Hello, welcome to Australia, may I interest you in a 10kg ball of spikes falling without warning? It’s okay though, you’ll know if you’ve stepped under one: they carpet the ground in spikes. 

Hey so as a fellow Australian I think I’d like to let you know about the stinging tree, a plant that’s leaves are covered in tiny hairs capable of injecting neurotoxin that can cause excruciating pain for over 6 months and permenent nerve damage. I have met someone that fell in a bush of it once and they did not have a good time. Additionally, the fine hairs on the leaves and fruit looks quite soft and interesting to touch, so if you do not know what you are looking at, it is a quite enticing plant to feel :)

This doesn’t look very edible, though. This scares me.
