Cambridge professor of sociology Jason Arday is accused of plagiarism by another academic

the accuser is a "race realist" who believes that in a true meritocracy all university professors would be white. this is somehow not acknowledged much during the entire ordeal

this leads to several days of media coverage demanding an investigation, or that Arday is expelled from his post immediately

somehow this accusation that has no effect on the lives of 99.99% of the population becomes FRONT PAGE NEWS in all the newspapers for multiple days, above anything else happening in the UK or the world at large

following intense media scrutiny, Arday resigns his post as a Cambridge professor

today, august 14th, days after resigning, Arday is found dead at his home in Battersea

Its interesting that op says that those who fail to live up to the standard of a cishet woman aren't even a woman (or said more accurately, are seen as a broken, deviant, inherently sexual third gender). That is very true. But trans men are held to the standard of women, just as much as trans women are. Just like trans women, we are seen as freaks of nature and an abomination. We are just more the kind of freak you bully and demean, not as often the kind that you consider a threat and fearmonger about. Although transphobes do both to every kind of trans person, based on a million different standards and intersecting marginality, most of all race.

(Ofc transmascs are absolutely feared as a threat too, look at Irreversible Damage and its entire cult following. They're convinced all transmascs exist to steal away their precious daughters and turn them into, gasp, infertile freaks. We are deviants too, but we are ones to be spoken about in hushed tones and pretended dont exist. If they admit we exist, they lose. They lose the ability to pretend we are just women. Its the whole thing. Bc we arent trans men to them, we are broken women)

Cis feminism doesnt work for trans people, bc the gendered oppression of trans people is much more complicated. Trans women and trans men are not opposites, we are two sides of the same coin. Our oppression is way more similar than it is different.
