The most amazing part is how the water droplet magnifies the Hornet's mouth parts, so you get to see them up-close!!!! It was FASCINATING to witness!

The tarantula that bit JRR Tolkien as a child.

He swore he didn’t have a spider phobia and the experience had nothing to do with the man-eating giant spiders in The Hobbit, the even more giant and even more man-eating spider in Lord of the Rings, or the unholy eldritch spider from outside creation that plunged the world into darkness and made literal Satan scream like a little kid in the Silmarillion. Very few people believe him.

After a villain attack leaves everyone caught in U.A.’s main school building blind, Class 1-A are told to stay where they are and wait for help. At first, everyone assumes it will wear off. It doesn’t. With no miracle cure coming, Aizawa and his students have to work out what it means to keep going when the future they trained for suddenly feels out of reach.

Yamada reached for the packaged onigiri on his plate, carefully opened it and took an experimental bite.

Umeboshi. That was okay, he could live with that, though he had been hoping for tuna mayo.

His phone buzzed again in his pocket. It had been ringing on and off throughout the afternoon and evening, a random selection of text messages and call attempts. He had ignored them all. Not easily. He hated that his phone was full of messages that he couldn’t read, but he had tried to put it out of his mind.

This wasn’t a text message. He could tell because it kept ringing, a different vibration pattern. It continued insistently, stopped as voicemail tried to pick up the call, then started again almost instantly. Somebody really wanted to speak to him.

He carefully placed the half-eaten onigiri down on his plate, fingers touching the rim of the plate as he did to confirm that he had placed it correctly, then he reached down with one hand and touched the shape of the phone in his pocket.

It could be his parents attempting a video call because they had learned from the news that he might not be able to read a text. It could be his producer at Hero FM. It could just be a friend calling to check on him.

Most likely, though, it was the radio station. He was due on air in a few hours, and he should have called them already. He had the number saved. He could have instructed his phone to call at any moment. He had been waiting until he knew more, holding out until he started to see some improvement, holding on to the idea that maybe, if it got better quickly, he would be able to get there in time to start his show as scheduled.

But he wasn’t seeing improvement. He wasn’t seeing anything. He needed to let them know, so that they could arrange cover. It was the professional thing to do.

It didn’t mean he wasn’t going to get better. All it meant was that it wasn’t going to happen in time for tonight’s show.

There's been a number of people reporting over on the AO3 subreddit that they're getting messages like this posted in the comments shortly after posting new fics.

The AO3 team are NEVER going to try and contact you about TOS violations via the comment section (or about anything else for that matter)

Don't click any links. Report the accounts involved (which might claim to be things like "LucySupport"), delete the message and move on.

So piracy is at worst not even a problem, and at best it's free advertisement.

it’s not weird to love it and comment and leave kudos because the author will probably still see it someday and it will make them happy.

it’s not weird to like said author’s work so much that you want to go look for other fics from them.

it’s not weird to go through the authors profile and look for other fics from the ships you like (or maybe some that you’ll give a chance because you liked the author) and maybe bookmark them for later.

it’s not weird to read these other fics and like them too and comment on them because you actually like them and you want to let the author know.

it’s not weird to read fanfiction from 5, or 8, or 10 years ago and actually enjoy and engage with it because it’s perfectly normal to relate to something that’s less than a decade old!

let’s stop treating fanfiction like they’re instagram posts that stop being interesting in 24 hours! fanfiction is NOT social media, fanfiction is art!!! and art doesn’t get old in one day, one year, or even a decade!
