Howdy!

Act III

Red and Ardois go down into the basement of the facility to kill Aodh, who they find out is the mutated operator of a subway train that used to transport workers from the surface to the facility and vice versa. Aodh was exiled from a cult on the surface who were a part of Richard’s backstory, had his throat cut, and was sent into the subway tunnels to die - in the facility, his throat wound mutated into a second mouth. The intermission would have revealed that he was one of the few people in the facility capable of dealing lasting harm to Momus, and the two had it out with each other quite frequently.

Aodh would have offered Red and Ardois another deal: help him kill Momus, and he’d take them to the surface on the subway. This would have culminated in a two-stage boss fight on a moving train, with W H O ultimately sacrificing himself in order to kill Momus for good and allow Red and Ardois to ride up to the surface. The act would end with the surface being revealed in a video update as a post-apocalyptic wasteland, sparsely populated by groups of survivors.

Act IV

Plans for this act were much looser before work on Be Calm was stopped. It would have centered around Red and Ardois meeting up with a group of surface survivors who were searching for survivors from the facility. The group partially consisted of Red’s old work partner/ex, Ardois’s sibling, and Richard’s older brother. W H O’s siblings W H Y and H O W would have appeared in this act, and one of Momus’s half-siblings would have been an antagonist seeking revenge for Momus’s death.

Growing up with your starters

Bulbasaur: Somehow, nomming on my clothes… has become a weird habit of theirs.

Venusaur: That hasn’t changed now that they’ve grown, but they’re very gentle.

Charmander: It’s my first attempt, but I made a plushie so that he wouldn’t get lonely.

Charizard: That plushie seems to be his favorite even now.

Squirtle: Squirtle’s a bit timid and hides behind me at the smallest things.

This tiktok about someone’s pre-transition self is so so SO tender and I just want anyone who has transitioned and may be mourning their old self to see this and to know it’s okay. It’s okay to miss that person you once were, it’s okay to wish you had embraced what you had and who you were before transitioning. It doesn’t mean you regret it, and it doesn’t mean you made the wrong decisions.

It’s okay to think about that person, it’s okay to mourn them, and it’s okay to wonder. The person you were before transitioning may have been a trick of the light, but it doesn’t mean they weren’t special while they were here.
