A client of mine’s daughter had pregnancy complications and ended up miscarrying in the hospital. When she was discharged, heartbroken, she and her husband were leaving to begin to make plans for a little funeral when one of the hospital staff stopped them and said “here it is,” handing them a brown paper lunchbag with the body in it, and walked off without any kind or consoling words. Striken by the indignity of it, left without instructions, and still recovering, they didn’t know what else to do except take it home and put it in their refridgerator so that it wouldn’t decay as fast while they tried to make funeral arraingements.

Can you imagine the horror? You just unexpectedly lost your child, and it’s body is handed to you in a rude sack, leaving you with no other options except to keep it in your fridge?

And my client, as she was telling me this traumatic story, tearing up herself because she shared her daughter’s grief and loved the grandbaby that didn’t make it, thought she needed to emphasize to me how much of a loss it was because “it was a wanted baby.”

The pro-choice culture where I live is so vulgar and prominant that hospitals toss the remains of your unborn child to you as if it was nothing, and a greiving grandmother feels like she has to justify her sorrow by clarifying that it was a “wanted” child, to not go against the culture of “it’s perfectly fine to abort your pregnancy if you don’t want a baby!” But there is no difference between an unborn child who is wanted and one who is not. They are the same from every biological and moral standpoint.

“What do they do with them?“ I asked. I wish to God I hadn’t, because this was the answer.

”Medical waste.“

Those were my babies.

And even worse:

Not a single person at the hospital acknowledged I was hurting. That this was clearly a wanted child. I sat there in pre-op with tears staining my face, and not a single person expressed anything even remotely resembling sympathy.

When my cat died a few years ago, the vet and multiple techs said they were sorry for my loss.

When my friend was actively going through a miscarriage her boss didn’t want to let her leave. She was fired because she did. Let me make this clear, she wasn’t just waiting on the baby to pass, she was actively cramping and bleeding and passing the baby at work.

Its not the service or the treatment she received at the NICU hospital, the 3 stress filled months filled with daily trips to the hospital to visit my little brother in the NICU unit until he could come home, with oxygen and a heart monitor just before Halloween.  No the thing that sticks out clearest in her mind is the nurse who checked her into our local hospital who classified her contractions as a miscarriage and wrote off my brother as dead already but it was ok because he wasn’t really a baby.

My brother was born 1lb 7oz  in July of 2002 and he will graduate from high school in June.  We have a picture of him next to my dad’s hand and he’s just bigger than my dad’s palm and now he’s almost 6 foot and was bragging about splitting a tractor in his diesel mechanics class.

Moreover, victims of a non-fatal attack of this kind have also been found to be some seven times more likely to become the victim of an attempted homicide by the same perpetrator (Strack, McClane, and Hawley 2001).

Yet many states in America do not have a specific statute making strangulation a crime (relegating it to a simple assault; typically a misdemeanor) (Turkel 2008).

Strangulation is a prevalent form of intimate partner violence, in addition to sometimes taking place within other family relationships.

It doesn’t appear to be limited to certain geographical areas; its existence tends to be confirmed wherever data are available. (…)

Another point to note: strangulation is torture.

Researchers draw a comparison between strangulation and waterboarding, both in how it feels—painful, terrifying—and its subsequent social meaning.

It is characterized as a demonstration of authority and domination (Sorenson, Joshi, and Sivitz 2014).

As such, together with its gendered nature, it is a type of action paradigmatic of misogyny, according to the account of it I develop in these pages.

The fact that these men like to choke women in the first place should be the main focus but because of pro-choice sexposi feminism the attention shifts to the main issue being about “consent”.

As if women haven’t been groomed by porn and a patriarchal society to endure pain during sex as long as it turns men on. As if “consent” absolves the very motive which makes men seek consent y these sexual experiences: misogyny.

Men desiring to physically hurt women during sex is part of rape culture and no “safe word” or hiding behind some community with an acronym ( BDSM) as if it’s just a cute little club takes away the fact that men experience sexual pleasure in torturing women.

Now if you can’t connect that type of sexual sadism with the prevalent SA and rape that women have faced then I don’t know what to tell you, only that you’re painfully dense.

The indoctrination never stops.

Conservatives need a minority target to keep their followers focused/unified on hate. As the followers obsess on hate, their lives/emotions are much easier to manipulate.

Conservatives always vow to restore the country to some distant past that never existed.

People are actually saying this person is horrible, when she brings up a really good point that no one seems to want to talk about. In fact, I know that a lot of leftist folk don't want to talk about it because I saw a post going around earlier that said "a blog is suspicious (i. e. you don't want to follow it) if they talk about detransitioners or ARE detransitioners." You all don't want to hear their stories (which is a growing number) and that's disgusting. You don't want to hear about how they've been hurt by predators that want to chop up their bodies. You don't want to hear about how much they regret going through mutilation and realized too late that they were just a tomboy or that it's OKAY to be a girl and like "guy stuff" or the reverse.

But this thing, being trans, IS a social contagion. I was listening to a podcast where Robert Kennedy Jr. was speaking about a topic that isn't related, but he made a point which I think applies (this is loosely paraphrased fyi but I'll link the podcast): "You didn't see kids my age have things like autism or other similar issues. I didn't know anybody who had autism, OCD, bipolar disorder -- and it's ridiculous to say that 'we just didn't know' when we don't hear of people my age with those conditions. The numbers don't show it either. If you're my age and you're listening then you know you didn't know anyone like that either."

People and society have changed. People are more depressed, apparently have more mental disorders, and seem to just be more uncomfortable than ever. If I was ever sent to public school I can totally see someone convincing me that I have ADHD or was "born in the wrong body" and my parents were oppressing me (I HATED my body even when I was a little girl and wished I was a boy. I was also extremely contrary to what my parents wanted. I have since grown far past that phase but that's what it was - a phase that took years for me to grow out of).

And, I mean, kids are thinking they're trans in HIGHSCHOOL. When the world seems like the most terrible and horrible and hates you and you're going through puberty and social pressure. You're incredibly vulnerable and feel so lost and you most certainly think something is wrong with you. And instead of being taught to roll with the tides and learn to be comfortable with yourself as a person, you're told "you need to change. You don't feel good? Something is wrong with you. Change, take these pills, and you'll be fixed," when you don't need to be fixed in the first place.

Another thing? You don't see old people suddenly coming out as trans now that it's socially acceptable. And when you do, he's more than likely a disgusting predator who knows what he's doing and is taking advantage of this. This is why we've had to beat down people who are coming out as MAPS - because now societal tides are shifting in favour of sexual predators. Don't forget about children being taken to ADULT drag shows and being flashed by old guys in pride parades - these kids are undergoing child ABUSE.

I don't know how this evolved to be a problem but this societal change is causing more gender dysphoria than it is fixing it. I've seen many personal and horrible stories of people who undergo this and I want it to stop. I have sympathy for the pain these people have but mutilation isn't something anyone should ever be able to do. Even for adults (I refuse to take a "middle way" like so many wafery conservatives have). Mutilation will not fix their spiritual and mental problems. I don't know what will help these people, but maybe instead of saying "you need to change, you need to transition, you're not a girl you're a boy, or vice versa" we need to tell them that they don't need to change a thing. You can be a girl who fits in with boys and likes getting covered in mud. You can be a guy and really love pink and dolls and fashion. You can be honest to yourself while still being you. Just be you. Don't worry about what you "might be" or any reasons at all in which you might be a girl and not a boy. People start thinking they're trans when they realize they don't fit into stereotypes or they go outside the mold. Everyone does. Every single teenager feels like that at some point.
