big brother little brother if you squint
I love asking people how their parents met. You always get an interesting reply. My best friend’s parents met on the relatively new internet in 1999. My other friend’s parents met at Burger King when one was the manager and the other was a regular customer. My parents met at the beach because they were neighbors in their rental houses, mom was on a church trip and dad was getting blackout drunk every night with his friends next door.
Tell me how your parents met in the tags.
listen i dont really like king of hell either in terms of story quality but it is a fun episode to me and i love that the biggest bone hughie had to pick with m.m was that hughie thinks he’s butcher’s little bitch . something objectively SOOOOO funny about butcher’s REAL little bitch ( hughie ) saying that to m.m and m.m can’t BELIEVE that this is coming from HUGHIE ( 😭😭😭😭😭 ) and then butcher CANONICALLY was like baby you GOTTA beat his ass for that . because we all know butcher is m.m’s little bitch
i was watching an episode of the files with my brother and i was mad at mulder for hanging up with scully and he said “ sounds like youre just in love with scully “ and i couldnt even rebut . fuck you for being right

man sometimes friendship really is just "I saw this and knew it would give you psychic damage. please respond with agony" and then they do. and it's great
I haven't seen project hail mary but i am pretty sure markiplier was not in that movie
something that really really gets me about the royal tenenbaums is how lonely chas tenenbaum is . he’s older than both of his siblings , which is a pretty lonely position to be in to begin with . but obviously margot and richie share a closeness that he can never share in . and he’s a kid genius , so it’s logical to assume he doesn’t have any friends his age . and then , there’s that relationship with royal that richie has and he doesn’t . margot maybe doesn’t have a specific connection ; but she doesn’t really need one , she has always been contentedly independent ( except with richie ) . his wife is dead . he doesn’t know how to both keep his sons safe and bond with them the way royal does . he sees henry sherman as someone who has always had a business relationship with his mother , not a potential step father and it’s hard for him to accept a father figure with the way his OWN father let him down . and then chas tenenbaum who can’t handle richie telling him he loves him because he’s been so alone for so long and he’s so used to keeping his guard up , that , perhaps makes his role more bearable . the oldest sibling . the odd one out. fuck me in the ass i guess
the best thing a fictional man can be is having the worst time of his life
if YOU’RE blurring the lines between our confusingly intimate friendship and I’M blurring the lines between our confusingly intimate friendship then who’s driving this bus ?

on those rare occasions where dana scully annoys me it’s like dana i dont agree with you right now but i understand where you’re coming from and i love you no matter what . on those somewhat more frequent occasions when fox mulder annoys me it’s like fox get off my screen right now or im gonna start hoping ten thousand nukes drop on you and blow your ass to smithereens
my brother was slamming millepedes and i said “ when all god’s creatures sing will millepedes not be part of the choir “ and he was like what are you saying . that sounds like something a tumblr user would say . and i am so conditioned that i went on tumblr to post about it instead of coming up with a comeback
people will call rap overstimulating and then listen to hyper pop
my beloved season 3 effect …..
not seeing a lot of people on here talking about ICE murdering another man yesterday. His name was Lorenzo Salgado Arajou. He was a Mexican man living in Huston Texas. He was killed at age 52 and lived the past 35 years here in the USA, and was in the process of obtaining a work permit. He was shot and killed during a traffic stop that ICE claims was part of a targeted operation, and claimed he was “weaponizing his vehicle”- the same claim ICE agents made when they shot and murdered Renee Good.
During the stop, Lorenzo had 3 coworkers with him in his truck who have all been taken into ICE custody.
His family described Lorenzo as a hardworking family man who didn’t deserve to be killed. All he wanted was to provide for his wife and see his sons become great people. His eldest son recognized his father by his cries and pleas when trying to identify who the victim was.
The Salgado Araujo family has set up a gofundme to help with funeral and legal costs, and to help keep their family supported since Lorenzo was the sole provider.
On the morning of July 7, 2026, Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was ta… LULAC Institute, Inc. needs your support for In Loving Memory of Lorenzo Salg

when two musicians sing into the same microphone and lean in very close to each other… like omg are you guys gonna kiss now to relieve the homoerotic tension?😳
THIS IS NOT ABOUT ONE DIRECTION I DON’T KNOW WHO THIS “HARRY” PERSON IS GO WATCH BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND CLARENCE CLEMONS KISS ON STAGE RIGHT NOW
op is the only valid person i’ve ever met. everyone else needs to come to the light
Okay, but this is really important: Bruce Springsteen occupied this really weird place in music history. His songs were all from this pessimistic, nihilistic view of an America that had let him down:
Just like the anti-Vietnam War protest songs that we associate with the 1960s, or the early nihilism that spawned punk music in the 1970s. But he didn’t *sound* like a punk anarchist; he sounded like a country rock singer. When he released Born in the U.S.A. people completely misinterpreted (or possibly ignored) the lyrics in favor of the tone of the music.
Politicians used his music to promote their ‘Murica Yes! brand, and he had to literally explain that that was not what he was about. He’s over here asking when we’re going to have jobs and heathcare, not stanning the politicians who weren’t helping the people.
It was also kind of a big deal that he had an integrated band, because even as late as the 1980s music was still kind of segregated and MTV was straight up racist. They refused to play and promote black artists and then claimed that were no black artists in the first place. Michael Jackson’s record company had to threaten a boycott of their white artists to get MTV to play his Thriller video.
Plus, the first black/white interracial kiss on TV was in 1968 (OG Star Trek). Also it took us until the 70s to get sympathetic gay characters on screen, and the 90s to get gay characters to kiss onscreen. And all of those firsts were met with outrage.
So keep that in mind when you see Bruce Springsteen not just playing with an interracial band, but engaging in an interracial, gay kiss on stage repeatedly.
Passages from American Popular Music by Larry Starr and Christopher Waterman
I used to think that Bruce and Clarence kissing onstage was exuberance, showmanship, and telling racist homophobes to fuck off. Like, they picked up a certain kind of audience and went “Racist homophobes? Not in our house!” And started the kissing then but then I actually looked it up and

It was a story where… we remade the city. We remade the city, shaping it into the kind of place where our friendship and our love for one another wouldn’t have been such an exceptional thing. - Bruce Springsteen
It wasn’t about showmanship or rejecting bigots or anything it was just. Damn right that was one of the loves of his life and damn right he was going to kiss him onstage
It gets me a little that Bruce has had a divorce, that he’s been married twice, but he loved Clarence for the rest of Clarence’s life and will presumably love him the rest of his own
Clemons said in one interview. “Bruce and I looked at each other and didn’t say anything, we just knew. We knew we were the missing links in each other’s lives. He was what I’d been searching for.” In another version of the story, Clemons says “He looked at me, and I looked at him, and we fell in love.”
I’m having some emotions about it!
“He was elemental in my life,“ Springsteen adds, “and losing him was like losing the rain.”
Not just! I love you pure and deep and true but! I am going to love you like that in front of the whole damn world!
We have fewer narratives about taking risks and making statements for platonic love rather than romantic and supposedly it would be easier to downplay this onstage than romance and! They refused! They fucking refused! In front of hundreds of thousands of people, over the course of years! In the spotlight, in word and deed, I love you!
God I’m not okay about it
Now I’m mad that this is not among any of the things I was ever told about this artist.
I knew about this in general (& via all those fabulous photos), but this just adds even more beautiful context <3
Just to add to the pile: this was the cover of Springsteen’s break-through album Born to Run, in 1975:
I mean, will you LOOK at this:
This was the pic chosen for the album cover from an extensive photoshoot, too. A few others:
There’s a lot more online if you search. They’re all pretty amazing. But the photographer is right, the one chosen for the album cover just pops.
