No one should get their concept of history from 300, and I say that as someone who enjoyed 300. 300 is a comicbookification of a legend, and legends are already exaggerations.

anyone else notice how when "digital assistants" were just supposed to do specific tasks when you asked for them we had Alexa and Siri and Cortana, but now that they're being marketed as smart enough to take actions and make decisions on their own they've got names like Claude and Devin

little Andrew loved plush toys. he loved them enough that it became one of the reasons the other kids in kindergarten teased him. boys were supposed to like robots and race cars, not silly, fluffy animals. then one day, Neil gave him one of his old toys, one he said he didn’t use anymore. It was a gray bunny with awkwardly long ears and limbs that seemed a little too big for the rest of its body. and somehow, from that moment on, it became one of the few things Andrew could never bring himself to part with. so when kindergarten announced a Favorite Toy Day, every child brought something precious to them. most of the boys spent the morning showing off their robots and dinosaurs, arguing over which one was cooler. Andrew sat a little apart from the group, clutching the bunny securely against his chest. “You brought Mr. Bunnyster today!” Neil appeared at his side so suddenly that Andrew nearly jumped. he dropped down beside him, proudly setting his own favorite possession—a railway car he’d become completely obsessed with lately—on the floor between them. Andrew’s lips twitched upward. “Yeah, but…” he said quietly. “I changed his name a little.” Neil immediately looked intrigued. “What is it now?” as he asked, he absentmindedly rolled one of the bunny’s ears between his fingers. Andrew copied the motion with the other ear. “Mr. Wiggy Ears,” Andrew said after a moment. then, even more quietly, “Or just Wiggles.” Neil considered this with a thoughtful pout. after a few seconds, he gave a small nod, apparently deciding the name met his standards. a few minutes later, his eyes lit up again. “Does Mr. Wiggy Ears want to go for a ride?” he pulled the little railway closer between them. “But he won’t fit.” “He will! Look!” Neil snatched up the rabbit and carefully tucked him into the tiny cargo car, folding his long limbs into place with all the seriousness. then he sent the train racing down the track. “Look!” Neil shouted excitedly. “His ears are flying in the wind, just like you said!” Andrew burst into laughter before he could stop himself. and when Neil grinned and offered him the controls, Andrew immediately scrambled after him as he scooted farther down the track, already reaching for his turn to drive.
