Even with their tricky history, talking about his father was a very hard thing to do, especially around this time of year. And even more so to someone he’d known for three days. But there was something about Annabeth that was just so easy, so comforting. He didn’t mind her knowing all of these dark, unhappy things about him. If anything, he wanted her to know.

“What do you wanna know?” she asked, shifting in her seat. Percy could hear her smile in her voice, but he refrained from glancing at her again.
