Patch Gaming

You can't expect love from fear,  Passion from anxiety. Growing concerns surrounding you Like a harsh tide Pulling you down, Pulling you down Will not give way to companionship.  And care, True care, Is always an exception. 

Yet finding someone who will help, And let you help in turn, Is the most powerful thing You'll ever have. 

Just know the rules. 

Let them help you. Let them ask questions. Let them understand. 

They might not understand right away, They may never will, But they want to help you, And that's what matters.

They care about you. Care about them in turn. Give them time to explain themselves. Let them be themselves. 

And when a day is just a day, Be a source of comfort. Give them your time, And let them enjoy it. 

Then when it's time to go home, Don't ask anymore questions. Don't give them your fears. 

Patch Gaming: Can you tell us something about your cats? Dav: Well, Miles was born into domestication, and adopted directly from the owner of the parent by Bert, a human. Chester was found outside as a kitten one spring, cold and hungry and sad, and Berts neighbor, a cat rescue worker, took him in. Whenever Bert needed to go out of town, Miles would stay with her and hang out with all the other meows. As I understand it, the two became inseparably bonded and clearly missed each other whenever they were apart, so Bert adopted Chester as well. A few years later Bert was diagnosed with late stage cancer and was into the hospital frequently. When it became clear that he wasn't going to pull through, his neighbor started looking for a home for them, with the condition that they must stay together, and eventually found us. We went to meet them one Saturday and adopted them within the hour. With the knowledge that his meows were safe, Bert died that Tuesday. Patch Gaming: What is your favorite cat breed and why? Dav: ez Norwegian Forest Cat, due to the flooooooooof

Patch Gaming: How did you come to your love for computers? Dav: I don't really know if I can answer that, they've just always been part of me. I got my first PC game before I even learned to talk. My dad was information security at a large corporation for nearly 30 years, one could say technophilia is in my blood. Patch Gaming: How did you find Patch Gaming and why did you decide to join? Dav: I was part of AspieFriends when Patch partnered with them, and being explicitly gaming focused it seemed like a good place to vent hype for Stellaris, which was a week from release

Patch Gaming: Do you have any words of wisdom to our members out there? Dav: "Life is like a good white wine; chill for best results"

Patch Gaming; What are your current roles in Patch?

Patchi;  I am a Manager of the Social Media Kind, doing my best to keep it running since around the 20th of December last year. I am a Minecraft mod, helping with admin work and whitelisting there. I am a Events host, specifically for Warframe. (gosh I love that game ) Recently I decided to be a occational extra hand/voice for mods, albeit not much. And I also am a Spirit of Patch, indicating my big devotion to change and help others! Patch Gaming; Do you have any motivational words for the people in Patch, favorite quotes, or personal experiences you'd like to share? Patchi; Quote: "Dream... not of what you are, but of what you want to be, as one does not feel love with ones eyes, but with ones mind." ~ Margulis Motivational thingy: "If anyone in patch knew me as who I was before, and compare me to now, it will be evident that anyone can change, if you just will it, and give it your best." I guess I can give a short backstory. I used to be a very terrible person, but in a non intentional way. Meaning I strived to keep people happy, and I wrongly did this by lying and manipulating people so I could keep them happy; not thinking what would happen if they found out the truth. After a series of bad events, someone I was really close to was hospitilized because of me. I was sent to patch, and I decided to put on my final mask, but this time, this mask becomes me, the better me. Fast forward about a year or so; Me and this person are good friends again, and I haven't lied to anyone or even tried manipulating them since. As in patch, what I did to others in the past, happened to me, and I finally understood what I have truly done. Patch Gaming; We hear you like playing Warframe, have you been doing that for long, do you play with people from Patch, and what do you do there? Patchi; Yea, I actually do love it! I have been introduced to it by a friend at school in the second last year, and he came to me saying, he knows its super expensive, but I think this is gonna be huge! And he showed me  the warframe Founders page. Turns out to be a full backer was $250 dollars. So yeah, was quite expensive. So I payed, and after 2-3 months after the founders closed, and the public beta happened. Due to toxicity, I decided to use an alternate account instead, to avoid that part of the community. And for the past Five years, I have been playing everyday! (with some breaks of course). And heck yea I play with some Patchies! I even got help from some of them to make a Patch Gaming Clan! And what we do mostly varies from showing off our decked out fashion, to murdering armies of enemies. It is easily described as being a Space Pirate Ninja Warrior! XD Patch Gaming; What helps you cope when life brings you down? Do you have any hobbies? Patchi; I, like most people in patch, love games! But too me it’s also an escape from the real world, where I can be free from judgement and hostility! I love to read up lore to even better help me emerge myself into the fantasy realms! My hobbies can sometimes help with this a lot, them being DnD and recently Medieval combat etc, swordsmanship etc.. And I read, sometimes. Patch Gaming; Is there something you feel people should know about you? Something they might get wrong, not understand, rumours you want to clear, etc? Patchi; My wording of words! I am very bad at wording things properly, so bad that if I ever offended anyone, it was most likely due to bad wording. I would always rather see peoples good sides than immediately push them away. This doesn't mean I don't get annoyed though! To be short, I come of varingly awkward, or spontaneous, prickly or marshmellowey, but know that I can easily find a friend in anyone, and very diffcult to lose them. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, you need to legit show me interest when trying to befriend me, and if I think you are friend material, don't be surprised to find a friend request in your inbox!

Patch Gaming; So you joined the Social Media team, do you have any other aspirations within Patch? Anything you want to do or become?

Olim; I do indeed. I plan on becoming an events host, the age limit is 15 and I'm not is enough yet, July 20th. Num better be prepared.

Patch Gaming; That's awesome. You say you want to be an event host, what types of events would you do?

Olim; Rocket league, of guards and thieves, a f2p a found that looks good. Stick fight the game when it becomes a bit less buggy. Trivia, skribbl.io and any others I find, if sly can't do a karaoke I'd also cover for that

Patch Gaming;  I'm happy to hear that, sounds like we have alot to look forward to in the future. Tell me, who is your biggest role model in Patch and why/what do they do?

Olim; Oh that's a toughie. I wouldn't say role model but I have many people I respect. Sly for being a great person and a mod. I just like how he acts overall Efreeti for being so professional and also being a good friend Kath for being so kind despite all the shit she deals with. Patchi because he's a great friend and to my eyes, similar to efreeti, just seems infallible, as if no matter what they'll keep going.

Patch Gaming; What do you think about Patch, it's staff teams and the community how it is right now? Do you think any of them could improve? If yes, what could they improve on?

Olim; I think patch is amazing, it is like a second home, if I'm feeling like anxiety just shat on me. Or dad yelled at me for some bullshit I know that patch exists The staff team is great, easy to talk to or contact. I think staff overall could improve on communication and organization, but that's being worked on so it's all ok But this community is amazing

Patch Gaming; Do you have any general messages for our community or any motivational words?

Olim; General message, do the thing, it'll turn out ok, in terms of motivational words; Keep moving forward, never stop, you can go as slow as possible but don't stop, or the past will swallow you up and spit you out. Don't let it, just keep moving.
