was thinking about practicing drawing the cookies in my style and have come to ask if i should draw pre guardian fire spirit and to ask if you had any ideas or requests about him ..
was wanting to name him after the fireberry hawthorn because. Fireberry and because i searched around a few articles about hawthorn and thought their symbolism could fit with him, ex.
hawthorns can represent love and protection which i thought could fit with him
they can also represent rebirth or the different sides of life which i also thought could fit
and for negative they are said to be able to give off the scent of death when cut and can represent death or illness which i guess could fit maybe with how he thought/thinks of himself and also him basically dying ??? im not the fire spirit expert don't shoot me /nsrs /silly
was just wonderin what you'd think because i also haven't read his ovenbreak story yet besides knowing some stuff about it and could definitely be very wrong ,,
HIII so my ideas for pre-guardian fire spirit entirely hinge on parfaedian fire spirit theory, which is a whole other can of worms that i'm not gonna go too deep into on this post

fireberry hawthorn cookie... that is a lovely name i think :) the symbolism is very well chosen!!!
fire spirits OB stories don't really tell us anything about his past unfortunately :') but what we do know came from witches castle!
to run down the list;
he wanted to be a wizard. couldn't due to magical incapability (whether inherent or not unclear, he simply says that he can't summon a single spark 'right now'. no idea what that means).
wanted to prove himself. decided to take a scale from the red dragon and return with it to prove himself worthy.
ended up in the valley (likely already crumbling). struck a deal with the red dragon, and the rest is history.
that's all we have right now!! do with this what you will :)
the reason i think he's parfaedian and not hollyberrian is largely due to the fact he wanted to be a great wizard! not only that, parfaedia has a lot to do with dragons, magic, courage and fire, all central themes of fire spirit! and on top of that, you'd think a hollyberrian would have more to say about hollyberry herself, right?
with this in mind; my idea for pre-guardian fire spirit is a spice/tea cookie named cinnamon chai cookie! a cookie baked and raised in parfaedia, notably incapable of or otherwise limited in magic (my personal idea is that the best he could summon is embers. he can feel the flames crackling under his dough, he just can't figure out how to get them out). likely has a strained/otherwise difficult family situation and not many people he trusts.
he goes out one day on a quest to prove himself and never returns. his name and face is forgotten by time. fire spirit would like to keep it that way.
for design, i think it'd be cool to try to keep his resemblance to fire spirit intact, but still separate enough that anyone who may have known him previously wouldn't recognise him as who he is now! i tend to draw him with short pushed back hair, a similar eye shape and dark amber eyes (with a subtle fade to red at the bottom)
