The lengths it took for me to get these screenshots... (2/3)
You ever have a love-hate relationship with a game? ANYHOW, Cyberpunk is okay. Edgerunners really did sell this game for me (despite the game being not even remotely as good as Edgerunners). (1/3)
Literally any other colour wouldāve been a better choice guys.
Iād like to point out that the colour red has more positive than negative meanings.
im sorry but this reply absolutely killed me
red can mean whatever the heck you want it to mean, that is never going to change that this straight up looks like they DRAGGED A BLOODY BODY ACROSS THE FUCKING FLOOR š
Hi fun fact, colors do have meaning and there is a legit thing called color theory. Red does has more positive connotations than negative like the @mintymaiden said. Red is associated with more love, lust, passion than blood and death just like the chart shows you but If you want, hereās a link for you to check it out yourself. Also, check out āThe Designerās Dictionary of Colorā by Sean Adams. Have fun learning something

What isColor Theory? Color theory is a term used to describe the collection of rules and guidelines regarding the use of color in art and de
I think yāall are missing the point here.
You can theorize to Nebraska and back but that doesnāt change my immediate reaction which is that someone is literally dragging a corpse around
I like that the presumption here is that āNo One On Tumblr Has Heard of Color Theory, Let Me Explain in Depthā rather than simply acknowledging that the VISUAL EFFECTS of this particular color choice, applied in the manner it was, can still amount to āthis is a hospital and that looks like bloodā
like, color theory doesnāt exist in a vacuum. If your design of choice for Blood Red Paint is asymmetric splatters and sploches against the wall, or in this case, a snail trail on the hallwayās floor, an infographic wonāt override the viewersā instinct.
OP: this paint job looks like a blood stain
Tumblr: actually, according to color theory, it looks like love.
To please both sides yellow would have been much happier and uplifting, it also wouldnāt look like a corpus was dragged all over
i am begging you to please consider why yellow would actually be just as bad

Hey, quick question, how loud do the dog whistles have to get before everyone finally calls him what he is??
Also this:
The latest in series of alleged dog whistles and outright white nationalist messages from Trumpworld comes in the form of an $88 baseball.
A very important time to also remind everyone what America First means historically as well with the political cartoon from Dr. Seuss. They're a known fascist party with direct link to and in full support of Nazism in American History. This is a calculated move
Thank you for this reminder!
I also wanted to chime in again on this post bc thereās quite a bit of āheās just not that smartā or āthatās a reachā about the 1st tweet in the notes. I have a couple of replies:
Firstly, Trumpās Twitter acct is notoriously NOT run exclusively by him so itās entirely possible he was unaware of the character counts, etc. But thatās hardly the point here...if his closest advisors and idk what to call them...handlers? are fucking Nazis then our president is a fucking Nazi š¤·āāļø
Secondly, whether or not he knows origins and meanings of 14/88 shit (Iād guess he DOES but I digress) his spoken rhetoric is pretty consistently overtly white supremacist in nature.
Dan Scavino may be the tweet writer. He's shared anti-Semitic/neo-nazi content from Trump's account in the past. He also rts infowars and various conspiracy theories.
Dan Scavino has shared articles from websites that claim 9/11 was an 'inside job', Michelle Obama is a man and Beyonce is funded by the CIA
also, its incredibly important to be super wary of dogwhistles. dont dismiss them, even if you think that theyāre just a coincidence. thats how neo-nazis slip under the radar, thats how accumulate power and recruit/unify other neo-nazis. thats the point of dogwhistles- to be innocuous enough that they can be passed off as ājust a coincidence.ā take this kind of this really seriously.
y'all...
y'all...
he fucking knows, okay?

i really hope that no protesters/rioters know that grabbing the bottom of a police officers riot shield and flipping it up will push the officer on his back, rendering him immobile due to the weight of his riot gear :(( that would be an awful thing to know and terrible information to spread :((((
on another note, i really hope protesters/rioters donāt find out that you can buy plywood from home depot from 9-30$ and make your signs out of that, and use it to deflect and shield yourself from rubber bullets :((( noooo donāt do that :(((
I'm being 100000% serious here- the plywood thing is a bad idea and will not shield you or anyone around you.
IN FACT IT CAN HARM YOU AND THOSE AROUND YOU.
I know it's meant in good faith, but in actual practice this plywood shield is absolute bullshit.
Please spread this info.

Oh my god
The Stanford prison experiment tapes were so stupid when I watched them in AP psych and so stupid when I watch this film about them. Literally they couldāve all sat and played cards and got $15 a day to tell ghost stories all day and be best friends. But masculinity and whiteness and power created this violent irrationality that positioned young ass men to be met with brutality and trauma and disrespect even when it was obviously taken too far. and it makes no sense. If someone put me in a room with Black girls and said I would get paid $90 a day (thatās the equivalent apparently) to be a prison guard, do you know how fast Iād be sitting with them and learning about them and exchanging Instagrams and like.. sleeping.. like what the fuck was the point of any of thatā¦
My psych teacher introduced us to this study and literally before she showed us was like ādonāt ever confuse a study based on one type of person (white men/boys) to be an example of an Everyman situation. There is strong evidence that if this was recreated with diversity, or even just with girls, that the results would have been drastically different. This is an example of bias and sexism in the medical research community.ā
āOther, more subtle factors also shaped the experiment. Itās often said that the study participants were ordinary guysāand they were, indeed, determined to be ānormalā and healthy by a battery of tests. But they were also a self-selected group who responded to a newspaper advertisement seeking volunteers for āa psychological study of prison life.ā In a 2007 study, the psychologists Thomas Carnahan and Sam McFarland asked whether that wording itself may have stacked the odds. They recreated the original ad, and then ran a separate ad omitting the phrase āprison life.ā They found that the people who responded to the two ads scored differently on a set of psychological tests. Those who thought that they would be participating in a prison study had significantly higher levels of aggressiveness, authoritarianism, Machiavellianism, narcissism, and social dominance, and they scored lower on measures of empathy and altruism.ā http://www.newyorker.com/science/maria-konnikova/the-real-lesson-of-the-stanford-prison-experiment
The thing about this study is that whether or not itās generalizable to the public is debatable at best.
But itās certainly generalizable to the population of people who tend to be drawn to prison system and law enforcement jobs because thatās exactly the demographics that tend to show up in those positions.
For most of Americaās history, one of the most righteous anti-white supremacist tactics available was looting.
[People] want to correct the mediaās assertion that protesters were all looters for good reason: the idea of black people looting a store is one of the most racially charged images in the white imaginary. When protesters proclaim that ānot all protesters were looters, in fact, most of the looters werenāt part of the protest!ā or words to that effect, they are trying to fight a horrifically racist history of black people depicted in American culture as robbers and thieves: Precisely the image that the Ferguson police tried to evoke to assassinate Michael Brownās character and justify his killing post facto. It is a completely righteous and understandable position.
However, in trying to correct this media imageāin making a strong division between Good Protesters and Bad Rioters, or between ethical non-violence practitioners and supposedly violent lootersāthe narrative of the criminalization of black youth is reproduced. This time it delineates certain kinds of black youthāthose who loot versus those who protest. The effect of this discourse is hardening a permanent category of criminality on black subjects who produce a supposed crime within the context of a protest. It reproduces racist and white supremacist ideologies (including the tactic of divide-and-conquer), deeming some unworthy of our solidarity and protection, marking them, subtly, as legitimate targets of police violence.
[ā¦]
As Raven Rakia puts it, āIn America, property is racial. It always has been.ā Indeed, the idea of blackness was invented simultaneously with American conceptions of property: via slavery.

Oh man, all these people are playing Animal Crossing New Leaf and itās their first Animal Crossing game ever and theyāre totally missing out on some poignant story elements.
In each game you can talk to Sable every day and sheāll gradually open up to you and tell you more about her life.
When the Able Sisters were young their parents passed away. Mable was too young to understand the situation, and Labelle was older and frustrated and ran away to the big city leaving Sable to act as the sole parent to Mable. These events left Mable introverted and withdrawn. She works so hard because she had to take on the responsibility of raising Mable after their parents died and her big sister abandoned her.
In Animal Crossing City Folk, you can enter Gracieās shop to buy high-end clothing and one of her employees is Labelle, the lost Able sister. Through a series of conversations with various characters you can trick Labelle into dropping her phoney proper accent and speaking in a more relaxed ācountryā accent. She opens up and talks about her past and her family. In New Leaf, Labelle has moved home. In the back of her shop you can see a newspaper clipping and a ribbon that used to be part of her old uniform.
If you consider that newspaper clipping compared to the backstory from the previous games it paints a sad picture. Labelle moved to the city to get away from her family but she fell on hard times and her family took her back. People who havenāt played the previous games donāt realize what a big deal it is to see those three sisters finally reunited in the same store!
In Wild World, Sable would get sad sometimes around January. If you talk to her consistently sheāll tell you this story about Tom Nook:
āWell, the first letter I got from him arrived at just around this time of year⦠The other day, before bed, I pulled that letter out⦠and just looked at it. Tee hee! It was adorable! Sure, the handwriting was a little messy, but⦠You could hear his determination in every word of that letter⦠Sweet, young Tom Nook⦠His call to arms, his ethos, was āDreams before money!ā He was so pure that people wondered if heād survive this crazy old world. I did too. Every night before falling asleep, I would wish him⦠āPlease keep Tom Nookās pure spirit protected,ā Iād whisper in the darkness. āKeep him safe from the apathy that breeds in the alleys of the big cityā¦ā
I donāt know why Iāve told you so much about Tom Nook and I⦠All those memories of our shared youth must bore you. Please forgive me.
[Tell Me More!]
ā¦Ohh, OK, if you insist!
āThe Tom Nook that left for the big city⦠He sent me letters quite frequently, actually. One day, I received a wooden box, not a letter. When I opened it, I was quite astonished!
[A ring?!]
Oh goodness, no! Are you kidding?! [NAME], I think youāve been watching too many made-for-TV movies! ā¦Ohh, Iām so sorry. Heh, I didnāt mean to snap. That just took me off guard. No, inside the box, there was a pair of fancy, burnt-orange colored⦠scissors. Incredibly strong and sharp scissors! The finest scissors Iād ever laid eyes on. The enclosed letter said, āHappy birthday, Sable!ā Soā¦sweet⦠At the time, I was so busy that Iād even forgotten it was my birthday. To think Tom Nook had remembered it⦠Iām sure life was hard for Tom Nook in the city during that time⦠I know his job paid poorly, so for him to buy those scissors for me⦠When I think about it, it makes me so happy that I cry! Oh really, [NAME]⦠You want to hear my memories again? Iām warning you, not all my memories are fond ones you knowā¦
[Really?]
Well, we shared a lot of good times, Tom Nook and I. Before there was an observatory in dear old [TOWN NAME]⦠We used to climb up the roof when we wanted to look at the stars⦠Ohh, yes! We even made constellations together, I remember! I made one called the āStar Shirt.ā Tom Nookās looked like one of those old-time markets. He called it⦠āThe Farmerās Market Bargain Bin Constellation.ā Ohh that takes me back⦠[Nice story]
Yes, it is⦠Shortly after that, Tom Nook moved to the big city⦠Yes, he left to chase his dreams⦠When he returned to [TOWN NAME], he came back a totally different soul⦠I still believe that⦠if he had just clung to those sweet memories like I do⦠he would have shaken off the heartsickness of those city years⦠Memories can be sad, but they can also save youā¦ā
There seems to be a general theme in the Able Sisters storyline of the city representing running away. The implication is that the fast lifestyle of the city can make you sick with ennui and that taking it easy in a small town is the cure. The Animal Crossing series, as a whole, is about not running.
The literal act of ārunningā is the only thing that the game āpunishesā you for doing - youāll destroy flowers, scare away fish and bugs, and gradually tear away the grass. But the game still gives you the option to run, because itās about choosing to slow down and enjoy the journey. Itās not about beginnings or endings, itās about the calmness between those events. Itās sort of like the video game version of the Japanese concept of ma. Animal Crossing is a really beautiful thing and Iām so happy it exists.
I loved hearing Sable talk about this, so sad yet so sweet ^-^
Hidden depth, this series.

this is really true tho!!! my uncle was a cop in NY & FL and they taught him to shoot first if he had to. anytime a cop feels threatened (and they basically teach cops theyāre always threatened) they can shoot. its rlly sick psychological torture shit to help create a police state tbh
