The UC system wants to reinstate the SAT/ACT requirement for admission due to "worsening math skills." That just breaks my heart.

#i hope they at least waive the requirement for transfer students #SAT/ACT courses are not cheap and i question whether marathon-like tests where students are assessed on writing AND math AND reading all at #once are truly accurate measures of scholastic aptitude.#idk what do you guys think

Got a 99% on my advanced theory of linear algebra final 😎

#highest score in the class babie!!#the way they do exams is absurd though. i have an accommodation for extra time for my disability– which means each final is 6. Hours. Long.#i had to fight over a year to be able to be granted a meal break halfway through.#idk. im someone who really enjoys math. im good at it too. but 6 hours nonstop no breaks is grueling.#would an able-bodied person be able to handle 6 hours of math nonstop? 4 hours? 3 hours?#then why do they expect disabled students to tolerate that?#anyway. never stop fighting. a 45 minute break so i can eat and rest made a world of a difference.

[…] the conversation that many have assumed was transpiring between the barmaid and gentleman is revealed to be an optical trick—the man stands outside the painter’s field of vision, to the left, and looks away from the barmaid, rather than standing right in front of her. The barmaid’s frontality is also deceptive. Rather than standing parallel to the bar and looking straight ahead, she stands slightly askance, facing the offset viewpoint.

Most ironically, the reflected edge of the bar, which in an offset view would tilt more acutely to the right, is revealed to be a visual decoy, leading us to believe that the vanishing point lies directly behind the barmaid. Thus, the paintings most obvious perspectival clue turns out to be its most subversive perspectival violation.

#yknow. sometimes i wonder why i even bother with studying math #im good at math i get good grades but i havent connected with anyone in my major at all #part of it has to do with the physical limitations that come with my whole health situation. i cant leave my apartment without help #but even in class... people are so mean to me. i havent made any connections with anyone #people are being offered scholarships and jobs and all sorts of opportunities. what am i doing wrong?
