Beginning March 1, 2026, multiple accounts on Mod the Sims have been compromised. This includes both gameplay mods and CC.

Do NOT download updated or new ts4script files from Mod the Sims. Look at the "Information" tab to find out if there's a script file.

And remember: Safe Simming means remembering that your decor and clothes mods don't have script files!

Both versions of Studio are updated for the latest patch.

hi! i convert it to a mesh then adjust some edge loops by moving and scaling them to give it more texture. then i scale down the last edge loop to close it, add another loop or two with ctrl + r, adjust scale a bit to give it a rounded tip.

Here’s a super quick tutorial on how to check the poly count on your shiny new custom content, be it CAS or BUY mode content.

You will need the Sims 4 Studio program, found here.

Open Sims 4 Studio and select the My Projects button.

Navigate to wherever the content you want to check is located and select a package file. What I like to do is sort everything by size and I will usually select a file that has a large size*. In this example pic, one file was pretty large so that’s the one I decided to open.

Once S4S opens up the package file, navigate to the Meshes Tab. In this tab, you’ll be able to see the vertices and polygon count of your object. As you can see, the object I selected ( it was a BUY mode object)  is dangerously high poly!  I have a pretty powerful computer, but I’d still be leery of using an object with a count this high. The creator I obtained this object from did not state this was a high poly object, so keep that in mind whenever you download any content- if the creator hasn’t advised of the count, be sure to check it yourself using this method.

So now that I know the count, I can decide to delete this object entirely from my game or use it sparingly, for like a picture edit or something. It definitely cannot be used for game-play or to decorate my Sims’ home.

if you are a creator and don’t know how to lower poly to create proper LODs , check the links below.

1. decimate modifier (the one you should know. if not, get familiar with it)

2. checker deselect (collapsing and removing edge loops)

3. limited dissolve! (messier and can make a uv map ugly so use sparingly)

4. remove doubles (you should already be doing this if you create hair and clothing but it can be used for objects)

creators aren’t responsible for how someone else plays their game but if that creator is charging for cc (on patreon), they do have some obligation to warn or at least ATTEMPT to make cc that’s game ready. you do a huge disservice to your patrons (ie the ppl PAYING YOU TO MAKE CC) by releasing potentially computer-bricking cc.
