A lot of things, especially when it comes to recovery, are easier said than done. That thought alone can discourage those who are struggling into not trying at all. However, a better way to look at the phrase âeasier said than doneâ, is that being able to say those things is a very good start on the journey towards getting it done. This small series of resources is going to explore that idea.
Letâs take a look at self-love. Itâs something that everyone wants to achieve most of the time, whether that be consciously or unconsciously, and yet it is so hard to do, and so commonly absent. It may be easier said than done, but you are worthy of self-love. So please, whenever youâre able, try your best to take small steps towards saying that, and then you can start working towards doing it. Here are a few small tips and reminders that might help.Â
compliment yourself whenever youâre able
acknowledge all of your achievements and celebrate them, no matter how big or small
try your best to not be so hard on yourself, or to have too many high expectations on yourself - just do your best
speaking of your best, your best is always good enough
whenever youâre feeling more negative about your appearance, personality, about yourself, or anything like that, try your best for every negative thought to come up with a positive one, or a complimentÂ
if you canât do that easily, try treating yourself like a friend - if one of your friends was saying those negative things about themselves, what would you tell them? tell those things to yourself, as well, because you deserve kindness instead of being hard on yourself
remember that self-love isnât just going to happen, itâs hard, and itâs a long journey, and you might have to go through it more than once, but it will be worth it
there are going to be days where no matter what you do, you wonât be able to feel more positive about yourself, and thatâs okay, just try your best to remember that that is not going to be forever - acknowledging when itâs happening, even if you canât change it, is an important step forward
on days where you can compliment yourself, try writing some of those things down, so on the harder days, you can read themÂ
accept your feelings and work with them instead of hiding them away or letting them consume you (this one is definitely easier said than done, but i believe in you, even if it takes a long time)
try to make time simply for yourself
you are beautiful and wonderful and iâm proud of you
you deserve your own kindness
there is nothing wrong with putting yourself first
I understand that the things above are âeasier said than doneâ, but it is still important to at least say them.Â
If you have any tips or reminders you would like to share about self-care and loving yourself, feel free to share them in your reblogs or replies. I hope this could help. And also, if you think you donât make an effort towards loving yourself and self-care, you read this post. Thatâs a start. Iâm proud of you.Â
I hope you have a lovely day today. :)
