having a thought I can't fully articulate about how normally video games conceptualise player agency as being part world reactivity and a much larger part power fantasy. and how scarlet hollow dials down the power fantasy but has a level of world reactivity that is absolutely off the charts. perfect for a horror game. you can see the ripples of every action you take no matter how small, but you can't save everyone. maybe not even yourself
