Spoilers for Lohen's Story Quest//
I know it literally just came out but I have got to talk about it
Lohen is so unapologetically anti-social. He pays us to be his 'friend' His dissection of his benevolent and knightly actions in Nod Krai are so incorrect it's comical. We also get to do an Assassin's Creed gameplay (did I top up for that alone... yeah)
Lohen gets physically and emotionally drained being near children and animals. He wants nothing more than to get away from this boring shit and go have a fight somewhere. It's beautiful.
Now as for the meat of the quest.
Lohen makes a choice that is inherently evil. He works for a Long time with Theodore (his kidnapped buddy) to use Ursa for power. He abducts monsters for experiments supernatural season 6 Castiel and Crowley style. The exact same way he witnessed the Fatui do when he was a child.
He is so mocking of how weak Theodore is even though they could have given the two of them a brotherly bond they didn't. Lohen orders he be the one tested upon to give him power. While Theodore's goal is to save Adorno's life Lohen scorns the idea of even spending time with the man. Yet care sneaks in... don't over do it don't accidentally kill Adorno.
Lohen of course being the one to step in and say enough when it IS gonna kill Adorno. His sense of right and wrong is fucked up and all over the place. But he can work on inherently selfish desires for now. Adorno dying doesn't align with those desires.
And Lohen's conclusion at the end isn't that power is bad. Isn't that he should be content with how strong he already has become. No his conclusion it taking it right back to the very start. Lohen isn't willing to be controlled. So power with conditions of obedience isn't really Lohen's power it's not what he's looking for.
He rejects Ursa on the grounds of it's not the right kind of power. And then he seeks his own power in his Witch Homework fighting strong people just as he was before.
Now here's what really made this a 10/10 quest for me.
Consequences in MY genshin impact?? Lohen gets his chance at inheriting a title revoked, his promotion is revoked. And he is obviously uncaring because he never wanted those titles especially not when he knew he was never worthy. And the entire quest Lohen was entirely uneasy at the prospect of being granted things that aren't him. In a complete parallel to how he rejected the power that wasn't his own.
But I am so glad they didn't do an instant 180 on Lohen's personality where he realizes what he's doing is wrong therefore he 'realizes' the way he is as a person is wrong.
Lohen damn near spits on Theodore over come with no other word I can use than disgust at how weak he thinks Theodore is. How pathetic he views him to be.
Lohen takes the consequences on the chin and then keeps being exactly how he always has been. Most notably Lohan literally doesn't apologize to anybody. He says he'll take responsibility but that is all. He's clearly going to keep drugging his knights and charging into fights ahead of everybody else. Just no more secret dragon experiments
