I need to smoke weed with this bitch
"you need to actually argue for your politics and get organised to win large numbers of people over, rather than relying on them spontaneously coming round to your perspective"
☝️ there, now you understand Vladimir Lenin's What Is To Be Done
this glib summary makes it sound like this is obvious. but the rise of the far right in recent years is in significant part due to the failure of hte mainstream reformist left to understand this rudimentary point of politics and choosing to retreat on the welfare state, on immigration, on trans rights, therefore leaving the agenda to be set by the far right. so actually it's kind of like sun tzu writing about how you need to make sure to pack food for your army. someone needs to write down the basics
doesn't help ofc when you have people arguing publicly that persuading people isn't what politics is for and the only role of politics is to passively absorb public opinion

The four most interesting parts of time loop are when the person kills themselves for the first time, when they kill someone else for the first time (in a fuck around kind of way, this doesn't count if they already were killing people outside of the loop), how they break the loop, and the weeks afterward where they loose their fucking minds in an entirely different, significantly more damaging to the world around them way. And yet I rarely see anything done with that last one. People leave time loops and are all happy go lucky 'oh boy'. Where's the grappling with people you know who will never know you? Where's the knowledge that the safety of the loop is gone, and you can't fix any mistakes you make? That's the good angst I want
How I be moving lately
While watching a DVD from the library my TV popped up a message saying to press a button if I wanted to watch this from additional providers.
It's never done that before so I looked it up and turns out Roku TVs have added all sorts of creepy things in the privacy section since I last checked.
One of which being they take screenshots from what you're watching and send them to third parties to identify it.
Fucking hell! Remember when every fucking device in your life wasn't a spy implanted in your home and working against your interests to try and sell your data? Remember how nice that was??
Remember when the TV was just a tool that would play the things you plugged into it?
Why must the future suck SO much?
TVs collect a huge amount of data. Here's how to use privacy settings to limit the surveillance on TVs from LG, Samsung, TCL, and every othe
A good rundown on what each brand of TV is up to and which settings you should turn off.
PSA - Do not buy an LG smart TV. They just added a line to their terms of use that it's the user's responsibility to inform any guests in their house that by entering they consent to be recorded, in order to comply with wiretapping laws. That thing is literally recording you.
You can find tutorials online telling you how to open that thing up and physically remove the mic and wifi module. Frankly I don't trust anything less.
Please watch the Gamers Nexus video on LG Smart TV's and monitors! It's basically malware at this point.
i just need to think about it for 30 years. then i'll have a cursory understanding and we can go from there

Hi everyone! I found an interesting article about ADHD. Apparently according to one study, sleep waves seem to appear during wakefulness. Here’s an excerpt from the article:
“Frequent forgetfulness, careless mistakes, or difficulty sustaining attention and resisting distractions: attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) affects about 2.5% of adults, yet its biological mechanisms remain poorly understood.
In a study published in TheJournal of Neuroscience, an international team suggests that the symptoms of this disorder may be linked to the intrusion of slow waves—usually observed during sleep—into wakefulness.
This phenomenon, known as “local sleep,” could explain the fluctuations in attention and the drowsiness often observed in people with ADHD.
To reach these conclusions, researchers compared the brain activity of 32 adults with ADHD who were receiving medication with that of 31 neurotypical adults, while participants performed a task requiring sustained attention.
The result: “Adults with ADHD show a significantly higher density of slow waves, which are usually observed during deep sleep. These waves are not trivial: the higher their density, the more participants make inattentive errors and show slower or more variable reaction times,” explains Thomas Andrillon (Inserm), researcher in the DreamTeam at the Paris Brain Institute and senior author of the study.
Participants with ADHD also reported more episodes of “mind wandering” and “mind blanking,” two states directly correlated with these local sleep intrusions. In addition, the level of fatigue reported by participants increased as slow-wave activity accumulated during sustained attentional effort”
The full article will be below if anyone wants to read the entire thing

Entry level jobs haven't existed since the 2008 crash. 90% of hiring managers won't hire recent graduates. A quarter of job listings are ghost jobs. Companies hire part time so that they don't have to give benefits. Federal minimum wage hasn't increased since 2009. The True Unemployment Rate is 25%. Master's are the new bachelor's. For most the job search takes over a year. 75% of resumes are never. actually seen by the hiring team.
Read more:
Imperialist core entry level jobs have been replaced with outsourcing for the working class and internships for the wealthy.
The lack of entry level jobs means that recent graduates are not hired because they are expected to know in advance how to behave in the workplace rather than being trained when they begin working.
Actually as many as 1-in-3 job listings are fake, because this allows companies to claim they are "actively recruiting and growing" even when they aren't, which looks good to investors and can lead to government benefits as well.
In the US, hiring several part time jobs allows companies to save about 30% on benefits compared to hiring one full time job. This is directly because of the US's predatory healthcare system and lack of the worker protections common in other imperialist core economies.
The US minimum wage has been static for my entire adult life, in part because efforts to pin the minimum wage to cost of living metrics are constantly stonewalled by wealthy political groups.
The US labor participation rate is around 80% of abled adults, which yes, does mean about 20% of abled adults are not working, but perhaps much more damningly, this is actually very high participation compared to a lot of US history, and yet the cost of living and pay are so mismatched that quality of life is reaching impressive lows.
Masters degrees are being devalued as a consequence of the prior devaluation of Bachelors, that itself caused by the destruction and devaluation of compulsory public schooling in the US. This combines with the absence of entry level positions in deeply fraught ways.
I am unable to corroborate the claim that US job searches average greater than a year. However they do average well over 7 months, and the US's notoriously spiteful and underpaying unemployment system cuts off support much sooner than that. If you can even get unemployment support in the first place.
And finally, yes, 75% of completed and successful applications will be automatically rejected by machines without human oversight. That's for complete applications on the company's own site with resumes attached. Just plain resumes, and applications completed on third party sites like Indeed, have much worse numbers than even that.
it should make you angrier how few black transfems are on this site let alone active
like i feel insane. why do so few people notice this disparity? so many black transfems have fled, deactivated, or been terminated. the few who are left are usually getting targeted by harassment campaigns, denied autonomy, treated as mere scapegoats, and are often forced to stay in this murderously hostile environment for mutual aid reasons. why do we not notice this more???
i think being proud of where you come from is one of those things that becomes fun the more specific you get. like "proud to be english" bad rancid vibes. makes you sound like the kind of person who rants about immigrants. "proud to be from yorkshire" better vibes. i cannot deny the yorkshire cultural heritage. "proud to be from pocklington" absolutely fucking hilarious please never let anybody kill your pocklington pride.
i love the USA: weird vibes. dont trust that.
i love muskegon michigan: you are experiencing a kind of personal joy that i can and will not take from you
At this point in think that D&D has more ardent support than lutheranism. And it's adherents are somehow even more annoying.
this is officially my worst post... god... i've lost everyuthing... fuck... fuck....!
THIS IS THE FUNNIEST WAY TO FUMBLE SOMEONE

Never having used ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and such, I can't say I'd notice their loss.
Without being the slightest bit sarcastic, I miss library card catalogues and writing in cursive as the norm. And yes, I'm very much on the AuDHD bandwidth, and I STILL prefer analog everything when it comes to receiving and processing information.
Having never willingly used AI, I would only notice its loss because none of my software would be constantly harassing me to try an AI function that I do not want. (I would love that so much.)
you were almost turned into a vampire, but before you could be fully turned, the vampire was staked. This left you with a vampire weakness, while still being human.
Spin the wheel to find out your weakness!
How much does this effect you?
Nothing changes
It's inconvenient but I can deal with jty
It will be hard to adjust but I'll figure it out
I don't know if I'll be able to live like this
Maybe I can find another vampire to finish the turning?
I might just kill myself
