Guess what, I'm finally caving and making a pinned post. Dire, I know.

I'm Manda Shiroselia (She/Her) (Early 20s) (And, despite what my Ao3 might imply, not straight!) So whomst tf am I then? Well mostly I'm a resident annoying opinionated fuck who realised way too late she's been hyperfixating on a mid Swedish horse game for more than half her life. I am well known for never shutting the fuck up and having a lot of opinions on absolutely everything. I yap a lot about a lot of stuff with the only consistency being that I talk A Lot.

I publish fanfiction on Ao3! Mostly, and usually, the longest fucking SSO rewrite longfic fucking ever. To figure out chapter releases, check the summary on Ao3, or play blues clues on this blog. (Or look at the pinned @equestrianequivalent)

I also publish oneshots. When I feel like it and have ideas for them.

And now; Some useful terminology:

Deilight/QuintSum/SquirrelPunt/Horsefic: All the names I use to refer to my SSO rewrite longfic project. Deilight is the combined name of Unto Daylight (the name of the two-parter) spelt like a portmanteau of Deia and Moonlight, QuintSum is the name of part 1, SquirrelPunt is the name of part 2, and horsefic is what I call it because that's what my friends who don't know the game refer to it as.

If you want to see my posts about that I'd suggest looking through the #deilight tag in particular (for the most part spoiler free until you get far back enough in the timeline to end up at before the second draft existed, but even then the only real spoiler you'd get is a character existing)

Kind of really fascinated by how he still uses the baseness so to speak of physical exertion to solve his problems and have a good think

Because even in literally The Way of Kings (had to retype that twice to remember the right title of the first book lmfao) one of (imo) Dalinar's first big scenes is when he uses his shardblade and a good ol' axe to carve out stone and Have A Good Think about abdicating to Adolin (not that he actually does that but still the point is that he felt like his head was all twisty and he needed to get things straight)

Meanwhile here in Oathbringer, we see him deal with his Current political predicament of Holy Shit These Monarchs Won't Listen To Me... by wrestling and Literally and Metaphorically fighting with Kadash

Like there's a kind of cool implied throughline there of how Dalinar, while still being a very simple man who wishes he could smash things to solve them (and also having Been that guy who only smashed things to solve them) still retains that physicality (because he is Not a politician, he is not a scholar, he is simply a guy who Has To Be That even though he still thinks himself suited better for plain ol' smashing skulls in) but has Changed how he goes about using it

Instead of solving his problems By physical exertion (i.e killing and maiming) he instead channels it as a way for himself to think clearly and feel less intimidated by the sheer thinking by simply letting himself let go a little bit and thinking While he does something physical
