Problematic because: "he's the kind of vampire prince who says “law and order” when he mostly means “everyone do what i want before i start executing people.” the game starts with him having the fledgling’s sire executed for an illegal embrace (transformation into vampire), then sparing the fledgling only because nines pushes back hard enough that killing them too would make him look bad. after that, lacroix turns this brand-new vampire into his personal errand-runner, sending them into sabbat warehouses, ghost ships, museums, clan politics, vampire hunters, and basically every horrible job he doesn’t want to risk his actual court on. his own dialogue is very clear that this “clemency” is a trial, and the fledgling has to prove they’re useful. then the bigger plot is just one long power grab. lacroix wants the ankaran sarcophagus because he thinks there may be an ancient vampire inside whose blood he can use for power, and he keeps dressing that up as protecting the city. he has grout killed and helps frame nines for it, works with ming xiao when it suits him, betrays her when she stops being useful, calls a blood hunt on nines, and later can call one on the fledgling too just to clean up his own mess. he’s not the strongest vampire in l.a., which is exactly why he’s so dangerous - he’s insecure, ambitious, cornered, and willing to turn every person around him into a pawn if it gets him one step closer to looking like the prince he wants everyone to believe he is."

"he's hilarious because he spends the entire game treating the fledgling like disposable baby vampire labour and then gets increasingly mad when they become the most competent person in los angeles. like sir. you sent them everywhere. you made them solve every crisis. you used them as your little political multitool. and then you’re shocked when they come back with opinions? embarrassing. he’s awful, but he’s a perfect vtm character because he’s all hierarchy and manners and “respect the traditions” until the second his own ambition is on the line. then suddenly it’s frame nines, betray ming xiao, hunt the fledgling, open the forbidden vampire coffin, whatever gets him the win. terrible prince. excellent drama generator."

"He’s so funny to me because he clearly wants to be this intimidating Ventrue statesman, but half his scenes feel like watching a man frantically rearrange papers on a desk while the building burns down. He talks down to you constantly, acts like he’s doing you a favour by not killing you, and then keeps handing you tasks because apparently every other vampire in his organisation is there for decoration."
Problematic because: "he falls off of his horse and asks for help getting back up because he's very sickly, and when people help him he gives them bombs disguised as apples. he's exploding people for fun. also forcefemmed some guys"
