I'm sorry to put you on blast but every time I hear some variation of "why not both" the dismantling is pushed more than the transition, or annoyingly inserted into conversations about someone's transition.
"dismantling gender" is a vague, society wide thing that will require literal centuries of societal restructuring. Transition is a material thing that individuals can do for themselves now, to alleviate their bodily and social dysphoria. The entangling of conversations about the two is infinitely frustrating when I'm just trying to live my life.
