This is my new tumblr! Yay.

Basically, I started on tumblr at 15 with a VERY Snape focused tumblr: slytherinsweetpea

At the time, I was deeply obsessed with Harry Potter (and I kind of still am) but I've been wanting to branch out. It's still there, however I limited myself quite strictly about what I posted and reposted on that tumblr so I'm making this one.

I am now a grown person and quite eclectic in my tastes. I'm into a lot of fandoms: Harry Potter, TGCF, Predator, Stranger Things, and Arcane to name a few big ones. I love queer media, smut, found family, pretty art, various genres and whatever else captures the attention of my pigeon brain.

The intention is that I will post and repost my art, my fics, and any random fandom stuff I enjoy. I hope to make many mutuals and actually learn how to interact instead of lurking. I ask that anyone in my asks and commenting on my stuff be civil and just don't interact if you don't have anything constructive or nice to say.

If that kind of thing sounds interesting to you, feel free to sample my videos.

So far I have 2 videos up and I'm in the planning stage for many more!

I'm 100% a beginner at editing and trying to learn how to use social media so um... my apologies.

I have brought equality to the smarties. I first organized them by color, then in ascending order. I then ate the rich.

I am very sleep deprived and have two assignments due tomorrow.

I don't know what the heck happened to my body but my scalp decided to start producing so much oil that I need to shampoo 3 or 4 times just to get it clean.

Like just randomly now my hair is super greasy and damn is it tiring to wash my hair 3 times each time I wash multiple times a week.

I legitimately get so frustrated with how they slip around and I'm wondering how other people feel.

I love this sketch, I feel like it has so much character. However, I wasn't sure if she looked like an 11 year old or not.

Anywho, I moved onto a digital copy and this is the final result:

Gotta be honest, not a fan. I learned a lot of the features of Clip Studio while making this but...this isn't how I picture Heloise. I don't know what I need to change but I put a lot of work into this so I thought I'd at least post it. I'll try to post the time lapse of me drawing it because wow did I struggle.

Also, I first drew her with green eyes and then brown. 🤷

There is only one chapter up so far but the second chapter is already in the works!

I like to have meaning in my titles. The original fic was Flowers Amongst Thorns, because I wanted to emphasize that thriving despite diversity theme. This one is all about healing. Trees grow knots when they've been damaged and that damage stays with them but they make it theirs and heal it over, making that part of the tree more resilient. And Yew trees are symbolic of death due to them often being planted in graveyards.

I just think that kind of message is really awesome so that's what I went for it.

I'm writing my Severitus fanfic with a female Harry and a disabled Severus (he's missing an arm).

Currently 2300 words in and dying. I love love love writing this stuff but I'm also super impatient so as soon as I'm done 1 chapter, I immediately want to post it without editing it or anything but I also want this to be good and my writing honestly is kind of shitty on my first draft (how many times can I start a sentence with he or she before I lose my ao3 privileges?). So I should probably chill out and write it nicely and plan and outline stuff so it actually makes sense. 😮‍💨

Also, how many words should be in a chapter? With my previous fics I kinda just did whatever and posted stuff immediately after I wrote it.

And what do you guys like in your Severitus fics? I know writing one with a female Harry is a bit of a weird move but I like the idea of Snape being a girl dad. 🤷

I've been loving playing around with this more cartoony, cutesy art style lately. I was inspired by some vague memory of a box with a cartoon character on it that my mom had.

I actually found the box over Christmas! The little character was Scrapbook Sally and here's a crappy photo of the box.

I've been watching a lot of crime shows such as Law and Order: SVU and Criminal Minds lately and I've been noticing a weird little thing they keep doing with the main cast. Despite these shows showing rape from usually a broad and respectful way, with many different kinds of victims and fascilitating some decent discussion about sexual assault, i have noticed they intentionally don't let their main cast experience sexual assault in particular scenarios. There are some subtle things about perhaps coerced or unethical sex and childhood abuse but not much else.

I'm aware this sounds like a strange complaint but there are multiple episodes in these series where one of the women in the unit get kidnapped or trapped by a serial rapist and you get one of two endings. Either they get rescued just in time or for some reason the rapist just doesn't feel like raping them. And they spend entire episodes, sometimes multiple episodes building on this weird set of stakes that they never go through with.

I don't particularly want these characters to be raped but it seems odd to set up all this momentum towards this dramatic trauma and then happily ever after it. Especially because they don't do that for the side characters. It's like the main cast has plot armor to prevent them from being raped.

I'm not really sure what I'm picking up on and i know it's super problematic to have gratuitous rape for the sake of some shallow traumatic backstory or to turn some guy into Rambo. However, as someone who has experienced sexual assault, i feel offended that they use potential rape to up the stakes but don't want to "damage" or "dirty" their female characters. Like rape is something that makes you lesser somehow.
