Neris Week 2026 - Rules & Guidelines 

Welcome to Neris Week 2026! This event is dedicated to celebrating Nesta Archeron and Eris Vanserra, their relationship, and the creativity of our community! 

Content & Participation 

There are no restrictions on the type of content you create: fanfiction, fan art, edits, playlists, moodboards, drabbles, meta, headcanons, SFW, NSFW, and more are welcome. However, we will not promote, reblog, or otherwise acknowledge AI-generated content.

As AI tools continue to evolve, it is not always possible to identify generated content with certainty. We will approach submissions in good faith and assume they are creator-made unless there is compelling evidence to suggest otherwise. If you have concerns regarding a submission we have shared, please reach out privately to one of the Neris Week moderators so we can review it.

Feel free to interpret the prompts as loosely or as literally as you would like. Creativity is encouraged!

Respect & Community 

Neris Week is a celebration. We ask everyone to remain respectful toward fellow participants and the wider fandom.

We will not promote or reblog content that celebrates Neris by attacking other characters, ships, creators, or members of the fandom. Anti-content is not permitted as part of the event.

Happy Saturday evening, Neris Nation! (Or Sunday morning/afternoon, depending on your timezone!) We've been a little quiet this week here in Neris Nation HQ with real life stuff, but we are BACK with a vengeance tonight with a humdinger of a fic rec for you: the hurt, the dark, the light, the flame by the fabulous wordsmith, @thenwhokilledtheworld!

Fic summary:

“It’s the witch,” Beron said softly. Eris’ first thought was Briallyn. What had his father allowed to happen that could be worse than what he'd already done? “The Archeron witch.” Eris didn’t breathe.

“There’s an eighth Court in Prythian.”

One night on the hike in the mountains, Nesta disappears from the Night Court.

First off, y'all, that title. Inspired by Hozier's As It Was, it sets the stage for a gorgeously crafted piece of writing chock full of some of the best worldbuilding and characterization that we've ever seen in fanfic. And while yes, this is a Nesta/Eris fic, so, SO many characters get the spotlight: canon and original. We've got Valkyries. We've got Vansiblings. We've got the Inner Circle (though small head's up, it's a pretty IC-critical fic). We've got hags and a bigass tree and Beron and everyone shines.

As always, because we're incurably nosy, we reached out to @thenwhokilledtheworld for the backstory and inspiration of this fic:

"I wanted Nesta to have a home that was hers, and i really wanted her to have relationships with older women who cared about her. It started there. And then I wanted her to fall in love without the romance being shorthand for healing. I wanted a truly epic climax to their arcs: family betrayal, knives made of magic thorns, mind control, ballroom dancing, fighting your evil fire-wolf dad hand to hand, all the bells and whistles. Also got physically possessed by the idea of Neris being really horny about calling each other husband and wife. It’s a found family fic at its heart, I think."

Look at that. Doesn't it sound epic? Hell, we think we'll go re-read it right now. In fact, you too should cancel your Saturday night plans, make yourself a seasonally-appropriate beverage of choice, and lock in for the best thing you've read since our last recommendation.

SJM was going to pair Azriel with Mor, but she abandoned the idea because people were complaining about a lack of representation in the books. So, Mor is LGBTQ+ and will likely end up with Emerie.

She created Gwyn for ACOSF but altered the plot so that Azriel has known her since ACOMAF; Azriel feels the "Spark", which SJM has stated is essential for her couples, and even hears a "silent song" that his shadows respond to when he moves away from her, another element she uses for her "endgame" couples, introduced in the very first book Gwyn appeared in.

Finally, SJM had already stated that Elucien would have a journey of tension, healing, and growth together; that the couple surprised her; that they are happiest in nature; and she has even described what a modern date between them would look like.

The other side tries to claim that Elucien is a mistake of nature, whereas SJM merely stated that Elain wonders IF is a mistake of nature; furthermore, they cite Rhysand’s parents as an example, a comparison that has absolutely nothing to do with Lucien and Elain, given that he is the mate who has most respected his partner's personal space.

Especially because, for a story to feature a plot combining tension, healing and growth, it HAS to include that tension, skipping that stage isn't an option. This is especially true after the "enemies-to-lovers" and "slow-burn" tropes leaked a while ago.

SJM has stated that her "endgame" couples MUST have that spark between them, something Elriel never had this or 💖🎶💖 across five books. Elucien met at the very end of Acomaf, and Elain showed that spark the moment she saw Lucien again at the start of Acowar. Gwynriel had that spark in the very first book she appeared in; SJM handed it to us on a silver platter before we even had time to ask for that pairing.

So that’s it. Emorie (probably), Elucien, and Gwynriel. Three couples, since SJM really seems to like the number three, right? And in the end Az wasn't even that wrong about "3 brothers for 3 sisters."
