hiiii i usually refrain from making text posts here but i wanted to quickly mention: my OCs are not for public use! they’re not for your roleplays, theyre not for you to copy and paste, and theyre not for your OC inspiration mood-boards. I’ve been seeing a lot of people tag my (sometimes extremely personal) original art with the names of their own OCs, commenting about how “this is just how i picture X looking!” If you really have these sentiments, keep them to yourself, please! I guarantee 90% of artists dont want to be told that their OCs remind people of their own OCs or of existing fictional characters. It’s not a compliment, I promise you.

Allow us to clarify: several times in the past a few people tagged their inquisitor on some of our images with either just their name or something like “this is totally [inquisitor’s name]!” or start describing a scenario that their inquisitor would do.
Now all of that may seem pretty harmless, but to us it essentially just boils the role of our own inquisitors in these pictures down to a template. We realize that this is how that game presents the inquisitor, but that’s exactly why we work so hard to create images and scenarios that are very personal to our own brand and take on DA:I. But when people just tag over it with their own characters, it feels like all that’s being erased just for the sake of getting ‘free art/ free face-claim’.
Were not trying to say that no one’s allowed to have inquisitors with personalities and relationships like ours, because that’s petty and also impossible to prevent. We just don’t appreciate having to read that in the tags. We drew our own characters, for ourselves; if they happen to look or act or anything like your characters, please, keep it to yourself.

Today someone messaged me about this piece by Eldrtchmn and asked If i could send them the file so they could use it as their OC
Hey man I loved the art you commissioned and I have a question do you have a full body version of the character without the skeleton mask like in the gif? I was hoping to use that version for my next oracle playthrough.
By saying that they know I commissioned this piece, that means they know I paid money for it. I saved up, I came up with an idea, I gathered references, I waited my turn on the waitlist, and I worked back and forth with this artist to develop MY character. Not yours.
By specifying that this is for their next oracle playthrough, they indicate that they’re basing their concept of their character on my oracle. Basically making their version of my character and trying to RP her.
Halide was my first ever PF character, her history is intensely personal and related to multiple campaigns I’ve played with her. The idea of someone thinking they could play her or “do her better” or do her in their own way, while wearing her face that, again, I paid for, is repulsive.
Never, ever, do this.
Don’t tag your own OCs in reblogs of an artist’s OCs. I see this on my dash all the time, artists feeling looked-over, forgotten, unimportant, because someone thinks their very personal and dear ORIGINAL CHARACTER might look like someone from critical role if you squint.

The sharp tang of iron coats your tongue, and the thready beat of your pulse thrums along your neck.
With great effort you open your eyes, flinching from the blinding sun that filters through the canopy of leaves above. You roll to your side, and a flare of pain races along your spine. Your vision blurs. You blindly reach your hand out to brace against the tall object in front of you. Rough, textured, like bark. A tree? The shifting shadows and dappled sunlight flickering through the leaves makes your head spin. Nausea twists through your gut.
After a moment of labored breathing, your vision clears. Your eyes land on a scrap of parchment abandoned in the roots of the tree, crumpled and damp as though it was recently clenched in a sweaty grip. There is writing. The scrawled lines are blurred but still legible.
Come to the ruins. You will find what you seek there.
"What I seek?" you croak.
A flicker of recognition. The handwriting is familiar, yet your mind is a haze of emptiness and confusion. Where are you? And... who are you?
You stand, brushing leaves and sticks from your cloak. The fabric is worn at the seams, and the tattered ends sway in the breeze. A gust of wind slams into you, nearly toppling you to the ground. You twist, eyes squinting against the sun - one hand raised to shadow your face while the other braces your weight against the tree.
You stand near the edge of a cliff. Before you lies a valley so thickly forested that you cannot see the ground beneath the tree canopy. Across the valley your eyes catch on something, something nestled into the base of mountains and crawling up to the highest peak. Spindly structures - buildings - ebb and flow like vines along the face of the mountains. The jagged bones of decrepit towers pierce the sky along the crest of the mountains. Crumbling buildings on islands of stone halo the highest peak.
"The ruins," you murmur.
Your grip tightens around the note. The folds of the parchment fit neatly into the creases of your palm.
You are faced with a choice. Do you:
⟡ Descend into the valley
⟡ Discard the parchment note and abandon your journey

Hi! It's me, MIN :) for @evanurisweek I decided to make art centered around a fake Evanuris themed Indie game called "Ashes of Arlathan". While I don't have the game planned out for you, I did make art for objects you might find along your journey as the idea is the game is a dungeon crawler through the ruins of Arlathan, and I'm your guide / codex! Each day is themed around an object related to one of the Evanuris you might find among the ruins on your journey. Will the object aide you or cause you further harm?
Only one way to find out :)
Heavily inspired by my general love of game design, particularly of random objects with notes or a codex attached. Also heavily inspired by Vermis by @/plastiboo. I have been thinking about starting vis dev / game dev for an original concept for a really long time, and I'm using this as an opportunity to dip my toes in :D

like the betrayal’s always going to be worse if they cared about you and it didn’t matter. someone discards you because they didn’t give a shit, then you can be angry about that, you can feel vindicated in that, you can get over it. but if they can look you in the eyes and say “I love you. I would make the same choice again.” You will never sleep peacefully again, is all.
“I thought they cared about me, but they were lying this whole time.” <- tired. boring. removes all the nuance of this relationship to make it easier to move on from.
“I thought they cared about me, and I was right, and every minute they were there for me, every time they said they were proud, every laugh we shared leaning against each other bruised and breathless, all of it was real. and they still left me behind. They could put their love aside. I couldn’t.” <- insane. will never leave you alone. reminds you that even the worst people are still people and can still care about even the ones they hurt the most and that undoes neither the harm nor the love.
