my #truke is that a lot of white queers have racism envy because there's a tendency to define themselves via "victimhood" rather than existence and that will always be a shaky foundation to legitimacy/the self. it's why you'll see their engagement w/ the struggles of poc start and end in such self serving ways....my issues are the same as (minority of choice) and that's the only time i'll mention them, to prop myself up....my suffering is legitimized by a suffering i consider undeniable. but not only is that an extremely, extremely racist way to see people of color, to act like we are not Constantly Denied lmao, to see us as as babies who need to be spoken for, to define our existence through suffering yet make no effort to see what we actually go through, to use us as props, to discard and abandon us as soon as we are not useful to their self masturbatory causes. it's all ultimately for them, to make themselves feel better. it's why they turn so viciously on any person of color as soon as they're not to their benefit anymore, as soon as they can convince themselves that we're the "real perpetrators" and themselves the "real victims" via so and so. if they're called them out, held accountable, if their rhetoric isn't humored or coddled. because now we're people instead of martyred caricatures to leech the life out of. and that's why everyone talks like that now.
