can we bring back the term "fair-weather friend" bc I feel like if fair-weather friends got called that more this whole argument about whether or not you should be there for your friends when it's inconvenient/at what point of personal inconvenience it's ok to bail on your friends would kinda fall apart bc like. we literally have a word for "friend who's only there when you don't need something from them" because the baseline expectation is that a friend should be there even when it sucks. like we used to make fun of people for bailing on their friends.

I will vote for any candidate who promises to go scorched fucking earth on every tech company. Break every single one of them up into companies based around a single product and then split those in thirds. Weaponize existing antitrust laws to the hilt and pass the most draconian versions of them ever seen on this planet. Nationalize google search specifically. Pass consumer privacy protections strict enough to kill the data harvesting industry for good. Make all of these fuckers go bankrupt for this rent-seeking shit

ive had a few friendships with so called people pleasers who refused to tell me whenever i upset them, let that resentment build up for months or years and then blew up in my face when they couldn't handle it anymore, and as i'm thinking about it now - you will not please me by trying to please me. if you are my friend and you don't tell me something i did pissed you off i am now mad at you. you're making your own inability to stand up for yourself my problem. dick move.
