I was going to draw more fanart of Elle but then I got the urge to build Elle and Avid's cabin in the woods. Thought I'd share here too.
This is the place where Elle and Avid spent most of their teens and early adulthood, studying alchemy and training for the fight against the supernatural. This is the place where they tried to find a cure for their afflictions. This is where a best friend and partner was lost. This is where a woman who's world was bright and vibrant, was lost to the darkness.
A red sun would rise as Elle Griswold, for the final time, would bid a final goodbye to her best friend and she would leave her home in the woods for good.
Hands down, Pyro. That boy deserved the world and instead he got Scott and an insatiable hunger. He came from a relatable background (neglectful family, bullying), and I just wanted to see him thrive as a vampire. Instead, he found his way into Scott's fangs and became unstable and broken.
Which POVs have you watched?
I've watched all the povs up until about episode 5 then I had some irl issues that kept me away from the series. It wasn't until recently when I got to see the complete series of Scott, Owen, and Legundo. I'm currently working on watching all of Pyro's, and after that, idk who I'll watch. I want to watch most of the povs in full but I'm on the fence about watching Avid's because of what's been going on.
What’s a plotpoint you wish they explored more?
hm...that's a tough question. I'm pretty satisfied with where the story has gone but I would've liked to see more of Owen and Scott teaching Pyro about how to be a vampire, and just more of the original 4 coven members together. I also would've liked to see the castle fully complete with decor and everything.
oh! after writing this...Renhardt Dogmourne. I would've loved to see him as a vampire and find out what he truly sounded like. It's a shame that he died after Martyn was killed. Ooh, and speaking of Martyn, I would've loved to see him be changed by Apo's blood. if I recall, we didn't get to see much of a difference from before he fell off the bridge to after.
What about you? What plot point do you wish they explored more?
Guys what if for vsmp fics moving forward, we just swap Avid and Elle. Avid's dead and gone and Elle gets to be Oakhurst's resident badass. Best of both worlds and more lesbian ships.

Elle, being transfem, was raised as a boy so she never had the chance to wear women's clothing. And even when she grew up and got a cabin in the woods with her partner, she never really considered trying women's clothing -- the people of their village were too conservative and when you're a hunter, you want form-fitting clothes to make fighting easier. Plus, being in the body of a male, I feel like she would be self-conscious about how manly her body is and would believe that she wouldn't look good in a dress.
I imagine the first time she ever has a chance to try on dresses and get all dolled up is sometime after she makes friends with the women of Oakhurst, whether that be before or after half of them get turned into vampires, idk.

What’s your personal headcanon of what Elle was affected with because the idea that she got the demon thing and then gave Avid the demon thing is fine but I like to believe Avid had the Demon thing for a while and Elle had something completely different which was the catalyst to Avid going demony.
hm...well, when I first saw Avid's series (I never finished watching it), I had the theory that Avid was turning into a werewolf. It wasn't until recently when I was looking at the vsmp wiki that I learned that Avid was infected by a demon and it was cured when he became a vampire.
I have two ideas when it comes to my Elle lore.
Idea #1
Elle is infected by Avid when he attacks her in a feral state and the infection slowly consumes her like it did in canon to Avid. I'm leaning towards this one because I've been imagining that as the infection takes over her, the wound she has festers and blackens and spread like a web from where she was injured. The infection slowly changes her, makes her stronger and alters her body physically (ex: giving her pointed ears and sharp claws).
I'm leaning towards that idea but there is another idea.
Idea #2
Avid is infected first by a demon and Elle tries to help him find a cure. In her helping, she'd still work jobs where she hunts monsters and maybe on one of those jobs, she herself gets attacked by something, most likely a werewolf. She returns to Avid and despite trying to hide the injury from him, she starts changing -- at first just feeling more hungry and maybe feeling restless and a bit stronger, then it'd turn into breaking things unintentionally and being irritated and feeling like she's starving. after that, maybe she blacks out once or twice and finds that she's either lashed out at Avid or lashed out at some local wildlife.
Avid would realize that something is wrong and he'd try to fix her instead of working on a cure for himself but in doing so, his own infection would grow stronger until he finds himself losing control. By the time he realizes that he's losing control, it'll be too late and he soon turns feral.
If I go with the second idea, Avid would still leave a gnarly wound on Elle but I think the werewolf infection would combat the demon infection and would win out in the end (I like to write werewolves as being fairly warm and the infected person feeling like they're burning from the inside out as they change. burning infection would mean that it overpowers other infections). She'd still be injured and have to cover the area, but she wouldn't be turning into a demon.
Idea #3 (came up with it just now) & Final Thoughts
there is a third idea and it's like the second, except that instead of the werewolf infection winning, it's some mutant mixture of the two. I'm less in favor of this idea though because to me, it makes Elle feel more like an overpowered mary sue. I want her to have only one infection, whether that be demon or werewolf, and I'm starting to think after writing out my thoughts, that a werewolf Elle would be totally badass. Demon Elle would still be cool too but she would be 100% feral monster whereas Werewolf Elle would be about 50-65% feral monster with 35-50% being a normal human.
in your opinion, which of the vsmp cast is the most tragic? whose backstory is the most gut wrenching? which arc is a tragedy all on its own? who deserved better?
These are some good questions. It's taken me a bit of time to come up with some answers, but I hope the answers are satisfactory. This post might get a bit long, so I'm going to put all my answers under a read more line.
which of the vsmp cast is the most tragic?
The answer to that would have to be Pyro or Dr. Legundo.
Pyro is a damaged man who has been bullied by his peers and neglected by his family. From what we know, Pyro's family pressured him to succeed in all assets of life and would reward him with love if he did succeed, or they'd distance themselves and ignore him when he didn't. Add onto the bullying from his peers (especially Czesław), and you're looking at someone who's so starved for love that he'll latch onto the first person that gives him any sort of reason for living, even if that reason is an ancient vampire that is more interested in toying with humans and building a castle than caring for those he sires.
Dr. Legundo is a man who has seen war, seen hundreds, if not thousands of people die -- whether by his own hands or by those he served for. He knows that he's a monster for what he's done but he's trying to do better, to be better, and to do some good before his time is done. All he wants to do is to help people, to help the townsfolk of Oakhurst, but the more he tries, the more he fails -- it's like trying to hold sand. the more he tries, the tighter he holds, the more the sand just slips through his fingers. He's a man who's doomed to fail.
whose backstory is the most gut wrenching?
I don't know all the backstories, but the one that always got to me was Owen's.
Owen was sick as a human and was ostracized for it. People avoided him like the plague. Can you imagine what that could do to a man? To a child? Humans, especially children, need socialization, they need others in their life. To grow up having no one love him, to have nobody even hold his hand, it's heartbreaking. All he wanted was to be treated like a person.
Imagine his relief when finally, finally someone is willing to talk to him like a person, to hold his hand as if he won't make them sick, to treat him as a human instead of some disgusting creature. Louis was the best thing that could have ever happened to him, he treated Owen like a human and wasn't afraid to be near him, to touch him. Louis took him into his care and offered a cure.
Imagine that you're Owen. Wouldn't you take the cure too? To finally live life like a normal person? You wouldn't be sick anymore, wouldn't be someone that others would turn away from, wouldn't be someone that people refused to touch, you wouldn't be ostracized and treated like a monster. You be seen as a person, for the first time in your life. So, Owen took what Louis was offering.
And then…Louis was taken from him. The one good person he had ever met in his life, who treated him like a person and who cured him, was stolen from him. Imagine the heartbreak when he awakes for the first time as new person and finds that the one he loves was stolen, was taken from him and put on a pyre.
Owen just wanted to be a person, to love and be loved in return, and when he finally gets that, the universe tears it away from him and tells him, no, you are a monster and you don't deserve a man like Louis. Having your one love torn away from you and the universe turn on you, wouldn't you want to rip your claws into it to? To destroy everything in your path and leave nothing standing?
Because I would. If I was in Owen's place, I would probably want to see the world burn too and when it's over, I would want to just bury myself and sleep, and hope to god that I never wake again. I would like to think that I would be better than him, but I know if I was in his place, I wouldn't be. I'd like to think that I might take the olive branch that Dr. Legundo offers, but if I was as twisted as Owen was, I probably wouldn't.
which arc is a tragedy all on its own?
this is a tougher question to answer, because there's three.
You have Pyro, a man who's been neglected and bullied his entire young life. He deserves to be treated well, to be loved and cared for, but instead he gets turned into a monster. He finds himself at the mercy of a toxic man who toys with him until he's so twisted around that he doesn't know who's friend or who's foe anymore.
Then you have Dr. Legundo, a monster in the guise of a man who tries his damnedest to do some good before his time ends. He just wants to help people and then die, but instead of getting a final rest, he has what little remains of his humanity stripped away from him against his will.
And then you have Owen, a man so lonely who only ever wanted one thing, and when he finally got it, it was ripped from him and turned to ash on a burning pyre. The universe turned it's back on him time and time again so of course, when he finally gets to see his love again, it's as he's being thrown into Hell.
who deserved better?
Hands down? Pyro.
Pyro deserved to be loved and cared for, to have friends and family who wouldn't hold their love hostage and use it like a weapon -- rewarding him when he did something to their liking or taking it away from him when he failed them. He didn't deserve to be turned against his will, to be twisted into a monster by Scott's hand, and certainly didn't deserve to be played with like a toy.
Everyone else got what they were owed. Many of the townsfolk left Oakhurst with a new lease on life (or stayed in Cleo and Pearl's case). The Doctor left the world on his own terms after having helped the people of Oakhurst. Owen got what he deserved, a reservation in Hell for all the lives he stole and the people he hurt.
But Pyro? What did he get? He got Scott, a monster disguised as a man who played with those around him until he got bored, who chewed others up and spit them out again, who could charm others with ease, who could treat you well one day but then turn around and knock you down the next. If Pyro wasn't involved with Scott, I'd like to think he would've been a better man and would've gotten the love he deserved from those around him.
If I was Pyro's sire, I would shower that man in so much love and affection that he wouldn't know what to do with himself. I would build him a castle and lavish him in pretty things. I would burn the world if it ever tried to take him from me.

How do you think Elle would react to Scott? Disgust? Intrigue? Nuance?
hm…I think from the get-go, Elle would be afraid of him. She'd clock Scott right away as something dangerous and someone to stay away from, and she'd probably have the same feelings towards Owen. But Scott, Scott is much older and more powerful than anyone around him knows or suspects, and while he doesn't show that right away, I imagine he still has a certain air around him that just screams Warning! Danger! Stay away!
I'd like to think she'd be smart enough to not scream from the rooftops that Scott is a vampire, but she is fairly traumatized from whatever turned her friend into a monster so she might just start warning people that Scott is dangerous and that everyone should stay away from him.
As time goes on though, and Scott's revealed to be a vampire, Elle's views on what vampires are will change from feral monster that can't discern friend from foe to vampires are actually sentient and able to hold conversations like a normal human? what? She'll still definitely be terrified of him and hesitant to be around him, but she'll want to talk to him and the other vampires, and she'll want to try to learn more about them and why they're not as she imagined or believed them to be.
After turning, Elle would probably be less afraid of Scott, but not completely unafraid. Like I said, Scott is old and powerful and he'll have an air about him. She'll certainly be wary of spending any time alone with him in a room, but she won't feel the need to run away screaming. I think the more time she spends with him, the more she'll get used to being around him and she'll want to use him as a knowledge base for learning about vampires.
The only time she'll ever be disgusted by Scott is by thinking about him in any form of romantic sense. I've said in this post here that Pyro would get jealous of her spending time with HIS Sire and monopolizing his time, and he would confront her thinking that she's falling for Scott and wants him for her own. If Elle is one thing, it's a lover of women and if she were to fall for anyone, it would be Shelby or Drift, or both.
I'd like to think that at the end of everything, she would come to find Scott as someone to admire, whether that be for his power or his knowledge, or just for the easy way he can charm anyone, even the most violent of men into listening to him. She'll still have times where she's wary of him, particularly when he's in a bad mood, but she won't be nearly as terrified of him as she was when she first found her way into Oakhurst.

I was just getting back into vampires smp and planning out fanfics when I learned about a certain minecraft youtuber who had a decent sized part in vsmp (I won't name them). I don't want them in my fics but it'll be difficult to erase their presence so here's what I'm planning to do.

I'm going to replace them with a character from their backstory - Elle. the story will be reversed and it will be Elle that comes to Oakhurst, traumatized and looking for a cure for an affliction that is slowly devouring her from the inside out. She will have lost her hunter partner and best friend to whatever it was that afflicted him, and she will be the one who drove a stake through his heart thinking that he was a vampire.
Elle will be much the same as the original character, but she'll try to keep her distance more and won't publicly confront the vampires of Oakhurst as much - there might be times when she'll freak out of course, like the oc did a few times, but she won't be screaming from the rooftops from the get go and desperately trying to convince everyone that vampires are real and they're among them (the townsfolk) right now!
I think once she realizes that whatever's afflicting her is getting worse, she'll want to be turned, and she'll still go to Shelby to do it because they will still be good friends (and she may perhaps might have a bit of a crush on Shelby but shhh that's a secret).
With Elle, she won't flirt with Scott like the original character. She might compliment him or admire him, but she won't get infatuated with him. She'll probably also want to ask him questions about vampirism to find out if what her friend became was a vampire or not - she'll also try to figure this out with Shelby.
It's undecided if she'll still have beef with Owen but I'd like to think she would just for the fact that he was always creeping around trying to spook her, Drift, and Shelby (mostly her and Drift). I'd like to think though that she pulls him aside one day and tries to bury the hatchet stake (haha get it?) Whether or not he accepts a truce is up for debate.
She will take to vampirism well now that she's not longer afraid of turning into a feral monster, and while she won't be the strongest among the Coven, she will be able to hold her own if it comes to a fight.
She and Pyro may have some beef when he sees her monopolizing his Sire's time and he'll at first believe that she wants Scott all to herself, whether that be romantically or not. They may have a fight and it'll come to light that no, she's not interested in Scott like that - in fact! she's disgusted by the thought of him like that and would rather stake herself and light herself on fire than kiss him, let alone have a romantic interest in him. Besides, she has Shelby and Drift, why would she want anyone else?
Pyro will be delighted to hear this and will be more accepting of her, I would hope. He might still have bouts of jealousy but it won't get to the point where he conspires with Owen to murder her for flirting with his Sire.
And that's all I've got for now on Elle. Well, that and this unfinished drawing of her...
I tried to keep the pose the same as the original vsmp character this is based on and the outfit is pretty much the same too because why not? It's my version of Elle and she is supposed to be a replacement for the oc. This drawing is a bit more simple than the original but that's just how I draw.
I also changed a couple things by giving her a satchel and some sewn patches on her pants because it's hard to find a tailor while you're hunting monsters that lurk in the shadows. One fun fact is that Elle is trans! She is a transfemale who is a lesbian and would one day like to settle down and live a peaceful life with her partner (or partners).

I finished the portrait for Elle Griswold, the replacement character for one of the original cast. I think she turned out pretty good.

I wanted to keep her design fairly close to the original character, but I did change a few things.
One thing I changed was that the bandages are below her tunic. My reasoning is that the wound she suffered from her friend she killed is closer to being in the area where her neck, shoulder, and collarbone are. It won't be a small scratch, it'll be a larger clawed gash, and it doesnt make sense for the bandages to be on the outside of the clothing.
Another thing was her pants. The grey pants of the ovc (original vampires character) were nice, but I wanted a different color, and looking more tattered because she is a monster hunter and she can't take time in the middle of a hunt to find a town with a tailor.
I also gave her a satchel because what's a hunter without a satchel that holds various hunting gear? in it she has a bottle of holy water, an extra stake, a journal and quill to document monsters and her affliction, a sewing kit, and a few medical supplies like bandages.
