ANGUS SAMPSON as the ORGANIC MECHANIC FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA 2024 | dir. George Miller
It's dangerous to go alone - take the Organic Mechanic with you!
(drawn for @mygodcharles đ)
A look at the villains from Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga From left to right: Octoboss (Goran D. Kleut); Fang (Matuse); Dementus (Chris Hemsworth); History Man (actor currently not known); Lil' Jilly (CJ Bloomfield); Smeg (David Collins, kneeling in front); Organic Mechanic (Angus Sampson)
Would you judge the bones on the covers of Gideon the Ninth? I honestly assumed you may have already, but searching your tumblr has shown me nothing (though, tumblr). Thanks!
Oooo I don't think I have judged Gideon the Ninth, might have intended to in the past but put it off cause of the chaos! Iâm just going to judge the four more complete fellows, if I judged Every bone weâd be here for a While, especially as some of the floating bones I havenât been able to identify...
Top left: slightly dislocated looking left shoulder, missing a ridge near the top of the left scapula, I canât see much of the pelvis but what I can see doesnât seem to make sense (could well be perspective plus fog though), otherwise good bone shapes 8/10
Lower left (above the ribcage in the corner):broken skull :( , actually looking at it I think the skull might not be attached :â( , canât tell for sure but looks like too few ribs, odd bulbous bit where the shoulder joint should be? might be the scapulaâs dislocated, might be another bone got mixed in during the chaos, itâs confusing me. Good skull shape and nice vertebrae 7/10
Top right (below the floating skull): besides maybe missing ribs, and what could be a damaged humerus this fellow looks great! 9/10
Lower right: broken skull :( , missing or wrongly positioned first ribs (would be a bit higher than the first set of ribs here), unusually flat scapula, unusually pointy head of the humerus. Really tricky angle for the pelvis but it looks decent! 7/10
This ask has me itching to start reading these books!!!
I'd been hoping you would do these covers!!! Thank you, I love the analysis. I had to save these tags, for reasons you will definitely understand when/if you read the book:
What about Harrow the Ninth? These guys are generally a little more intact
Please ignore the bone tiddy corset we all know that's not how ribcages look
OOooo.... this is rad!

This will probably not mean anything to anyone who didn't know me during the MMFR fandom era. But... Um... was looking at something for OFMD, and... um... Who is playing King George I?
This guy...
Angus fucking Sampson. Yes... King George in OMFD is The Organic Mechanic from MMFR!
Anyone still around?
Dental fun with bow drills!
Ever made a fire with a bow drill? Imagine that on your teeth!
While the second image is an early-20th century Inuit tool, ancient tools and texts found in the Indus Valley from ca. 5000-7000 B.C.E. indicate that they had very similar mechanisms (minus the metal tip - theirs would have been stone) to remove rotted sections of the larger teeth. If done proactively, as may have been practiced in the social elite, this would have resulted in much longer-lasting teeth than the common folk.

TFW youâve developed a minor canon character to the point that theyâre basically an OC

A steady growl rumbles out of Danu as she is carried through the winding tunnels of the Citadel, an unnamed War Boy carrying her down, rushing as quickly as he can. She doesnât know who he is, just another painted face in Joeâs army, but she is certain he doesnât know who she is. Doesnât know what she has done to lose Joeâs favor or what she said to get herself in this situation in the first place.
He calls her âBreederâ, wadding up the loose fabric of her skirt and making her press it firmly to the stab wound on the left side of her belly before hoisting her up in his arms. He tells her not to be afraid, that the Organic Mechanic will fix her up just fine, treating her like some small soft thing.
The pain is so bad that she canât even think to fight him, her distaste for the Organic smothered by the instinct to live, every step the War Boy takes making Danu gasp in pain. If Joe sees her like this, Danu thinks he would laugh and tell his Boy to leave her on the floor to bleed out and die, making Voli his and his alone.
âOrganic!â shouts the War Boy when he reaches the clinic, a cluster of War Boys and Pups following, attracted by the commotion. âOne of the Breeders been hurt⌠Hurt real bad.â
Danu groans in both pain and dread as they approach the clinic, feeling sick as she looks at her blood soaked fingers clutching red stained whites.Â
Organic was just finishing with a War Boy in the late stages of his short life. Dying soft, and piss angry about it, but the tumors were slowly suffocating him and his rage came out in a breathy wheeze.
But at the word "Breeders" his head shot up. Few things were more important than the dying, but a hurt breeder was an emergency. He rushed out from behind the altar to find a War Boy with an armful of bloody white gauze.
"Put her down, here." he commanded, and took over pressure on the wound from her weakening fingers. He could tell the wound was deep from the amount of blood. The worried War Boy hovered over his shoulder as he got a better look at his patient.
"Oh. Danu, its you." He relaxed almost immediately, Joe didn't much care about this one. "I won't bother asking you what you did to get yourself into this mess. Something stupid no doubt."
Even as he joked with her though, his other hand was feeling around in his bandolier for some clean (well clean-ish) packing material so he could get a better look at the wound.
