Nobody cares anyway.

Summary: Aizawa leaves the classroom to find answers. What he finds instead is confirmation that the problem is bigger than 1-A.

Aizawa stood very still in the corridor with his back to the classroom door and inhaled slowly, trying to force himself to relax. 

The corridor felt just as dark as the classroom.

That shouldn’t have been a surprise; Bakugo’s explosions had told him that the problem wasn’t darkness. He hadn't believed that vision would return when he walked outside.

Only… standing there feeling his own heart beating rapidly in his chest, he realized that some small part of him had expected exactly that.

But he couldn’t see here either. Which meant…

No. Not yet. Remember rule one.

He worked in the dark all the time, he reminded himself. He knew the layout of the school. He could do this.

Like, basic premise, everyone on the UA campus is blinded. Immediately, irreversibly. (Though they don’t know that at first) Aizawa loses his quirk by default, everyone is scared and panicking and the whole thing sounds pretty bleak, right? And yet…

We have All Might buying out the city’s entire stock of accessible boardgames and playing cards. And nobody being able to play them yet anyway.

We have Iida declaring war on badly organised common areas, and moving the furniture to make it more efficient, which only makes it worse

We have worried parents creating a group chat to share information, which eventually devolves into a more normal parent group, leading to the horrifying idea that Izuku’s mom sends embarrassing baby photos of him and Endeavor sees them.

We have Aizawa helping the students through the worst thing that’s ever happened to them, while barely holding himself together

We have a shorthand developing between the 1A students where ‘homework’ becomes a code word for a coping strategy. And then we have Aizawa co-opting that and using it on Mic.

We have Mic going on live TV and single handedly destroying the “inspirational” narrative the studio is trying to push. And then accidentally becoming a bit of an activist as a result

We have the students slowly learning that they can still be heroes.
