In my mind, Dr. Smiley is almost always in a state of euphoria. He seems to be a very happy guy, always smiling. Maybe you can call it a state of mania? He isn't entirely human, which is what draws Gabriel to him initially.

He enjoys "helping" his patients, or more accurately, he enjoys the act of surgery, especially when someone's life is in his hands, yknow?

He doesn't take particularly good care of himself, however. I imagine he's very underweight. He probably only eats quick and easy foods. I think he would cut his own hair, too. He just has that vibe to me. Hes less Put together and more crazed to me.

His relationship with Gabriel is very transactional. For the longest time, Gabriel would use Smiley as a form of body disposal. In return, he would provide Smiley with food, chemicals, tools, and whatever he wants. This was until Gabriel hired an official "custodian"

He likes to preserve the bodies. Maybe he takes organs from them and preserves them in jars. This also satiates his want for fresh victims, so it will keep authorities away for both Gabe and Smiley. It doesn't give him the same feeling of enjoyment, though.

He's fond of Gabriel. He enjoys their "banter" and has somewhat onesided feelings of affection for him. These feelings used to be reciprocated until Gabriel became more familiar with Smiley.

Dr. Smiley is still very fond of Gabriel

Gabriel Sinner owns a somewhat large laboratory in the countryside of France, far from any towns or cities, deep in a forest through old trails and dirt roads. He studies paranormal and psychic abilities and has a number of "test subjects." People whose abilities have left them nowhere to go, and they allow Gabriel to study their abilities, they also work in the lab.

Hes the unofficial "father" to a small group of teens whose abilities are the most powerful and that he is most interested in, so they get mostly free reign of the lab, also appointed as Lab Assistants (Skully Rogers, Carl Brenner, and Caz Sinner)

He's a chain smoker and partakes in wine frequently. He's a strong believer in a cigarette for breakfast. Some would call him a pathetic shut-in, but he goes to the nearest town for supplies monthly, so he's not entirely a "shut-in"

He doesn't care for his health and is obsessive about his work, to his detriment.

Smiley's "office" is a run-down abandoned building, somewhat close to Gabriel's office, down some backroad that no one really uses, and he uses this to his benefit.

Smiley refuses to live in Gabriel's lab. He enjoys his privacy and especially enjoys how uneasy Gabriel gets when he has to enter Smiley's home.

Gabriel used to be fascinated with Smiley, he wanted desperately to study him and mistook this for feelings of attraction. Gabriel also definitely has some feelings of fear towards Smiley, seeing him as unpredicatable and dangerous.

They were somewhat on and off and then Off for good. Not much happened in their on time to be fair.

Gabriel still provides Smiley with what he needs to survive, any bodies that Gabriel may end up with, and still visits him to chat if he feels especially lonely.
