Ramone headcanons because i felt like it
- He does not have a favourite paint job, his favourite paint job is always the latest one he did
- Ramone is good at reading people because he can see someones personal choices and preferences back in the artstyle of their paint jobs very well. Thats also why he really hates it when cars get bullied for their paint jobs.
- Everyone thinks Ramone gets inspiration from things, but hes very imaginative, creative and has great conceptualization when it comes to his art. He will take a painting as an inspo and come up with literally everything else himself.
- as soon as he has a good art idea he draws or paints it because hes scared hes gonna forget it later
- He would get along with Finn very well PROVE ME WRONG
- Lightning has become his canvas over the years and Lightning does not mind at all because everything Ramone does looks cool to him
- Everyone thinks hes just a street artist but Lightning has alot of connections in the racing industry and got Ramone a few jobs for a bunch of sponsors and companies. Ramone has designed logos and racing paint layers, and he LOVES IT
- He did start as a street artist. He began at 15, classic vandalism, graffiti paintings on walls except he actually tried and made pretty paintings on random walls in his hometown
- He has a favourite song in almost every genre
- He is NOT QUIET about art he is a YAPPER when it comes to art
- He really really really really really likes Pinterest Ramone is the biggest Pinterest girlie in all of Radiator Springs, he has boards for EVERY SINGLE paint art style known to carkind. He doesnt save it for inspo, because as i said he doesnt really need it, he just likes seeing people do what they love and make cool things.
- Ramone loves seeing people thrive in their favourite lines of work. He has done a lot of things he didnt want to do, and when he was able to make art his job he became happier. He knows when someone does something they truly love, they feel the same as him, knowing they can make a living out of their number one passion. Ramone loves seeing Lightning race, because he knows how much Lightning loves racing and is able to do it for a job. Seeing Lightning thrive on the racetrack and go home with a smile makes Ramone happy. He gets happy from the happiness of others because he knows how important it is to do something you love <3
thats frank š¤·
We all know the residents of Radiator Springs and that they are genuinely good people, but from an complete outsider's perspective? They seem like the absolut worst?
Like, imagine Lightning had like one (1) friend who cared about him, but for some reason couldn't stay with him. And Lightning calls them right after his race and tells them all about about these wonderful people and that he thinks that he might finally have found a family to stay with.
And this friend is just soo happy for him because they know Lightning was lonely and that he desperatly wished for company, but then Lightning is like "He yeah, but you know, what they did at the beginning could hardly had been legal"
And the friend is like "???"
And then Lightning tells them about being held against his will, being convicted without a real judge ("oh yeah, their vet kinda did everything") and with someone, who hadn't ever even looked at a law book in his whole life, but wanted to be payed by him for literally doing nothing, as his lawyer, to having to do manual labour.
Not even beginning with Lightning telling them repeatedly that his carear is in danger by his stay, them not even letting him contact anyone and Lightning probably being able to just pay for the repairing of the road, without having to do it alone, on his own, in the heat.
Like, Lightning could sue them to oblivion and completly ruin their reputation. Radiator Springs would be history if Lightning wanted them to.
On the other hand, they get back their reputation by Lightning staying with them.
Adding to that, Lightning is soo desperate for affection at this point, making him easier to manipulate and and in the town also lives his childhood hero, who not only approved of everything that happend, but was a mayor factor in it happening.
Lightning's friend would probably be more than a little worried for him and more then a little suspicious of the residents Radiator Springs.
Yeah sounds like Stockholm Syndrome

lightning, sally, & mater: *screaming*
sheriff, running into the room: What's wrong, Sally?!
lightning: Wait, why are you asking Sally that when Mater and I are also here?
sheriff: Because Sally wouldn't scream unless it's an emergency. You two scream whenever you have the chance.
mater: That shirt looks great.
lightning: Thanks.
mater: But I bet it would look even better on Miss Sallyās floor.
sally: Are you hitting on my boyfriend⦠for me?
Please make a post about the story of the RMS Carpathia, because it's something that's almost beyond belief and more people should know about it.
Carpathia received Titanicās distress signal at 12:20am, April 15th, 1912. She was 58 miles away, a distance that absolutely could not be covered in less than four hours.
(Californianās exact position at the time isā¦controversial. She was close enough to have helped. By all accounts she was close enough to see Titanicās distress rockets. Itās uncertain to this day why her crew did not respond, or how many might not have been lost if she had been there. This is not the place for what-ifs. This is about what was done.)
Carpathiaās Captain Rostron had, yes, rolled out of bed instantly when woken by his radio operator, ordered his ship to Titanicās aid and confirmed the signal before he was fully dressed. The man had never in his life responded to an emergency call. His goal tonight was to make sure nobody who heard that fact would ever believe it.
All of Carpathiaās lifeboats were swung out ready for deployment. Oil was set up to be poured off the side of the ship in case the sea turned choppy; oil would coat and calm the water near Carpathia if that happened, making it safer for lifeboats to draw up alongside her. He ordered lights to be rigged along the side of the ship so survivors could see it better, and had nets and ladders rigged along her sides ready to be dropped when they arrived, in order to let as many survivors as possible climb aboard at once.
I donāt know if his making provisions for there still being survivors in the water was optimism or not. I think he knew they were never going to get there in time for that. I think he did it anyway because, god, you have to hope.
Carpathia had threeĀ dining rooms, which were immediately converted into triage and first aid stations. Each had a doctor assigned to it. Hot soup, coffee, and tea were prepared in bulk in each dining room, and blankets and warm clothes were collected to be ready to hand out. By this time, many of the passengers were awakeāprepping a ship for disaster relief isnāt quietāand all of them stepped up to help, many donating their own clothes and blankets.
And then he did something I tend to refer to as diverting all power from life support.
Hereās the thing about steamships: They run on steam. Shocking, I know; but that steam powers everything on the ship, and right now, Carpathia needed power. So Rostron turned off hot water and central heating, which bled valuable steam power, to everywhere but the dining roomsāwhich, of course, were being used to make hot drinks and receive survivors. He woke up all the engineers, all the stokers and firemen, diverted all that steam back into the engines, and asked his ship to go as fast as she possibly could. And when sheād done that, he asked her to go faster.
I need you to understand that you simply canāt push a ship very far past its top speed. Pushing that much sheer tonnage through the water becomes harder with each extra knot past the speed it was designed for. Pushing a ship past its rated speed is not only recklessāitās difficult to maneuverābut it puts an incredible amount of strain on the engines. Ships are not designed to exceed their top speed by even one knot. They canāt do it. It canāt be done.
Carpathiaās absolute do-or-die, the-engines-canāt-take-this-forever top speed was fourteen knots. Dodging icebergs, in the dark and the cold, surrounded by mist, she sustained a speed of almost seventeen and a half.
No one would have asked this of them. It wasnāt expected. They were almost sixty miles away, with icebergs in their path. They had a responsibility to respond; they did not have a responsibility to do the impossible and do it well. No one would have faulted them for taking more time to confirm the severity of the issue. No one would have blamed them for a slow and cautious approach. No one but themselves.
They damn near broke the laws of physics, galloping north headlong into the dark in the desperate hope that if they could shave an hour, half an hour, five minutes off their arrival time, maybe for one more person those five minutes would make the difference. I say: three people had died by the time they were lifted from the lifeboats. For all we know, in another hour it might have been more. I say they made all the difference in the world.
This ship and her crew received a message from a location they could not hope to reach in under four hours. Just barely over three hours later, they arrived at Titanicās last known coordinates. Half an hour after that, at 4am, they would finally find the first of the lifeboats. it would take until 8:30 in the morning for the last survivor to be brought onboard. Passengers from Carpathia universally gave up their berths, staterooms, and clothing to the survivors, assisting the crew at every turn and sitting with the sobbing rescuees to offer whatever comfort they could.
In total, 705 people of Titanicās original 2208 were brought onto Carpathia alive. No other ship would find survivors.
At 12:20am April 15th, 1912, there was a miracle on the North Atlantic. And it happened because a group of humans, some of them strangers, many of them only passengers on a small and unimpressive steam liner, looked at each other and decided: I cannot live with myself if I do anything less.
I think the least we can do is remember them for it.
I canāt begin to describe how happy and flattered and a little teary I am that this just broke 100k.
I may be the actual only human being on Tumblr with a post this popular that I not only donāt regret making, but am actually HAPPY whenever I notice a surge in its circulation.Ā
I never intended this to gain any traction at all (youāll notice thereās no sources or anythingāthis was a personal ramble, prompted in good humor by a friend after I jokingly said that I wished someone would give me an excuse to cry about Carpathia on Tumblr so I could get it out of my system.) I literally expected to get, like, maybe 20 likes and a reblog, from friends, indulging me in my nonsense.
It justā¦.means a lot to me that itās touched so many people. I see a lot of tags to the effect ofĀ āHOW DARE YOU HURT ME LIKE THIS AND MAKE ME CRY ABOUT A BOATā that are often really funny, but overwhelmingly the tags on this post are from people saving it for a rainy day, or remarking in a sort of quiet awe that they never even really thought about her role in the storyāand God knows I never did, I learned it by complete accident much as most of the people whoāve found this post.Ā
And so many of you guys are taking strength and reassurance from the reminder not only that people are capable of amazing things together, but simply that kindness matters and that a simple, tiny act of compassion is never wasted. Iām just really glad to have been able to do that for some folks.
If I can just add one personal note. I need to emphasize something I only touched on in the original post.
I need to emphasize that Carpathia failed.
A lot of the tags and comments have a tinge ofā¦despair, or guilt, or wistfulness about things like this happening so rarely. Or inadequacy, or just being overwhelmed or unhappy about not being in a position to step up in a comparable way. And I want to gently bring up the fact that this is still the sinking of the Titanic.Ā
They did not get there in time. They did not save the ship. It can be argued that they may not even have saved a single life; we have no way of knowing. This was still a horrific maritime disaster mired in arrogance and incompetence and a lack of care.
If the response to this story shows anything, it shows this:Ā It matters that they tried.Ā
Even though they got there too late, even though the ship still sank. It matters that they tried. The difference between making the best reasonable speed after confirming the seriousness of the situation, and the miracle they pulled offāit matters. It makes all the difference. Even if it made no difference at all. Not one of you read this and concluded that I was stupid for caring so much when the Titanic still sank and all those people still died.
You donāt have to fix the world. Youāll likely be cold and sick and miserable and testy and scared, and unprepared, and in over your head, and entirely too small to be of any real use. It feels stupid, passing out blankets and coffee in the middle of an ice field knowing what just happened. Itās hard to feel anything but useless when all you can do is tap a wireless transmitter and promise help that you know will come too late.
It matters that they fought for those people. It matters that they cared, and it matters that they tried. It matters that they didnāt stop. If it didnāt matter, you wouldnāt have read this far.
Look, here's the sad truth about trying to recommend different books to "replace" Harry Potter- You can't.
Don't get me wrong- everyone should read new books. There's so many incredible pieces of fiction in the world, and I'll recommend my favorites day and night.
But Percy Jackson and Discworld and Earthsea and Broken Earth and Singing Hills and Murderbot and Teixcalaan and Wayfarers simply will not make you feel the way Harry Potter made you feel when you were 13.
Because you aren't 13 any more.
You will not find the Fandom community that wraps around you and helps mold you into the person you will become like Harry Potter did when you were 13.
Because you aren't 13 any more, and you never will be again.
And it sucks that Harry Potter is irreparably tainted. It sucks that all the things Harry Potter meant to you has been taken from you, and you cannot get them back. It sucks. Be angry about it. Be sad. Be disappointed and betrayed.
And, honestly if you really go back to HP, you'll find it isn't actually all that good. Youll find that it carries a lot of assumed bias and mean spirited callousness and British classism. Plot holes and lazy status quo reinforcement and haphazard world building.
Not even Harry Potter NOW can be to you what Harry Potter was to you THEN.
And if you spend the rest of your life reading new books because you want to find the book that will be what Harry Potter was to you when you were 13, you will spend your life being disappointed.
So.
Read new books. Read new books to find new experiences, new thoughts, new feelings. You won't find a replacement. You won't find a book to be what Harry Potter used to be to you.
But you could find Discworld, and Murderbot, and Singing Hills, and Wayfarers , and Broken Earth, and Teixcalaan, and Earthsea *right now.*
And honestly, it's worth it.
Yesterday, Disney asked users on Threads to use Disney quotes to show how they are currently feeling. To say that this did not go according to Disney's plan would be an understatement š
They deleted the thread, but they should know that this doesn't help because now the videos are making their rounds š¤£š

reminder of Lightning's feelings on the "Monty" name:
"original name"
"Lightning suits you much better" "I always thought so."
"this story is only for you guys" "yer secret is safe with me"
"new name"
"Can I call you Monty?" "That's not my name anymore."
(Struck By Lightning. Dave Keane, 2017)
"I am Lightning!"
(Cars 00:01:15. Pixar, 2006)
Monty is Lightningās dead name!
i love you mater i love you for being the kindest vehicle in all of the world
i love you for showing mcqueen kindness when the other radiator springs residents already wrote him off as a criminal
i love you for still choosing to help bubba when he got trapped in a ditch even after he's show you nothing but disdain
i love you for seeing the humanity (they're not humans but y'know what i mean) in the lemons despite all the bullshit they did because you know firsthand how horrible ostracization feels
i love you for being so compassionate that half of the mater's tall tales stories start with you helping someone
I LOVE YOU MATER!!!!
do you ever find a really good drawing reference but you dont have a ship that fits it, so you invent a stupidly random crackship just so you can use the reference?
yea. axlefinn. finn was ordered to "take out axlerod" and he interpreted that in the date way
also axlerod is wearing finn's jacket if it wasnt clear
hey you. indie creator. get rid of the corporate execs and the imaginary writers room in your brain. the cynical youtube reviewers and disney fans who want sanitized uwu gays probably are never even gonna be even slightly aware of your existence. write those unrelatable blorbos and those messy themes and that weirdly sexy violence. you have no one to answer to but yourself. give yourself what you want and maybe some day, some 3 random lesbians from the internet whose interests you have somehow exactly hit will look at your thing and think its pretty cool, and in the end thats all you ever needed
I NEVER NOTICED THIS POST TOOK OFF everyone who said they rly needed to hear this, we r in this together babe we will get it, eye of the tiger lets go
"if we get another (this weeks problematic media) because of this fucking post im gonna kill you" you saw a post like this thats meant to encourage people to work on their art and that was your first thought? sounds like someone hasnt killed the cynical youtube critic in their brain <3 also im blocking you
To the person who leaves these comments anonymously on almost all NSFW Pixar Cars fics on Ao3:Ā
Donāt let this happen again. The purpose of Ao3 is to be a non exclusionary, safe place for users to post their fan works. Itās not specifically catered to you, and you are already aware of that. Iāve told you that numerous times when you comment on my fics. I know your hatred comes from jealousy that your own fics donāt receive the same attention, so you wish to drag down other creators.
if anyoneās wondering who it is: think of the meanest, most cruel Cars Fandom participant you know of. We all know her. Sheās always complaining. Sheās always got something disgusting to say, even to those who are only trying to be supportive about her work. Yeah,Ā them.Ā
not pictured: the half dozen other comments Iāve deleted from her on my fics that I donāt have screenshots of.
additional note: I actually did make an account to post under a pseud specifically so she could mute me and she still leaves these comments on every fic I post. Pics 3 and 4 are screenshots from other users sheās antagonizing.Ā
I typically donāt participate in the fandom other than posting art and fic and I hate to sound dramatic but- this has to stop.
Itās one thing to bash smut if it involves underage individuals, but the characters are all adults.
The author is aware of the kink and the actions of these toxic relationships. They put in the appropriate warnings. Because of the warnings, the characters being adults, and awareness on the authorās part, the criticism should really only involve the story or how the story or kink is executed?
Iād be more objectionable if it was made for profit, but since itās free fanfic based on the authorās idea and written on their own time I feel more incline to defend.

Not only should it be law that anything AI generated on the internet should be labelled as such but every website, app, and digital service should have a button I can click that removes any AI from my interactions with that site/service. I don't want your AI assistant I don't want your AI-generated ad copy I don't want this insidious little thing that has crept into so much of the internet that I can be using it without even realising or knowing. If you couldn't be bothered to have a human make it I can't be bothered to look at it sorry bye
I love that there are almost no proshippers in the cars fandom (Or at least I never saw one, I don't know I'm not that active) because what are they gonna ship? there are no minors or anything.
.
Cars is one of the few kids franchises where none of the main characters are kids. They are all adults that can legally drink, vote, live on their own, and have jobs that often require a college degree. While itās kid friendly, these characters are adults with adult interests and lives.
(Mia and Tia I assume are in their twenties in the first film like Lightning, simply because they travel to see his races and move to Radiator Springs to work at Floās cafe. Thatās not something two teenagers can do, but devoted early-20s fans in the mid-2000s could do.)
Honestly, the only reason their would be a proshipper in the Cars fandom is if the person actively aged down the characters into minors or wrote OCs who are minors and knowingly shipping them with the adult age character. I had an encounter with that kind of person. They were decent at first until they actually wrote smut of their teenage OCs⦠and then wrote smut involving the child OCs committing incest.
So yeah. I thought they were writing a dark story a la Flowers in the Attic, I didnāt think they were focusing primarily on the smut aspect.
