Here's to hellsite solidarity!
Important rules for the "age verification" era of the internet that we're living in:
1. Do not do age verification.
2. If you have to do age verification, cheat. Do not under any circumstances give them your real ID.
The tool presents users with a 3D model they can then manipulate to, the creator says, bypass Discord's age verification system.
Oh no I dropped my link, what a horrible thing! Sure hope this doesn't get reblogged until it reaches users from the UK and Brazil!
And remember to not make a second account just to test out what works best when verifying your identity
A reminder that we still dont support Age Verification bullshit.

the contrast of kris/player relationship between routes is absolutely hilarious
It's getting dark... Let's stick together.
You gotta read and watch some old books and films that aren’t 100% modern politically correct. I’m not saying you should agree with everything in them but you need to learn where genres came from to understand what those genres are doing today and where media deconstructing old tropes is coming from.
Also, more often than you might think, they’re not actually promoting bigotry so much as “didn’t consider all the implications of something” or just used words that were polite then but considered offensive now.
Kill the censor in your head.
When we choose to avoid history because it's Problematic or Says Bad Things, we are choosing to divorce ourselves from understanding how we came from that time to this one, which makes it even more likely for the cycle to repeat, with no one but a few people with shelves of old books aware that it's happened before.
and this shit's important. Media from the past tells us how people from the past acted and thought and behaved.
Plus, a lot of these media pieces were socially acceptable and/or progressive for their time. For example, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, while it contains a lot of words and ideas that are offensive now, was very progressive for its time. The book is a statement piece for how a young man who's grown up in a racist environment, with no words to explain himself other than racist and bigoted ones, decides that the whole system is shit and he's not going to follow those rules any more. So not reading or engaging with it because it uses the n-word a lot really misses the point.

"I can't remember their names but... they were my friends. My comrades"
There are many mischaracterizations and other wrong takes that portions of the fandom have about Spamton based on surface-level assumptions about him, while ignoring that it's contradicted by the text, and one of those wrong takes is the idea of Spamton stealing from everyone and being entirely unoriginal, when there are several examples of other people copying or stealing from him.
The B.ShotBowtie sold by Swatch is described as having its brand name cut off. That, and the bow tie's name being a term associated with Spamton, tells us that it's Spamton's product that Swatch is currently selling and profiting from while hiding who it originally belonged to, meanwhile Spamton is stuck living in a dumpster and selling a worn down version of his own product, because that's all he has left.
There's also Spamton's shop slogan, which the Addisons plagiarize. You can tell they're copying him by the Addison's hesitation when they're thinking what to replace the curse word with.
This one is even more obviously copying Spamton, and showing that their ripoff version is inferior to his original. Spamton advertises or promises taking a ride around town in the Cungadero because it's a car, and that's what one does with a car. The Addisons just copy its name with one letter changed, and their description for what it does is nonsensical. What does it mean to be "Funning" around Town? What even is the "Fungadero"? The Addisons themselves probably don't even know, they don't actually have a useful product, they're just copying Spamton's idea and altering it to insert the word "fun" into it without much thought.
There's also the Addisons profiting off of Spamton's image by selling the Mannequin, which resembles him, while leaving the real, living person it's based off of to fend for himself.
Something about wealthy (or at least more financially comfortable) people and corporations stealing from poorer creatives who don't have the resources to fight them, and whose original works often go unrecognized, while the plagiarized versions become popular and profitable... And when people happen to come across the original, they may assume it to be the ripoff...
While Spamton tried to impersonate Swatch once, it was never intended to last; it was a desperate attempt to sneak into the mansion's basement and acquire NEO (a corrupted file that was abandoned by the Lightner that made it). Considering that when he first appears on the Normal Route, he immediately introduces himself by his full name, Spamton G. Spamton, I'm confident in saying that the only reason he's still in Swatch cosplay is because he can't afford to get new clothes. He doesn't even try to pass himself off as Swatch, because he has no real interest in stealing Swatch's identity or taking his place. He has always wanted to be his own person and have his own identity; his dyed hair and him having his own unique name rather than being called "Addison" further supports that idea. (If the other Addisons are all they/them, then Spamton being he/him would be another unique trait). Becoming a copy of someone else, even temporarily, is something Spamton avoids doing unless he's desperate and going through every possible option he can think of. Swatch was also unharmed by Spamton's impersonation, since it didn't work at all; Spamton looks very obviously different, so no one fell for it. Spamton didn't benefit and even experienced negative consequences.
Now, we also have an example of Tenna imitating Spamton, specifically by copying his nose, but I put him in a different category than Swatch and the Addisons, since this act isn't exploitative towards Spamton.
He isn't stealing a product of Spamton's labor, but rather taking inspiration from a physical feature Spamton has, one which is implied to potentially be a "flaw" (it's longer than other Addisons' noses, and Spamton uses "Long-Nosed Doll" as a negative descriptor), so Tenna isn't materially benefiting from copying it; it's just an expression of love and an expression of his taste. He's also, forgive the pun, wearing that influence on his face. Meanwhile, he has influenced Spamton by teaching him performance skills, which is why they talk in similar ways; Spamton doesn't really hide this influence, considering his explicit references to TV, and specifically TV World and Tenna.
The relationship between them is one of open mutual influence, rather than one-sided exploitation and plagiarism while erasing the original. It's likely that they came up with the matching suits together, rather than one of them just copying the other. Likewise, there's their old jingle ("Fresh from the Juice, Turn up the Juice! Make sure you don't get it on your shoese!"), of which they recite their parts and the shared part, while not stealing each other's parts, and they have a shared leitmotif; neither is "stealing" from the other. They're two halves of an intentionally matching pair.
One last thing I'll add about Spamton being creative is his shop background. Considering that he doesn't have the money to hire an artist, and he has been abandoned by everyone, so no one would paint his wall as a gift, he definitely painted it himself.
I've complained before about the ways Spamton is commonly mischaracterized in fanon, and how the characterizations he's given are pulled out of nowhere, or clearly just come from people projecting how they would write the embodiment of spam mail onto him instead of actually paying attention to how he's written.
The interesting thing is that, as an ad, Spamton theoretically should be like some of those fanon mischaracterizations.
Ads often promote garbage. Their purpose is to mislead people and rip them off by convincing them to buy a bad product. They're supposed to only care about their profits, not their customers, though they may pretend like they care about the customer as a sales tactic. They're meant to be predatory and greedy, restrained mainly by the confines of law and by how much they could realistically convince a customer to pay.
The Addisons follow that purpose pretty closely. They advertise bad products and successfully trick people into buying, and they do so shamelessly. Their top priority being profit is further evident in their treatment of Spamton, who they left to fend for himself because he was "bad for business", despite being well aware that he would be unable to stay afloat without outside help. Even if they pity him, their profits matter more.
But Spamton... He's different.
We don't know what he was trying to sell back when he was an unsuccessful Addison, but we know of one product that he used to sell during his successful era: B.ShotBowtie. It's a good Armor, and its good quality is further emphasized by the fact that Swatch is still selling it a decade later. The bow tie being a good product, and the lack of any bad products attributed to Spamton in that time period, suggests that he was likely selling decent or even good products generally. And it's not like being successful would preclude him from being a shameless scammer; there are plenty of people getting rich through scamming. No, this is a matter of principle for him. He does not want to scam. It took him becoming homeless and lacking any resources outside of what he can dig out of a dumpster to resort to scamming as a means of survival.
In fact, he may not even want to be a salesman. As a Darkner, he can't completely opt out of being an ad, as his purpose dictates he must be, but he bent the rules as far as he could. Through his relationship with Tenna, he discovered a love for entertainment, and he has learned to perform the same way Tenna does; note their similar manners of speaking. The contract the two of them signed, along with obliging Spamton to share his secret with Tenna, is also implied to make them co-hosts on TV Time. While the show was still going to include sales, or at least some kind of deals, due to the inability for Spamton to abandon his purpose, it was going to be secondary to his preferred job of being an entertainer like Tenna.
Although the job of an entertainer does come with fame and money, it's worth noting that it revolves around pleasing an audience. The job of a salesman is to extract money from the customer and doesn't require a positive contribution to the customer's life, while an entertainer works for the audience and has to make them happy. You can trick a customer into buying a bad product, but you can't really trick an audience into enjoying a bad show and continuing to give it money.
Speaking of the contract, and of Spamton's intended job as Tenna's co-host...
Spamton knowingly took a big risk to make this commitment to Tenna. The contract cost him the support of his benefactor, which resulted in a swift end to his career, but this wasn't what made him turn on Tenna; it was Tenna not answering his calls and seemingly throwing away the commitment they had made to each other. That commitment was what mattered most to him, a commitment which also came with the promise of stability even if he lost his income. If he could have stable housing, food, etc. without that income, the loss of money didn't bother him all that much.
There's also the fact that he wanted to be Tenna's co-host, sharing the spotlight with him and, because of how the Dark Worlds work, being unable to ever surpass Tenna even if he tried, since Tenna is the ruler of TV World. Even if Tenna personally treats Spamton as an equal, the magic of the Dark World dictates that Spamton can never be on the same level, at least certainly not in TV World. If Spamton's goal was a shallow pursuit of fame, he would hate the idea of sharing it or being equals; he would want to be at the top. He would see Tenna as a competitor and would likely resent him, even if he found him physically attractive. But no, he loves Tenna. Deeply. And he loved the idea of sharing the spotlight as equals. This is the future that was taken from him, and that he was upset about losing.
Having spent a decade homeless and living off trash, completely abandoned by the society around him, he resorted to desperate measures to try to escape the Dark World, trying to steal Kris's SOUL. When that failed and he calmed down, he gave up on the escape attempts, but his hope in the goodness of others and his ability to have real friendships was restored, and he actively expressed a desire to help the Fun Gang break their own strings, turning himself into an object in order to do so. While he does somewhat benefit from this, no longer having to be in a dumpster, the party ultimately benefits more. He also gets upset if the inventory is full and he can't immediately add himself to it; he gets very attached to people and, given his history, is sensitive to rejection (real or perceived).
In many ways, Spamton has been shown to value reciprocity, fairness and commitment, to like being treated as an equal rather than a superior, and to care about others and want to genuinely make positive contributions to people's lives... And all of this is directly against what he's "supposed" to be, and is incredibly important to his story as someone who kept defying his purpose.
...Which makes it all the more frustrating when people ignore all that in favor of making him a shallow greedy scammer. It takes the purpose he rebels against as representative of who he is, completely ignoring that his whole story revolves around him trying to break free from it, and being at least partially successful.
tenna's problem isn't that he's a selfish cunt who wilfully forced spamton into something dangerous bc he didn't care about him, his problem is he's a cartoon character who didn't realize his boyfriend was living in a cosmic horror story and earnestly thought he could defeat whatever the consequences were with the power of love and friendship
Youtubers who just cover horror content are a godsend because horror is incredibly fascinating for me to analyze but also I’m a baby who hates getting scared
I've gotta help out here, since Wendigoon sucks and you deserve better
Night Mind is good at covering various ARGs and Youtube horror series. Been a fan of Nick Nocturne for a long time now, and definitely recommend his stuff
Lately I've been checking out Nightmare Movies, who tends to cover obscure horror/exploitation movies including a lot of foreign stuff. I've got a couple minor gripes with his presentation (I may post a clip thats accidentally really funny later), but definitely good for branching out and finding something new and creepy
One channel I can't recommend enough is Dead Meat. They have a series called "Kill Count" where they go over every death in a horror movie, and while doing so, go in-depth as to how the effects were done. It's a fantastic channel with a high production value and a lot of very clear adoration for the genre. With over 500 Kill Count episodes, I can't recommend it enough for any horror fan.

napping on their way to sabaody
I kinda refuse to watch the 2012 TMNT Mutant Apocalypse (because the designs are so ugly, aside from Donnie’s, and because I’m a sucker for true happy endings. Sue me). Still, I have been in this fandom long enough to have absorbed some facts about those episodes by proxy.
And I have to say, giving 2012 Raph amnesia feels like the 2012 writers' way of saying that, other than straight up killing him, this was the only way they could justifiably see Raph not actively seeking out his family. 2012 Raph can be a real dramatic bitch, as he has “quit the team” like countless times (27 times as per Donnie’s count).
But it seems the threat holds just as much weight as a three-year-old’s threat to run away with their pink Barbie suitcase and a box of Girl Scout cookies. So, despite everything that 2012 Raph says, I’m inclined to say that he is unwavering loyalty for his family.
