exist. she temporarily forgot the name and there was some miscommunication.

the truth is actually weirder

she is familiar with this flower. she knows the name of this flower. she declines to believe, however, that these are also dandelions

she does not believe these are the same plant. I tried to explain, and she thought I was either misinformed or lying. so I asked her what exactly did she think the yellow ones were called?

Do you have any advice for getting through college as someone who was undiagnosed AuDHD at the time?

Honestly it sounds like you're already doing the right thing by acknowledging overwhelm and burnout then giving yourself room to reset

It's not a luxury everybody has but setting boundaries with others and yourselves can be so important. It stops mounting pressures and confusions all round. Do it in smaller doses whenever possible

College and uni teachers can be crappy with fear mongering and pressure, so tuning that out to a degree can be useful.

Figuring out your optimal work windows is good too and leaning in to them if at all possible. I annoyingly would always 'lock in' during the middle of the night, likely due to tiredness but also the world goes quiet. Or mid afternoon when I'm left alone.
