autistic adult living alone working full time mood board
once you notice half of all memes are just a picture of a black person with unrelated text over them you really cannot unsee it
Video summary: Tiktok by @pippabarnes - clips of a person with alopecia applying colourful makeup and other decorations to a bald spot as part of very dramatic looks, narrating now her relationship to her bald spots has developed over time
On this day, 16 July 1862, Black feminist, anti-racist and anti-lynching activist Ida B. Wells was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi. After the lynching murders of three of her friends for the "crime" of setting up a grocery store which competed with a white-owned store she undertook a detailed investigation of lynchings and their causes. Wells' work countered the popular myth that most lynchings were to punish alleged rapists, and showed that instead most were for such "crimes" as failing to pay debts, competing with whites economically or drinking alcohol. She recommended that Black people arm themselves for "protection which the law refuses to give"; she herself bought a pistol after being threatened by white racists. Wells participated in the founding of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), but later distanced herself from the group after becoming dissatisfied with its leadership made up of the small group of either white or Black members of the elite. Instead she founded the Negro Fellowship League, and later the Alpha Suffrage Club in Chicago, which may have been the first Black women's suffrage organisation. Unrestrained summer fun 😁
this must be such a delicate experience for a creature that can dive two stories deep and has been seen cliff diving into the ocean
Such a quiet and gentle experience for a megafauna cryptid that can headbutt a speeding truck and walk away It’s like seeing Godzilla in a kiddie pool
During a summer heat wave in Alaska growing up (yes it’s a thing), my dad had several sprinklers and a tractor sprinkler going in the yard. From the woods behind the house suddenly came two young babies and a very large mother.
They came directly towards the tractor sprinkler and sat right down.
My dad verrrrry slowly pulled the hose of the other sprinklers, and repositioned them in the backyard so they would spray grass under the shade of several trees.
Lo and behold, the mother moose got up, walked over to the water now pooling beside these trees, and plomped down. The two babies followed after and just fell over in the cool water.
Exclusive: Work and pensions secretary signals possible reform to welfare as ministers await key reviews
I Said they where gonna do this the minute they said pip was inhumane I hate these fuckers
“Instead of benefits we’ll provide jobs support instead.”
*Proceeds to do nothing to support disabled people getting into work. Offers no legislation to protect disabled people from employers. Capitulates to property investors and discourage working from home.*
As a disabled person on benefits, not kindly, fuck off.
I wish I could work more. I am actively looking for work, I have a work advisor, I have a PhD. Most roles say they are not willing to be flexible on hours. Often you start without any ergonomic equipment and have to wait months (while your body is in increasingly more pain) either hoping your company or the government pay for equipment you are legally entitled to.
When you started that new job you have to re-explain your reasonable adjustments, also legally protected, and then not get them because your managers don't understand. Now your mental health, on top of your physical health, is declining. You try to hold on for months until the adjustments settle, but in that time you've either been unable to do the work due to the lack of support or you've had so many flare ups of symptoms you physically cannot be at work (have 6 weeks bed bound as a treat). You feel guilty taking time off a new job so you work while laying on the floor, or at random hours to make up the time, making everything worse. Meanwhile your employer does nothing.
You finally leave that job because the pain is just too much. You apply for Employment Support Allowance, £400 a month, and constantly fight with the DWP about your benefits while working a part time job thay finally fits your requirements but the hours are too few to cover your bills. You will lose your ESA if you work more than 16 hours a week or make more than £812/month (you wanted to live your life? Fuck you). The DWP decides, without every seeing you, that you're not disabled enough and ends your support.
You become more stressed, the symptoms of your condition become harder to manage, your mental health declines further. But every six weeks the job centre calls and ask you 'are you applying for work', you say 'yes' and that's the end of that.
You burn out so hard that the need to work can cause you to have a panic attack.
You have no one to turn too. You don't know what to do. Thanks for the phone call.
Reblog this and tell me what was your biggest crying over a piece of fiction. You can be vague if you don't want to spoil.

? clifford erasure for no reason
i don't care what those tiktok and instagram influencers tell you, have three meals a day!!! have a snack!! have that sweet treat!! have food that makes you feel good!!! especially if you're a woman!! starving yourself to look "desirable" will only make you desirable to people who want you to stay malnourished forever. it's a cycle of misery!!

this is my impression of what it would look like if the toddlers at my job could make traumacore edits about me
