I think this whole problem arises bc they’re a company built of primarily millennials and older trying SOOOOO desperately to be woke and use cool lingo in the specific ways that younger gen Z kids are (think tiktok kids) and it’s just backfiring on them SO severely because they don’t and can’t understand it (can’t because they’re not and will never be as immersed in that internet as a real 15 year old).

…And also because they keep going through phases of being more gender neutral in their articles but then a couple months later doing a full 180 and doubling down like twice as hard on the girl theming as the last time they doubled down. Like remember when they changed “craftswomen” in that one article to a gender neutral term? But now we’re back to “cowgirl” when, as you and dorian pointed out, “partner” and “cowpoke” are BOTH terms that exist.

Fucking put the alerts on the website or some shit. Im not gonna sign up on a page owned by a antisemitic transphobe just to see if the game is down for a quick update.

Plus they probably were never counting contractors in that number or it would likely be a lot larger (considering they outsource a lot of their textures, for example), and contractors are from my understanding what they’ve mostly been cutting down on? (might be wrong about that though)

People complaining about improvements is because they dont see it as improvements or just plainly dont like them. How people feel about the stuff SSO is working on is not anyones fault, people just have thoughts and preferences.
