I'm sitting here boggling at the idea of spending more than $30 on a purse, when i could put that money towards so many other things.

also? there is a huge difference between a designer brand and a LUXURY brand. a designer bag costs a couple hundred (ie, kate spade). a LUXURY brand bag costs a COUPLE THOUSAND (ie, chanel)

My only issue with defending Telfar bags as an investment piece is that they’re “vegan leather” which at present means they’re literally just the same plastic as that $30 bag you got at target. I mean maybe it’s better quality plastic? I don’t know. But it’s still not going to hold up in the way a leather bag of the same price would.

we aren’t saying “teenagers being horny” is bad. teenagers engaging with kink stuff with strangers online is NOT normal. i was like that in my teen years and it has had a lasting negative effect on me as a result. the internet is genuingly dangerous to minors because of rampant nsfw in communities and adults who utilize this to prey on them

My gender identity is basically “cis enough that I’m cool with my assigned gender in the abstract, but ambivalent enough that my gut reaction to being asked about it in contexts where I don’t feel it’s immediately relevant is ‘and just what fucking business is it of yours?’”.

(This is basically the reason I never put my pronouns in my blog header, even though I understand the benefits of normalising that sort of thing; I don’t mind being referred to with he/him pronouns, but I reflexively resent the implication that disclosing that information should be socially obligatory.)

There’s nothing wrong with being curious. But there’s a lot of people confidently spouting inaccurate and dangerous information.

Thank you for treating teenagers like teenagers. I see so many things directed towards "teens" and they are invariably written like they're for 5 year olds, 12 year olds, or adults. Let teens be teens

Who writes papers for school at age 13/14

Is this a serious question? Because at age 14 you would be a freshman in high school (sorry for American centric terms, idk what stage you’d be at in other countries). I’d be... concerned if you hadn’t written a paper or learned about citing sources by then. I’m not talking like a dissertation or anything, but like, at least 1-2 pages?

i have never felt as mature as when i finally understood (through therapy) and internalized (through emotional work) that you cannot connect and communicate with some people no matter how kind, compassionate, understanding, articulate, eloquent, or smart you are, and that sometimes a person not listening to you does not reflect on your communication skills or ability to connect or straight up intelligence. in a way, it’s letting go of the belief that you have the power to make people understand you. communication is a two-way street, and needs two willing participants. some people are just walls, and it has been unbelievably helpful for my mental and emotional health to let it slide and know that it does not affect me or my self worth. 

There are some particular pairings where I’m just like… “Yes, hi, I know this is a fluffy Coffeeshop AU. Yes, I do understand that. But, frankly, I must ask you if you know that it’s just not really this pairing without at least one murder going on in the background? Yeah, yes, I know we can all do whatever we like in fanfiction. But it’s just never going to feel like those characters and that relationship to me, personally, unless the characters still have their bizarre backstories and their VERY SUSPICIOUS skillsets (adapted for the AU of course), and every single customer who walks in immediately gets the sense that this coffeeshop is a front for something. There just needs to be murder happening here, I’m sorry. It’s just not them without the crimes.”

Not to get political but my philosophy is fundamentally that all people should suffer less. That it’s everyone’s responsibility to try to make the world a little better for everyone else. And anyone trying to do the opposite is an asshole who needs to stop.
