Krampus.
Noelle is associated most closely with two things: Christmas and horror. The Krampus is an old German Christmas legend about a creature who works for St. Nicholas. Krampus is in charge of punishing "bad" children, and forget coal under your tree; if you don't behave, Krampus supposedly kidnaps you and/or whips you to death.
That's a terrifying enough story the Holidays probably wouldn't tell it to their kids. But Noelle is a very curious child and pop culture references still exist. If she gets wind there's some special Christmas monster kept a secret from her, she's going to look it up, discover it, then be utterly terrified for days, then become obsessed with it.
And when it's time to pick their name, what suits them better than something that unites both sides of them--the sweet kind person who loves the holidays, and the horror connoisseur who loves being scared?

Transmasc noelle is so good bc like. Carol had 2 daughters and she loved those daughters very much. And then one of them disappeared. And she only had one daughter left. So of course she clings to that daughter with everything she has.
Noelle was always a girly girl so that means she has to remain a girly girl. She isn't allowed to like things that are scary of boyish but she does anyway, in secret. She is Carol's Daughter first and foremost and that means she must Perform as such. But he's Dying inside from this. This isn't his own life this is someone else's idea of what his life should be. He wants to stop being Noelle. Carol might kill him if he cuts his hair short. She thinks Susie is a bad influence because Susie doesn't align with femininity in the Correct Way.
