(two images for scaling) this kinda really frustrates me, like im sure tubbo knows something i don't here with his organising experience and whatever but i think he's missing that midoffs is big because 1. he's tubbo and has reach/influence and 2. its kind of just a good concept that people want to watch and is difficult to do badly? i honestly don't think if he had initially chosen different coaches it would have made that huge of a difference esp since from what i understand a lot of midoffs views come from the audience of the players rather than the coaches.

even if the original coaches were the main reason for the success of midoffs 1 i still don't think that really justifies this. i get that he wants to do a nice thing for the original coaches and show gratitude or whatever but to me it just feels like he's reluctant to make a change and take a chance that might lose some viewers. esp since some of them don't even seem to want to do it in the first place? i don't think the feelings of the original coaches matter over keeping the event fresh and using it as a way to introduce ppl to the mcsr community, i honestly think some of them would agree with me on this and not mind stepping down 😭

also, not to keep on abt the gender ratio with the format of 8 main coaches who are always the same and then 8 assistant coaches who occasionally change ur inherently limited in the number of women who can be coaches . like a 1/8 ratio is so diabolical in the first place (and that being the best it's ever been too) but i only ever see it going up to like 1/4 or 1/3 with this format and it's like. tubbo has a massive platform and the ability to get tons of new people interested in mcsr streamers so the choice to keep it so male dominated is certainly interesting. it also starts to raise questions abt like. what does it even mean to be a main coach or an assistant coach when u look at the split and which players are main/assistant coaches 😭

also ive seen people saying that it isn't tubbos choice because not enough high level players are interested or not enough women are interested which is like. just in the past couple of days ive seen multiple ppl who are experienced and enthusiastic players and well known within the mcsr community (though not as well known as hbg i guess) express interest in coaching, many of them women, so that just fully is not true.
