Had someone tell me I should post this. Twisted wonderland has been a hyper fixation for me at the moment. I never post any writing ever so be gentle please
Imagine this: The world is falling apart around you (metaphorically or not.) Feeling numb from all that's happened. you make a decision that never failed to make you feel something.
You always had a fear of mirrors. No real reason why, just always had a sense of unease looking in them. You had nothing left, so why not see what you've been missing out on all these years.
Uncovering the sheet obstructing it's surface. The glass was in pristine condition. Not a crack or a blemish on the smooth surface. Just a reflection on what's broken from its parallel dimension.
Unease settled in your body as you observed your double. Finally you feel something even if it's horrible. As you settled on the figure unchanged and dull. It's face changes from dull to emotion so strong. Anger flowed through your veins, changing your face to an ugly grimace as tears ran downward and eyes burned red from the salty river.
Finally letting out all that was held in. Cursing your world and its god it worships. Falling to the ground you wept out your worries. Unaware the mirror was not the only witness.
Through the glass reflections start to warp. Unaware of a silluette formed a figure that was not like your own. A voice calls out a name you know all to well, trying to get your attention away from your spell.
A friend stands in a dimension not like your own,watching your form crumpled and alone. He calls out your name, pleading for your attention. Feeling helpless to comfort your person he bangs on the glass. Yelling out you name hoping you'd react.
Cries go silent as your form grows still. Everything is still, but the vibrating mirror. You shift your gaze feeling a bit lost. The vibrating mirror begins to progress to a rattle. As its frame shook and a voice carried though the glass.
Wide eyed and startled you stood on shaky legs. Looking through blurred vision you see a humanoid figure. They're trying to break through the dimensions connected to the mirror.
Seeing you react at last. His heart let out a sigh. He reached out his hand to take, offering an escape. Crying for you to "come back for their world isn't the same anymore". The hand couldn't pass through the glass but he pleaded all the same.
Startled and shaken you look at the figure in the mirror. A voice called out and distorted tones resembling a mans timber. He spoke of missing you and names you supposedly should remember. But even if it sounded familiar you couldn't put a picture to his story . As your heart settled, you could think once more. His way of speaking sounded like a friend in a dream you had once before.
Bringing a hand out ready to touch the surface of the mirror. Closer you come you better see the features of the boy crying to you through the mirror. Your heart aches at his hurt as you touch the cold surface.
Asking in a soft voice "do I know you, cause you sound so familiar? Like once upon a dream you were my closest friend. if I take your hand will the world feel alright again? Will I never have to feel alone again?"
His eyes looked up to see your hand against his own. Not quite touching, but feeling warmer all the same. He tries to close his fingers to hold your hand.
