People's reaction to transfem Ralsei has reminded me how much people hate trans people.
Like, this is the one theory/headcanon you HAVE to emphasize how much you know it hasn't been confirmed canon yet, and you just think it's neat.
Also, people acting like Ralsei being a feminine man would somehow be more progressive than transfem Ralsei and acting like thinking Ralsei is trans is femboy erasure or something is really funny to me cause like what the hell are you even talking about.
(Also, just for clarity's sake, I don't think you're transphobic if you don't believe in trans Ralsei or even flat-out dislike the theory. I'm talking about the people who get weirdly defensive about how Ralsei "definitely 100% isn't trans.")

Also, the argument "it isn't in the Japanese, therefore it doesn't count" is flawed because it was still written in English. Toby Fox purposely put that in there, and then you just dismiss it as an error. So, is the Japanese dialogue the only canon one?
Also just ignoring how Tobyfox canonically has written transfem character in the same god dang chapter Which is mew mew.
Also ignores how Ralsei being trans fem is a great way to go against the prophecy and. A great way of having ralsei make their own decision abd stick with it despite the fear.
I like a lot of Ralsei headcanons, but I stand by the idea that Ralsei being genderfluid is the most satisfying interpretation to me.
I've seen so many people argue that Ralsei has to be trans fem because it would be her finally making her own decision and sticking firmly to it. The thing is, you could make the exact same argument for Ralsei being nonbinary or genderfluid or Demiboy or any other Gender.
It also irks me because, while Ralsei could choose to consistently identify as genderfluid, it would still be satisfying because Ralsei doesn't have to choose one fixed identity and that's okay. Maybe it's fine that Ralsei changes how they identify from day to day. They can be anything they want to be at any time, and they get to decide that for themselves. That's still agency over who they are and how they feel.
Another thing that bothers me is how much of the evidence people claim points specifically to transfem Ralsei is simply that Ralsei likes feminine things. That annoys me because plenty of transenby nonbinary people are feminine-presenting, and plenty of transenby genderfluid people also dress femininely. None of that means Ralsei specifically has to be transfem.
It's even more frustrating because Ralsei could be trans fem and still use he/him (somebody corrected me in the comment for this so as of to why Ralsei going by he/him might sypport the prophecy which is actaully a good argued) she/they or any other combination with she pronouns, yet everyone acts like Ralsei has to use she/her pronouns. If you don't headcanon that, people accuse you of erasing a transfeminine woman and treat your headcanon as invalid.
On top of that, Ralsei could easily be agender snd not isentify as transfem or could identify as transenby, which would allow Ralsei to be completely free in how they express themselves. It's really frustrating that there are so many valid ways to interpret Ralsei, yet because Ralsei likes girly things, some people insist that Ralsei therefore must be a girl. If you interpret the character as anything else, you're accused of hating trans people, while the same people ignore the ways they unintentionally invalidate other gender identities and pronouns. The issue really isn't that simple.
To be clear, I don't hate trans fem Ralsei. In fact, I'm rooting for almost any trans or gender nonconforming interpretation of Ralsei that isn't simply "cis male by default," and I'd be happy with any of those interpretations. What frustrates me is that some of the arguments in favor of transfem Ralsei come across as enbyphobic. It's ironic that the same people who talk about transmisogyny sometimes ignore how they treat people who don't fit neatly into the two most commonly recognized genders.
