im so attached to bloodymary, platonic or romantic, because of how similarly these two men have suffered. the entire premise of both iron lung and project hail mary is that one person was sent to a surreal environment (blood ocean on a moon, and an entirely new galaxy) against their will, to certain death, in the name of saving humanity.

simon. the convict. the butcher. sentenced to an execution in the guise of an expedition. all he wanted was to live, to make amends, to go home.
