And just like that, my MumboJumbo model is done! I got distracted with real life (no pun intended) stuff for a few weeks but I finally finished it the other day. It didn't take as long as other models I've done, since much like his redstone, Mumbo's skin is really quite simple.
This model is made of 140 pieces plus extra details, and took 6 hours.

As I'm folding papers, I've been thinking and my brain whipped up a hot take about books. You know those small authors who promote their book by describing it as (insert popular book) meets (insert other popular book)? The books written by those authors are automatically not worth reading. Blanket statement, across the board. If the best way you can describe your book is by saying "The Hunger Games meets Divergent!" then it seems like you're just bad at describing things. Why should I spend time reading a book that can't even be described by its own author?
Also, if I wanted to read a story similar to those popular books you mentioned, then I can just go read those. If I wanted to read something like the Hunger Games, then I'd crack open my hard copies of the Hunger Games. If I wanted to read Divergent, I'd check myself into a mental hospital since clearly something would be wrong with me.

As I'm preparing the papers for my next project, I'm making a realization. Much like his redstone, Mumbo Jumbo's character model is really, quite simple.

Aaaand it's Gem! I've made plenty of models before, but this is the first one I've made of a Life Series member. When deciding which member to model first, I was watching the different POVs of the Wild Life snailpocalype and the way Gem just adopted the snail as her little buddy instead of running in fear was hilarious! I just had to model her and (I think her snail has been dubbed GeminiSnail?) together.
I made it so the snail attaches to her head with a magnet, and it unintentionally also makes it stick to metal stuff to look like it's climbing walls lol
I wish I had a good backdrop for better pictures, but I still think it turned out good! I saw a lot of fan artists using deer features for Gem, so I originally had horns as part of the design, but then I decided against it when the horns I folded made her look like a lynel from Breath of the Wild LMAO anyways I'll post this to my other socials and the life reddit, and hope that everyone likes it!
This model is made of 132 pieces and misc accent details, and took 8 hours to complete
