When people look at my art and say "I wish I could do that" I like to tell them, "You can, if you practice" because they either ask me how to practice and I offer help, or they say "Nah", to which I can rebu, "Then I guess you don't want it that badly, do you?"

Like. At the risk of being an asshole about a benign statement, treating someone's proficiency like it's some kind of magical gift instead of a skill developed through persistant, dedicated effort, acknowledging that the proficiency is valuable, and then dismissing the cost of that value as 'not particularly worth the effort at all, actually' isn't so much a compliment as it is a mildly dismissive platitude

You tell me you would do anything to grill a cheese like I do and I offer to show you how and you say "never mind, keep grilling me cheeses though"

I don’t want to hear your dsmp hot takes, they’ve all been said a hundred times before. How about we give it some praise? It was just a bunch of friends trying to tell a cohesive story and for the most part it was great!

Literally I am in love with how intertwined these characters are. Each relationship is important. You can feel the care they put into the acting, because they had fun with their ideas. The plot points are so fun to look into, finding your own meaning in things on the server, intended or not. And honestly? It’s just fun. They’re funny! The story these random strangers made on a whim makes me feel happy and that’s enough.
