I think that part of what irks me about AI being used even for "small" stuff like meme graphics (aside from all the larger problems obviously) is like.... the time spent on it was part of the humor. "this is a silly inconsequential joke but I had to stop everything and spend 5 minutes making it" was, at least for me, part of the joke. Someone really took time out of their day to make me look at something silly they took time out of their day to make. Now it's like someone took time out of my day to make me look at something no one even made. Stop wasting my time if you aren't wasting yours too.

watching a scene with a fav character can be so humiliating sometimes. like yes i'm watching this scene with this character because i want to see the character. yes i've paused it multiple times because i got too excited. before the character fully entered the screen even. guhhhh

Characters will make a very nuanced choice that makes sense for their story arc and internal conflict, and audience members will be like "is anyone else going to misconstrue this in the most black and white, bad faith manner possible?"

one of the things that claudia says during the seance that i’ve been thinking about is when she refers to the pages louis read to bruce as being from her “little girl diary”. throughout the interview both daniel and the show itself point out the holes in louis’ story— he is an unreliable source of information, but we are presented with claudia’s word as objective historical record. daniel acknowledges it as such, but louis takes it a step further in presenting them as who claudia was, a complete account of the daughter he lost. and the show accepts this, santiago reads her words as evidence in the trial, and we as the audience build a picture of claudia that combines every diary entry into one simultaneous understanding of who she was. there’s no regard for the fact that she changed as a person over the course of writing them, or even that her written record might be unreliable. the diaries that should give her depth as a person flatten her out into a historical object no different than the dress she died in
