I got accepted into writing for the @dragonageannual digital zine and can share a little part of my WIP. The theme is Locations and I'm writing about the Deep Roads in DA2. I'm also pumped because @ruxandralache is creating art for it!

Absence. Emptiness. A lack of life, of sound, and certainly of hope. The Deep Roads had become a great chasm of decay and despair, a place crowded with ghosts where no living voice remained to speak for them. What sound remained was cruel. Far off, darkspawn shrieked in the black. Somewhere deeper still, a Warden screamed as the taint overcame them, the sound cut short by the wet snarl of a hurlock. But once in awhile, a gentler sound, the curious squeaking of a nug.
