The Three Alien Princesses (Kory, Donna, Raven)
I know the Teen Titans show and other DC movies or comics put good focus on the fact that Kory is an alien adjusting to life on Earth and show her having moments of misunderstanding or expressing her native culture over Earth customs. But I haven’t seen much material addressing the fact that Raven and Donna also grew up in alternate realms (Azarath and Amazon) and therefore are also somewhat unfamiliar with various Earth cultures and norms. (Could be my fault, I’m still a new fan so tell me where)
I know Raven reads lots of books and was taught a lot about the history and chaotic ways of Earth people. But since the Azarathians wanted to be isolated from their origin planet, I wonder how much they kept up with the passing history and technological inventions of Earth. But either way, it’s fun to imagine Raven would know a lot but still be confused and naive about certain things along with Starfire. Except that she’s more shy about asking questions and often waits on Kory or somebody to do it, or attempts to use telepathy to get better interpretation, which can still lead to funny misunderstandings. Kory came from a more technologically advanced world and was socialized growing up so she might actually be quicker to understand things that are similar to her childhood experiences.
I don’t know much about Donna but she gives me big sister vibes. As the first girl Titan on the original team, I can see her taking the others under her wing and helping them navigate casual settings without Robin. She’ll take pride in knowing a lot more about Earth thanks to bi-local upbringing with Wonder Woman.
Yet I can’t help but imagine potential comedy scenarios where Donna takes the girls out somewhere but due to her subtle lack of knowledge, ends up backfiring on teaching them the accurate things. Like with Scuttle and Ariel! You got three silly alien girls who come from different cultures and therefore may interpret or approach the same concept three different ways lol. Imagine them making regularly going shopping and marveling at all the infinite choices capitalism has to offer. They buy some weird toy and use it in the worst, messiest way possible, to Dick’s dismay! Also he gets overprotective of the girls’ adventurous excitement, worrying about them running into disrespectful citizens or not needing him anymore.
