From J-14, December 2001
In the words of Brink Brinker from DCoM's (Disney Channel Original Movie) Brink!, "Skate Better!(Mom why didn't I think of that)
Feeling an enormous amount of writer's block for the past several months but I HAVE so much stuff written in my drafts, it's just all disconnected bits of things, so I might just start posting them here so I feel like I'm doing something
From a S6 au where Buffy comes back part angel (Working Title "Slayer Wings"):
***
“Well,” Spike murmured, running his fingers through the ends of her golden locks. “Demons and monsters, at any rate. Your friends, maybe, if I can talk my way out of it. Wouldn’t be much use against other humans, though.”
She pulled back, tilting her head at him, her eyes confused and her brow all furrowed.Â
He pointed to his temple. “Chip.”
“Oh,” she said. She closed her eyes, and held her hand out, palm up.
For the life of him, Spike had no idea what she was waiting for. But then she… she sodding glowed, only for a second, and in the next second, a tiny piece of metal was lying in her palm.
Spike tried to speak, only to find that his mouth was already hanging open. He closed it, since words didn’t seem to be coming, and reached forward a shaking hand to pluck the thing out of her hand.
“There,” she whispered, and leaned into his chest. “Safe now.”
“Buffy, how—”

I started to ponder the disabilities my OCs live with.
Sarit Ramesh has permanent scarring in her lungs from the horrible environmental conditions of her youth. Her childhood was spent largely bedridden because of this, and the numerous illnesses and infections that came from it.
As an adult, Sarit no longer has her right arm, and instead needs a prosthetic. Granted, she did that to herself, as part of a pathological need to replace parts of her body with cybernetics. Growing up so weak and physically poor instilled a desire to cut out her physical imperfections, and replace them with machinery.
Sarit has also added tech to her brain, as well as the obvious circuitry and mods just under her skin.
Kallian Tabris suffers from Intermittent Explosive Disorder. Which makes her intense anger often manifest in explosive and destructive episodes.
She also has a learning disability, which makes it difficult for her to master certain skills, such as writing and mathematics. Fortunately, Kallian is also determined and spiteful enough to work even with her disability. And during the events of DAO, her companions tutored Kallian so she could read and write. And later, she taught her illiterate father the same lessons she learned, so they could send letters to each other when Kallian was away. Kallian also slowly taught herself Orlesian, so later in life, she could speak to Leliana in her partner's native language.
Nathan Bhatia suffered a traumatic brain injury while fighting in the Resource Wars. He has trouble controlling his emotions and is prone to wild mood swings both positive and negative in stressful situations. He also developed claustrophobia and suffered severe burns from the same event, spending hours trapped inside a destroyed suit of power armor while its power core burned him alive. About 40% of Nathan's body, including part of his face, is visibly burned.
Zoe Iwasaki has PTSD, depression and anxiety, mostly stemming from horrific abuse from her parents. (Her father especially) Following the disastrous heist and having Silverhand's personality eat away at her brain, Zoe developed severe body dysmorphia, which threw off her sense of balance and coordination, as well as several other embarrassing side effects.
Brink is partially blind. In their old life, before the events of the game, one of the Dark Urge's victims fought back just enough to gouge her left eye out of her skull before they were horribly murdered. In a moment of vanity, the Dark Urge replaced the empty socket with a polished piece of obsidian. There are no enchantments or magical properties to the prosthetic, it's just a black void meant to look intimidating.
Post-tadpole, Brink remembers none of this. They just have to adapt to having limited vision.
